Last three days of eye drops

One eye drop at 6 am today, tomorrow and Wednesday and I am finished with eye drops. It is still easy for me to strain my last operated eye so do take it rather easy with my work and will for another six weeks just to give it lots of time to rest and relax. Still no work on the Blake Newsletter but will try to do that this week. Then I have the Kipp Newsletter for the first of August and hopefully by September really back on track including writing my two books - one on Blake of Andover, Hampshire, England and one on the Pencombe family of North Molton, Devon. I am into family charting coming down from the earliest records in both of these books now and that is pretty intensive work so will only do a couple of hours a day in the beginning.

Today I shall watch Church on YouTube since I missed yesterday. It is also cleaning day and the basement is up first. Yesterday after we got home we cleared out one bookcase and will now try to find it a good home as it is in good shape. The items on that bookcase have already found a new home or are being given away to Salvation Army. The downsizing continues but at a pace that is doable and allows me to really be kind to the many items that represent our past - Edward and I. This time it will be the punch bowl that we used at the Off to Western Social that we started in the mid 80s. The girls loved being there and helping out and it was an opportunity for local students going to Western University to see who was going and whether or not they knew anyone. It worked well although it is now many years since we have done that; I think we may have done about ten years now as I look back.

Other than that it is a cleaning day and the basement is so much easier to clean now as it is emptier and emptier. If I am able to find a small house in the next year or two I need to have a lot less stuff both for my own ability to maintain it and to make it easier for my children when I am no longer able to maintain a home around me to downsize me entirely!

Beautiful weekend at the cottage and greatly enjoyed. I was tempted to play soccer but did not do that either. Must protect that eye for a while yet but it will always be tempting to play soccer and go swimming and all of those exciting fun things that I can still manage to do easily!

Garden doing wonderfully and we are enjoying the lettuces, tiny tomatoes and lots of herbs at the moment; one cucumber as well now off the vine. Plus all the raspberries and I should have picked some currants and gooseberries but left them for the birds who have eagerly eaten them. Birds back at the swinging feeder and the other feeder now out of commission and will be taken down soon.

Out of touch on the world news for the moment and must catch back up. Bravo to Poland considering shooting down bombs directed at Ukraine. Russia is a very sinful country; so greedy and that has been the case for as long as I can remember as they attack Ukraine in so many different ways through the past century. Hopefully the war in Gaza soon over; Hamas is a terrorist group and must be eliminated from our world so that we can have peace.

Sad that gun violence has once again happened in the country of our neighbour the United States of America. That gun violence may disappear from the country of our neighbour.

Breakfast next and on to the day.
