All these comments on what the Prime Minister of three days since the election should be saying or doing

I would like to see the Prime Minister take his time as he builds his Cabinet so that he has their opinion as well on the forward steps; how to proceed. I do not think Canadians are concerned in the short run; the Prime Minister already laid out his plans prior to the Election. I also think a meeting with the President of the United States should be the first order of public business. He gave a lovely speech on election night (middle of the night) so I am prepared to wait a bit. He was on the job the day after in his office - I was impressed. He is not a young man. The platforms of the Liberals and the Conservatives did not have a lot of differences in terms of economic growth so let us give it a bit of time until Parliament meets and Question Period begins once again - one of my favourite shows but it does distract from my writing unfortunately. Mind you during the last parliament I got a lot done as I simply could see little value in what was happening the last six months in parliament - it was just so random; so inefficient; so unlike Canada really. We are back on the rails again I think. There is a need to get Pierre Poilievre back into Parliament and I think that should be top of the mind for the critics since they are probably going to be primarily Conservative (like myself). Just under 90% of Canadians who voted supported the platforms put forward by the Liberals and Conservatives and I expect the over 300 members of parliament representing Liberal and Conservative to work together for the good of Canada without a lot of bickering as the solutions are pretty straightforward as laid out in their platforms. The order, perhaps important, will I am sure be laid out to us in due course. This is not going to be easy; nose to the grindstone and if I can help I am willing and able to do work still. Since we all receive Canadian Pensions (the baby boomers and that small group of us that is older) perhaps some of that time in our lives can be volunteered to help. I do feel I have volunteered enough for a lifetime (but if asked I will do my duty). Some day I will write it all down as I have volunteered a huge amount of time in my life since we arrived here in Ottawa. It was not something that I did before; I just worked or I went to school although there were a couple of times that I volunteered. I was on a Radio Talk Show for Teens when I was maybe 15 to 17 I think (a friend of my uncle's daughter was involved and asked me if I would come and I did). That and teaching Sunday School were perhaps my great volunteer items in that time frame (before 20 when I married). I was also opinionated when I was young but definitely a Conservative.

So give him a honeymoon to get everything moving along and then we will have Parliament (after all we believe in the principle of community within the Parliament and the Prime Minister represents the leader of that community that won the most seats). Since it is a Minority government there will be compromises to make the best decisions and I do not think that this Prime Minister will get lost in how to win again. He has a path that he wants to follow which he already stated (but I suspect he is flexible and will need to be to bring us to a safe haven in a very difficult time). It will make us to a more independent Canada with a much improved usage of all the excellent resources that Canada is gifted with and I was so happy to see so many candidates from the First Nations and many elected. We need their input and thank you to them. This is the crisis of our generation for sure and everyone should be gearing up for the hard work ahead.
