50th Wedding Anniversary trip

Ed and I decided a year ago that we would celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to the British Isles. We found one at Insight that really appealed to us (plus we have traveled with them before as both Insight and Trafalgar since they are owned by the same umbrella company). Preparations for our trip had begun in August 2015 with the booking of our trip which was to begin on the 9th of August 2016 with our flight to London Heathrow and would include the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh (this has only a short time frame in any given year so we booked way ahead to ensure that we would be there and our trip was a guaranteed departure). Our return would actually coincide with our 50th Anniversary on the 3rd of September 2016. Everything went as planned and we are now home having enjoyed a wonderful whirlwind tour through England, Scotland, the Orkneys, Ireland (Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic), Wales and England once again. I highly recommend the tour as a really good view of the entire British Isles in just 26 days. I will be publishing my blog of the trip from my diary notes and with images which Edward took during the trip.

In October I hope to return to transcribing wills and publishing of family trees.
