I must admit that I find this notion that one can occupy a position in government in Canada which has as its head a Monarch and not swear an oath which is really a sign of respect for our country to be quite lame. We have done well by the Monarchy and we have also done well to them fighting to defend the UK in two World Wars but we were also fighting for ourselves as one can see that tyrants do not stop at borders if the opportunity presents itself they will attack everyone that they can and like animals destroy everything in their path.
So not swear an oath to uphold the government of Canada which has as its head King Charles III maybe you should pick another occupation. I wonder at your loyalty to Canada in that case. Yes I realize each provincial politician must be loyal to their province but the province isn't a standalone - it is an integral part of Canada.
