Mary Blake the testatrix is probably elderly in that she has great grand nephews/nieces. There is a very large Blake family at St Breock found on the 1851 census possibly descendants of this Blake family with similar names.
Nieces named in the will:
Rebecca Waram (widow)
Mary Henwood
Alice Roskilley
Anne Mallet
Susanna Warne
Nephews named in the will:
James Blake (married to Mary, Children: Peter, Anne, Henry (children of Henry – Henry, Jonathan))
Peter Blake (Child: Charles and Elizabeth is the daughter of Charles)
Richard Guy Blake (Children: John, Peter, Richard, Elizabeth)
Marriages at St Breock mentioned in the will:
Rebecca Blake married William Waram 29 May 1775
Mary Blake married William Henwood 18 Aug 1787
Alice Blake married James Roskelly 24 Nov 1795
Anne Blake married William Mallet 27 Dec 1795
I did find a Mallett Family History online:
There is a comment attached to Anne saying that they married later in life and giving a possible date of birth for Anne of 1752, she died 3 May 1822. Since she married in 1795 she would have been 43 when she married. No children are listed for this couple.

I did blog a will for Andrew Blake cooper at St Breock probated 1693 and he mentions similar names Henry Blake and Peter Blake.
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/05/will-of-andrew-blake-cooper-st-breock.html
Rootsweb posting was rather interesting:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/englandcountry/cornwall/messages/2434.html
“John & Alice Blake children: Rebecca baptized 10/00/1748
James baptized 2/22/1749 - both baptized Parish of St. Breock, Cornwall.
James Blake married Mary Roskilly 01/09/1783 Parish of St. Veep, Cornwall - only child I know about is henry baptized 07/27/1783 Parish of St. Veep, Cornwall.
Henry Blake married Ann Werry 09/24/1811, Parish of Pelynt, Cornwall, children are: Henry baptized 11/07/1813; Johnathan baptized 02/11/1816; James baptized 07/14/1818; Mary baptized 03/12/1821; Thomas baptized 01/04/1823; Ann Werry Dawn baptized 08/11/1827 - all baptized Parish of St. Breock, cornwall.”
Rather an interesting post and does fit in with the details in the will somewhat. It does appear to indicate that Mary had a brother John married to Alice unknown. John and Alice had two children: James and Rebecca. This would appear to be incomplete as Mary in her will goes on to name four more daughters and two more sons for this couple all of whom would be her nieces and nephews as indicated by her.
Henry (son of James) does have the two sons mentioned (Henry 1813 and Jonathan 1816) and Mary in her will indicates that they are under 21 and that this couple is likely to have more children (which it does appear they did do).

Will of John Blake of Luxulyan, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/263/148, probated 2 Apr 1657
John Blake married to Blanch is the testator. He names his son Robert and daughters Julian, Grace and Martha (married to unknown Eare). The Parish of Luxulion runs with Bodmin Parish although I do not see any connection with the will of George Blake in 1707 at Bodmin (Bodwin). But it is interesting to find a Blake family closeby as George was in the British Navy.
Martha was baptized 27 Apr 1623 at Luxulyan daughter of John Bllake and Bllanch (LDS)
Julian was baptized 21 Aug 1625 at Luxulyan daughter of John Bllake and Bllanch (LDS)
Grace was baptized 30 Nov 1631 at Luxulyan daughter of John Bllake and Bllanch (LDS)
I did not find the baptism for Robert on the LDS site or on the OPC Cornwall site.
Robert Bllake and Temperance baptized Anne Blake 22 Apr 1650 at Luxulyan.
The earliest records for marriages on the OPC Cornwall site at Luxulyan begin in 1680, the baptisms in the 1680s and the burials in 1684. There was a Blake family at Luxulyan into the latter part of the 1800s.
There is a Robert Blake and a John Blake listed on the Protestation Returns 1641-42 at Luxulyan. Robert must then have been born by 1623 as males over 18 signed the Return.
I must go back and add details to the wills of the past two days. Gardening is still occupying quite a bit of my energy these days! But it is pretty well all planted now; fences are up to keep the rabbits out and the dog out. This has been successful the past three years that we have put a fence up.

Open Office and Microsoft Office
I have mostly used Microsoft Office throughout my time on the computer this past thirty years but I have also used Open Office. At the moment I am using Open Office and it has changed the look of my transcriptions slightly. I may return to Microsoft Office in the near future because I like the extra features that it offers. I just haven't gotten around to doing that yet.
I rather like Windows 8 for the dual screen - one for working and one for leisure although one might say that all my time is leisure in that I am retired! The apps screen I have set up to let me look at various items at a quick glance without having to go through various screens to reach the desired website.
I shall gradually get up to speed and back to my normal pace with transcriptions and reading. I have a number of items that I have received for the Blake family.
I am also doing the MOOC for Ireland research. That begins this week and will be handy for looking at the Blake family in Ireland.

Will of John Blake, yeoman, of Lanreth, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/231/346, probated 22 Jun 1653
John Blake the testator is the husband of Johane Blake whose will was blogged yesterday. Good fortune with this set of wills as John identifies similar people although again does not clearly say how he is related to some of them. Fortunately putting the wills together gives a slightly clearer picture of this Blake family at Lanreath.
He does mention Henry Blake who also lived at Lanreath in this time period and was married to Lowdye Helman 15 Jun 1619. He also mentions a Jonathan Blake although does not identify either of these men as his brothers. Jonathan Blake has a son John. Henry Blake has children: Charity, Joane, John, and Jonathan. He also mentions a White family, a Caren family and the children of his sister Watson. Also the Heare family, the Cowling, Collin[g] family and the Wilcock family.
John Cowling is known to be his nephew from his wife's will. Does he mention sister Watson because she is deceased and he is remembering her children?
From the LDS there was a John Blake baptized 20 Nov 1568 son of Thomas Blake. Also, relating to the will there was a John Blake son of Jonathan Blake baptized 17 Sep 1619 also at |Lanreath.
There are a number of children baptized by John Blake at Lanreath on the IGI:
William baptized 9 Nov 1567
Henry baptized 18 Mar 1569
Elizabeth baptized 29 Oct 1572
A little information on this Blake family but can not yet link them altogether; perhaps later wills will assist.

Will of Joane Blake, widow, Lanreath, Cornwall - The National Archives 11/250/287, probated 8 Oct 1655
Joane Blake widow is the testatrix and she is perhaps married to the John that she mentions is Uncle to John Cowling. John is the legatee who receives the most in both money and goods in the will below.
I will return to this will if there is another that fits into it as looking at Family Search did not lead to any particular clues on this Blake family.

Dog sitting and rain
Plans are somewhat curtailed for both blogging and gardening today. We are dog sitting but plan to return to blogging on Monday.
Hopefully it is warmer and sunnier where any of my readers are - it is a blustery windy cold day here. Hints of snow in the upper Ottawa Valley but hopefully not here!

Will of Jane Blake, widow of Padstow, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/224/73, probated 5 Jul 1652
Jane Blake the testator is a widow of Padstow Cornwall. She mentions her sons Reynold Blake and William Blake. Her daughters names are not mentioned but her sons in law are Richard Smith (has a daughter Jane) and William Comely.
I found the name of her son Reynold to be most interesting as there is a will for a Reynold Blake probated 24 May 1529 and he lived in London. He was a weaver. But he and his wife did not leave any children living at the time of their death nor any descendants.
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2012/11/will-of-reynold-blake-weaver-london.html
However this is 150 years later and perhaps there were times when the forename Reynold was popular.
Looking at the OPC Cornwall site for Padstow there was a William Blake baptized 1629 at Padstow and the son of Maximilian (and likely Margaret) so not this family likely. No baptisms recorded for a Reynold Blake in Cornwall on the site. The marriage of Maxezemillion Blake and Margret Knebon is recorded in 1615. No other Blake marriages in the time period of this Jane Blake. No burial fits for this Jane Blake at Padstow or any other of the listed burials for Jane Blake in Cornwall.
I also searched the LDS site but did not find any further information for Reynold Blake. I did not find marriages for either of her daughters.

Will of George Blake of Bodwin Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/498/56, probated 3 Nov 1707
The testator George Blake is recorded as being at Bodwin Cornwall. I suspect this is an error and that it should read Bodmin Cornwall and will investigate that further. No children are mentioned in the will only his mother Mary Walbridge of White Chappell Middlesex and his wife Sarah Blake of Bodwin Cornwall. Did Sarah continue living there and did they have children? His mother Mary Walbridge probated the will in 1707.
An interesting will but no further details could be found on George Blake or Sarah Blake in Bodmin Cornwall.

Will of Edward Blake of Ladock, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/1991/55 , probated 23 Jan 1844
The testator Edward Blake mentions his sons Edward and William.
Ladock is 2 miles NNW of Probus just to place these two villages in Cornwall.
There is an online project “The Blake Family Tree” which lists John Blake married to Jane as the ancestor of the Blake family in the Ladock area. The children of this couple are listed as John Blake b 1778, Jane Blake b 1781, Edward Blake b 1784, Samuel Blake b 1787, Joseph Blake b 1790 at Ladock and he was a farmer and the ancestor of John Varcoe Blake who did emigrate to America, and Richard Blake b 1792. http://www.jeanajin.webspace.virginmedia.com/pages/varcoe.htm
I will attempt to find original source records that may provide more details. That brings me to the Cornwall online Parish Clerks site which I have been referring to the last couple of days:
http://www.cornwall-opc.org/index.htm
There are two marriages listed at Ladock for the Blake family namely (later I do find others and not really sure why I didn't find them with this first search):
Samuel Clemo and Jane Blake (witness John Blake) in 1803
Samuel Blake and Prudence Blake (witness Catherine Blake and Elizabeth Bennett) in 1811
There are 23 baptisms listed at Ladock for the Blake family namely:
Edward and Ann Blake family
Elizabeth Blake 1763
Edward Blake 1764
John and Frances Blake family
John 1779
Thomas 1782
Joseph 1784
Richard 1786
William 1787
John and Ann Blake family
James 1781
John and Jane Blake family
Jane 1781
Edward 1784
Samuel 1787
Joseph 1790
Richard 1792
Edward and Mary Blake family
Prudence 1791
Edward and Margaret Blake family
John Hawke 1815 (died at the age of 2, 19 Feb 1817)
Jane 1817
Samuel and Prudence Blake family
John 1812
Elizabeth 1816
Joseph and Mary Philippa Faro Blake family
Mary Hicks Vercoe 1827
Samuel Varcoe 1830
Francis Vercoe 1836
Jane Frances 1847
The John and Jane Blake family appear to match the online family record with the later family groups being grandchildren of John and Jane Blake perhaps namely Samuel and Joseph. The Edward and Mary and Edward and Margaret families do not have Edward and William the sons of the testator.
The burials (27 in total) provide some information but will not list them all here. Edward Blake, testator, was buried 4 Oct 1843 and he resided at Downs Gate, Ladock and was listed as 79 years of age giving him a year of birth circa 1765 which places him in the Edward and Ann Blake family with baptism in 1764. His sister Elizabeth has perhaps been buried in 1763 (the details for this burial do not give any further information than name and date of burial at Ladock). There was an Edward Blake buried at Lacock 30 Apr 1811 and an Anne Blake buried at Lacock 4 Apr 1802. The interesting item would be to relate the Edward and Ann, John and Frances, John and Ann, John and Jane families.
There are several Edward Blake marriages in Cornwall in Ladock and Probus namely:
Edward Blake and Anne Cock married at Ladock 10 Jan 1761 witnesses Joseph Jolly and Michael Jenking
Edward Blake and Catherine Williams married at Probus 3 Dec 1796 witnesses William Williams and William Bone (groom of Laddock and bride of Probus)
Edward Blake and Margaret Hawke married 20 Nov 1811 at Ladock witnesses Walter Puckey, Grace Puckey with the groom a yeoman and the bride a spinster
There was a Catherine Blake buried 4 Oct 1841 age 73 years from Downs Gate, Ladock. The will is dated 3 Jun 1841 and this is likely the wife of the testator.
The next step is to find the baptisms of the children of Edward and Catherine Blake. There are none recorded on the OPC webpages for Edward and William with parents Edward and Catherine Blake.
The family search website records the baptism of Edward Blake 21 Sep 1800 at Bodmin Cornwall and the son of Edward and Catherine Blake.
There is also a John Blake baptized 15 Apr 1804 and a William Blake baptized 16 Jun 1805 both at Bodmin Cornwall and sons of Edward and Catherine Blake.
Bodmin is 16 miles NE of Ladock and 17 miles NE of Probus. Perhaps this will give clues as to the origin of this Blake family in Cornwall.
On the 1841 census for Ladock Enumeration District 9 (Book 3 Folio 7 Page 7) at Horse Pool Park is found the Anthony Rose family (wife Mary, daughters Jane, Ann, Mary and sons John, William, James) and with them Edward and Catherine Blake listed as Independent and born in the county of Cornwall. Their ages 75 and 70. The Rose family are witnesses to the will of Edward. Living at Gear Downs (perhaps next door but listed next to Horse Pool Park) is the Brewer family and Sarah the head of the family is 50 years and independent with her sons managing the farm.

Tweddle Family of Lanercost, Cumberland Research Day and the Will of Thomas Tweddle
The plan for this particular day was to publish the will of Thomas Tweddle probated in 1794 but that will wait for the next Tweddle Family research day. Just noticed I still had it in draft form and it will be about six weeks before I return to the Tweddle Family.
Gardening is in full swing. We have dug the main garden (used to rotatill it but I am not up to running that enormous machine). I can use a shovel a whole lot easier. Almost all the flower beds have been worked up and weeded and we put in a second row of ornamental bricks around our flower beds. We moved two cubic yards of earth to fill in the lawn and grass should soon be growing with all the rain and cool weather to come in the next couple of weeks. But the next big event is to actually cultivate the vegetable garden and then plant it.

Will of Catharine Blake, widow, Launceston, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/1583/135, probated 9 Aug 1816
Catharine Blake widow is the testator and lists her abode as Launceston, Cornwall. There is a marriage of Richard Blake and Catherine Gerry in 1761 in the Cornwall Parish Registers found on archive.org. A researcher www.british-genealogy.com forum lists this marriage as 17 Feb 1762 (probably new style of dating) at St Mary Magdalene (Launceston). I also found this marriage on the OPC Launceston website http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/search-database/more-info/?t=marriages&id=744717 Richard Blake and Catherine Gerry 17 Feb 1762.
I found the marriage of Catharine Blake to William Legg 24 Jan 1788 at Saint David, Exeter, Devon. There was a Cathrine Blake baptized 2 Feb 1766 at St Thomas the Apostle, Cornwall with parents Richard Blake and Cathrine.
There was an Ann Blake baptized 16 Oct 1771 at Launceston daughter of Richard Blake. There was an Ann Blake married to Joseph Street 25 Sep 1793 at Boyton, Cornwall (M006200-2 Family Search). Joseph Street is listed on the 1841 census in Boyton, Cornwall with a birth date of 1801.
Discovering the name of the first grandchild listed in the will was somewhat of a challenge. But it would appear to be Romulus. Romulus Strike was baptized 4 Jan 1795 at Launceston, St Mary Magdalene son of Joseph and Ann. At some point I shall write and check to see if this was a possible transcription error. Higher up on the page for the will the forename Richard uses the same R for the initial letter of these two entries. Then the R is followed by an o possibly an m then a likely ulus.
This is possibly the Blake family at North Molton with Richard being a son of James and Elizabeth Blake baptized 23 Aug 1726 at North Molton. There were a number of Blake families at North Molton and a John Blake son of William and Elizabeth Blake did live at Launceston in the latter part of his life. He would have been a similar age to this Richard. At some point I need to purchase the Devon Parish Registers for North Molton after the early 1700s as I have transcribed these records from the beginning of the parish registers there to that time period and I discuss the Blake families at North Molton in my blog:

Will of Ann Blake, widow, Truro, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/1273/256, probated 27 Apr 1796
Ann Blake of Truro, Cornwall is the testatrix for this Blake will in Cornwall. Her nephew she names as Mr. Peter Tippet and he is perhaps the Peter Tippet married to Elizabeth Collyne 17 Sep 1758 at Truro. His parents appear to be Stephen Tippet and Mary and he was baptized 9 Sep 1733 at Truro. In 1722 Stephen Tippet married Mary Robberts at St Allen. St. Allen is north of Truro above five miles. I did not find a marriage for an Ann Robberts however to a Blake.
Peter and Elizabeth Tippet baptized the following children at St Mary Truro:
John baptized 19 Jun 1760
Mary baptized 25 Jun 1761
Edward Collins baptized 12 Aug 1762
Elizabeth Collins baptized 28 Dec 1764; buried 1 Jun 1765
Elizabeth Collins baptized 3 Mar 1768
Edward baptized 10 Aug 1769
Mary Ann baptized 13 Jun 1771
James Bridges baptized 18 Sep 1772
In Ann's will she mentions her nephew Peter and his children: John, James, Edward, Elizabeth and possibly a Jane.
She is likely the Mrs. Anne Blake buried at St Clement (residence Truro) 9 Apr 1796. She mentions dear James on line 22,23 below and I suspect her husband is James Blake but I did not find any entries that would fit this couple in the OPC Cornwall site.
No information on James Blake thus far but perhaps the other wills will be helpful in Cornwall. There is a lot of information on the Tippet family in this will.

Routledge of Bewcastle - Will of Elizabeth Routledge, widow, of Flatt, Bewcastle - Carlisle Record Office - probated 12 Oct 1784
My Routledge family has been blogged about a number of times and I tend these days to leave the study of Routledge (other than my direct line) to my cousin Thomas Routledge who has done so much research on the early history of our mutual family. His webpage down at the moment will be up again in the near future and I will make a post directing Routledge researchers to his new site. At the moment there is a Routledge Society which he has founded and looking to have Clan status once again because the Routledge family were Highlanders.
My time with the Routledge Research day will be spent on wills (paper copy) that I purchased from the Carlisle Record Office about five years ago now and my how that time has flown. I want to transcribe them but I do know that they do not directly pertain to my line other than the one administration for my 4x great grandfather Henry Routledge who was married to Margaret Tweddle. One of the few Oakshaw Routledge marriages that wasn't to another Routledge cousin.
The testator is Elizabeth Routledge, widow of John Routledge and they were married 11 May 1710 at Stapleton, Cumberland. Elizabeth was Elizabeth Dodgson. John was the son of William Routledge and Frances Little. John Routledge, husband of Elizabeth, had died by 1753 and I also have his will which I will transcribe.
They had ten children of whom six (and possibly more but not mentioned in the will) survived infancy.
Mary, the eldest, married Joseph Armstrong 15 Nov 1735 at Bewcastle and their daughter Elizabeth married George Routledge (my 4x great grandfather with Elizabeth being his second wife, his first wife was Grace Routledge daughter of Thomas Routledge of Hill and Mary Routledge of Kirkbeckstown). Elizabeth mentions her grand daughter Elizabeth Routledge wife of George Routledge and they married 1 Jun 1768 at Bewcastle. Thomas Armstrong was Elizabeth's brother and is the first grandchild mentioned.
Grace, second eldest, married John Dodgson 26 Nov 1741 at Bewcastle and they had five sons - Robert, John, Henry, William and Andrew. Elizabeth mentions only Robert, William and Andrew but both John and Henry did survive her so not really sure why they are left out.
Ann is the next daughter, third eldest, and Elizabeth has her married to Frank Forester. I need to review this as I have her married to Thomas Routledge. I found that marriage confusing anyway as Thomas was Ann's uncle so it is interesting to have that information from the will. The marriage of Francis Forrester of Kirkandrews-on-Esk and Ann Routledge 28 Nov 1745 at Bewcastle. I will correct that in my tree. Their children baptized at Kirk Andrews upon Esk were: John baptized 5 Sep 1747 and Elizabeth baptized 17 Dec 1753.
William is the fourth child and her eldest son. He married Jane Routledge and they had six children. William is to be her executor and not mentioned at this point in the will. He was known as Laird Willie.
There are two daughters named Jane and I suspect that neither survived to adulthood as not mentioned.
Isobel is the seventh child and she married William Crozer. I do not have this information so will search for that in the Parish Registers for Bewcastle. Marriage of William Crozier and Isobell Routledge both of Bewcastle and by Licence 4 Sep 1755. The Bewcastle Parish Registers lists William son of William Crozier of Borderrigg baptized 7 Jun 1756. Robert son of William Crozer 10 Jul 1757 at Woodside. William son of William Crozer baptized 10 Sep 1759 at Woodside.
Andrew was the next mentioned child after Ann and he lived at Flatt and then Stubb and married Mary Boustead 12 Nov 1755 at Bewcastle. I had only one child for this couple - John Routledge but also found Mary daughter of Andrew Routledge of Stubb baptized 11 Jan 1761 looking through the parish registers for Bewcastle.I wonder if Andrew is older than Isobel since he is mentioned before her.
Then two John baptisms and perhaps neither of these children survived to adulthood since not mentioned in the will.
The listing of these children comes from the Dodgson Manuscript. I have a death date for Elizabeth of 16 Feb 1784 from the Bewcastle Parish Registers giving her a year of birth circa 1682 because she was 102 years of age when she died. The Dodgson Manuscript has left the wife of John Routledge as unknown but quite clearly she was Elizabeth Dodgson as the children she lists matches the children listed by John Routledge of Flatt her husband who died by 1753.

Will of Andrew Blake, Cooper, St Breock, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/413/63, probated 11 Jan 1693
Andrew Blake is the testator and this is the first of fifteen Blake wills from Cornwall. There was a Blake family at St Breock and there are a number of documents in the National Archives concerning leases held by them at St Breock. Thomas son of Thomas Blake is mentioned 26 Dec 1691 as is Henry Blake son of Peter Blake, yeoman same lease 1691. Again in 1714 there was a lease for 99 years on the life of Peter Blake son of Henry Blake and secondly on the death of Thomas Blake son of Thomas Blake, yeoman. in 1663 there is mention of Thomas Blake, son of Reginald Blake, yeoman, deceased. Mention of Thomas Blake as appointed an attorney to deliver seisin. In 1612 Peter Blake yeoman and Mary his wife with a lease for 99 years (Breage parish). In 1630, Peter Blake of Breock, clerk and this is a lease in reversion for 99 years on the life of Richard Blake who was the son of Peter Blake of Breock, clerk (Peter's wife was Mary). In 1649 there is mention of an Andrew Blake of Ewe, yeoman and he appears to be related to John son of John Blake of Marhamchurch (wife is Elizabeth). These documents are all in the Cornwall Record Office and deal with the Arundell papers. Of interest St Ewe is just 16 miles south of St Breock.
Was Andrew part of this family? Impossible to tell at the moment.

I have written at length about my Sproxton family of Great Driffield and I have managed to trace them as far back as it is possible in the Parish Registers at Hutton Cranswick - at least I think I have. I need to transcribe the years before the mid to early 1600s to have a better look for my Sproxton family. Richard Sproxton married to Ann Harland was the first of the Sproxton family to live at Great Driffield and prior to that the Sproxton family was at Hutton Cranswick.
Since I collected hundreds of images of the parish registers of Great Driffield I mentioned two years ago that I would transcribe them as I was able and that would be the use of my Sproxton Research day. I also have hundreds of images of the parish registers of Hutton Cranswick. The debate is on in my mind which would be the most valuable to me for these families. I have uncovered all the Great Driffield records for the Sproxton family. However, the Harland family were at Great Driffield back into the mid 1600s and I have not yet pulled all their records. Consequently, although drawn to doing Hutton Cranswick first I have pulled all the information from Hutton Cranswick back into the mid to earlier 1600s I will continue with Great Driffield repeating the beginning because my ability to transcribe has improved and I left off with Baptisms to begin with the year 1570.

Will of John Blake of Ely, Cambridgeshire - The National Archives PROB 11/66/319, probated 8 Feb 1583/1584
John Blake lives at Ely, Cambridgeshire and has brothers Thomas, Francis and Jasper and his mother has remarried and is named Beatrice Killingworth. His Uncle is named Thomas Badgcroft.
Beatrice Killingworth is the wife of Richard Killingworthe and they married 18 Jan 1571 at Wimbotsham, Norfolk. Beatrix Badgcroft married Peter Blake of Wimbotsham, Norfolk. They had four children as mentioned in the will. John the testator, then Thomas followed by Francis and then Jasper. Francis was baptized 19 Dec 1564 at Wimbotsham.
The Visitation of Norfolk 1563, 1589, and 1613 does not list the sons in this order. Jasper is named as the eldest son then John, Thomas and Frances. Given that the least amount of money was given to Jasper and the same to Thomas and Frances the possibility is that Jasper has already inherited and Thomas gives him a token sum whilst reserving his funds for his two brothers who have not inherited as eldest son. The linchpin is the mother of John in that Beatrice Killingworth is known to have been the widow of Peter Blake of Wimbotsham.
In Norfolk Archaeology, Volume 2 on page 142 (Google Books with search term will of peter blake wimbotsham) the Manor of Wimbotsham courts:
Peter Blake, gentleman, held his first court 9 Edward 4 (1469/1470)
Jasper Blake held his first court 17 Hen VIII (1525/1526)
Beatrice, widow of Peter Blake (son of Jasper), held her first court 14 Elizabeth (1571/72)
Hence Peter Blake (husband of Beatrice) must have died by 1571. There isn't a date for a court held by Peter Blake the husband of Beatrice but his father Jasper held court first in 1525.
The will of Peter Blake was dated 16 Oct 1570 according to an online website. The will was probated in the Archdeaconry of Norfolk. Peter was the executor of his father Jasper's will of 17 Jul 1547. The will of Jasper mentioned daughter sAlys, Ele Blyke, sons Harry, Thomas, Peter and John and wife Ann (formerly married to John Bastard). His executors were son Peter Blake and Richard Bachecroft with supervisor Osbert Moundeford. The will of Peter mentioned his sons John, Thomas, Francis and Jasper, wife Beatrice and brother in law Christopher Bachecroft with executors his wife Beatrice and brother in law Thomas Bachecroft with supervisor Francis Gaudy. The will of Jasper apparently allowed for aging of Peter in that he was a minor as of 17 Jul 1547 but would be 21 years of age on Holy Thursday (1 Apr 1548) hence he was born 1 Apr 1527.
Does this help with determining that the Jasper Blake who was the immigrant to Hampton New Hampshire in 1640 was of this line? It at least verifies that there was a Jasper born prior to 1570 at Wimbotsham and that he survived at least until 1583 when his brother John (testator below) wrote his will 12th December.

Cobb family at Lund near Beverley and Kilnwick on the Wolds, East Riding of Yorkshire
Elizabeth Cobb is my 3x great grandmother and she married Robert Gray 13 Jan 1806 at Lund near Beverley but they lived at Etton. Elizabeth was described as of the parish of Lund and Robert of the parish of Etton in their marriage registration.
I blogged on my Cobb family two years ago:
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2011/05/cobb-at-lund-and-kilnwick-east.html
and the research decision at that time was to transcribe the land records that I had collected at the Family History Centre in 2008 for Lund, Etton and Cherry Burton. Yesterday I did do one set each for Holme on the Wolds 1787, Cherry Burton 1800 and Lund 1813-1814.
I shall have a look at all the records that I photographed and make a list of them and mention the quality of the image and then decide which ones to transcribe. The original file is very legible; my lack of experience in photographing microfilm on a microfilm reader was the cause of my poor images.

My next research day for the Cobb family I will pick some of these to transcribe.
