Finding this marriage clarifies the parents of Joseph Vaillancourt and that he is descended from the second marriage of Bartelemi Vaillancourt, the present family is also descended from the first marriage of Bartelemi. Both of these marriages are in Tanguay with Barthélemi Vaillancour marrying first Marie Madeleine Bouchard 27 Jan 1766 at Kamouraska and second he married Marie Louise Labelle 3 Jul 1781 at Terrebonne. The parents of Barthélemi Vaillancourt are Joseph Vaillancourt and Thérèse Martin who were themselves married 7 Jan 1733 at Islet. This Joseph was the son of Robert Vaillancour and his first wife Geneviève Destroismaisons and they were married 28 Sep 1704 at St Thomas. Robert was the son of Robert Vaillancour and Françoise Gobeil who were married in 1668 at Chateau Richer. Robert was the emigrant ancestor and so Generation 1.
