The Tremblay family has been separated into generations and I will review the transcriptions done the last research day which was 4 May 2011 and make any necessary corrections or changes that I can do at this time and then carry on with further transcriptions for this post.
The marriage of Lucien Tremblay and Marie Bernard transcription review led to an interesting revelation with the bride's cousin Louis Blondin dit _uce appearing to be an important part of the marriage lines. I am somewhat stumped with the Blondin family line and this may prove to be helpful when I work on that line.
The parents of Lucien Tremblay were thus identified as Michel Tremblay and Ursule Gagnon who were themselves married 4 Jun 1793 at Baie St Paul.

The parents of Pierre Patri thus being identified as Pierre Patri and Marie Magdalen Deniau who were themselves married 29 Jan 1748 at St Michel. One of the very few errors that I have found in Tanguay concerns the father of Pierre Patry married to Marie Girard as he has directed one back to André III. The parents of this Pierre Patry are identified as René Patry and Marie Dupuis who were themselves married 27 Feb 1713 at Notre Dame de l'Assomption de Berthier, Bellechasse. The parents of René were André Patry and Henriette Cartois who were themselves married 23 Jul 1675 at Notre Dame Cathedral in Québec. André was born in France and so is the emigrant ancestor and would then be Generation 1.
René Patry married to Marie Dupuis is Generation 2. The present family is also descended from a second son of André and Henriette - André Patrie married to Catherine Pruneau 18 Nov 1711 at Berthier and they are also Generation 2
Pierre Patry (son of René) married to Marie Madeleine Daniau is Generation 3. Clement Patrie (son of André) married to Dorothee Marie Brochu 15 Jun 1744 at St Vallier, Bellechase is Generation 3. Tremblay and Labelle Families
The Tremblay Family is very well published at Library and Archives Canada. When I was first searching for the marriage of Rosalie Tremblay and Homère Grégoire I was finding it quite difficult to put this family together. I found them on the census and eventually I found their marriage 6 Apr 1902 at Embrun ON. But I still have not found their baptisms. Finding their marriage did give me their parents' names which was very helpful. The Marriage Registration reads: Groom Homère Grégoire, Age 25, Residence Embrun, Place of Birth Embrun, Bachelor, Labourer, Parents Antoine Grégoire and Delima Ladéroute, Bride Rosalie Tremblay, Age17, Residence Embrun, Place of Birth Grenville, Sinster, Parents Delphis Tremblay and Lucie Labelle, Witnesses: Israel Grégoire and Delphis Tremblay both of Embrun.
Part of my confusion with the wife of Antoine Grégoire was this entry Delima Ladéroute for his wife. Since she was also referred to as Rosa Séguin I wondered if I had two different wives but eventually I was able to prove they were one and the same person but more on that with the Séguin dit Ladéroute family.
The marriage of Adolphus Tremblay and Lucie Labelle was 4 Aug 1879 at Notre Dame de Sept Doleurs, Grenville Québec. Going from Delphis to Adolfus was simplified with the census.

Reaching back this one generation however did not take me back far enough to look at any of these families in Tanguay. I continued to work backwards with the marriages. Lucien Tremblay married to Marie Bernard 12 Feb 1833 at Montebello appeared to be the closest to Marie Blondin but did involve a fair amount of searching. The father of Marie Bernard was François Bernard dit LaFrançois and her mother Charlotte Robin. The parents of Lucien Tremblay were Michel Tremblay and Ursule Gagnon.

This only brought me back to 1833 on the Tremblay side. I decided to work my way back on the Tremblay side to see if I could find a marriage which Tanguay reported for this family. The mariage of Michel Tremblay and Ursule Gagnon 4 Jun 1793 at Baie St-Paul was a very faint scan but eventually I was able to read it sufficiently to determine that the parents of Michel Tremblay were Louis-Marie Tremblay and likely Marie Girard which is also the choice of many posting this couple to World Connect and published Tremblay family studies. Continuing to track the Tremblay family the marriage of Louis-Marie Tremblay and Marie-Anne Victoire Girard was celebrated 12 Jan 1757 at Baie St Paul. This marriage is in Tanguay and working backwards through Tanguay the parents of Louis-Marie Tremblay were Nicolas Tremblay and Louise Simard who married 18 Jan 1724 at Baie St Paul. The parents of Nicolas Tremblay were Pierre Tremblay and Marie Roussin (his second wife) who married 15 Nov 1685 at L'Ange-Gardien. Pierre's first marriage was to Madeleine Simard 3 Nov 1683 at Ste Anne. The parents of Pierre Tremblay were Pierre Tremblay and Ozanne Achon 2 Oct 1657 at Québec City. This first Pierre was the emigrant from France and will be Generation 1. Generation 2 is Pierre Tremblay his son. Generation 3 is Nicolas Tremblay. Generation 4 is Louis-Marie Tremblay. Generation 5 is Michel Tremblay. Generation 6 is Lucien Tremblay. Generation 7 is Joseph Delphis Tremblay. Generation 8 is Rosalie Tremblay who married Homère Grégoire.
The present generation is descended from two children of Pierre Tremblay and Ozanne Achon - Pierre as mentioned and Jeanne Tremblay who married Antoine Perron 15 Jan 1691 at L'Ange-Gardien. More on the Perron family later. Jeanne is in Generation 2.

Cecile is in Generation 4. I prepared the folders for the Tremblay family and the next research day for the Tremblay family will be spent collecting any missing registrations for them.
Returning now to the marriage of Joseph Delphis Tremblay and Lucie Labelle and looking at the parents of Lucie Labelle I found a marriage for François Labelle and Marcélline Lacroix 19 Feb 1855 at Notre Dame de Sept Doleurs, Grenville, Québec. Collecting this marriage I found the parents of François Labelle to be Antoine Labelle and Clémence Potvin who married 3 Jun 1834 at St Martin (Laval). From their marriage registration the parents of Antoine Labelle were Jean Baptiste Labelle and Louise Legault who in turn married 11 Jan 1808 at Ste Rose de Lima (Laval). This marriage is not listed in Tanguay and finding their marriage the parents of Jean Baptiste Labelle were Jean Baptiste Labelle and Marie Josephte Valiquette who married 30 Sep 1771 at St Vincent de Paul. Nor is this marriage in Tanguay and searching through the parents of Jean Baptiste Labelle were Jean François Labelle and Marie Madeleine Vandendaigue who married 24 Nov 1738 at St François de Sales. This marriage is listed in Tanguay and Madeleine was the first wife of Jean François Labelle. The parents of Jean François were Jean François Labelle and Denise Major who married 9 Sep 1711 and Pointe aux Trembles. The parents of Jean François Labelle were Guillaume Labelle and Anne Charbonneau who married 23 Nov 1671 at Notre Dame in Montréal. Guillaume Labelle is the emigrant as far as I can tell thus far so he is Generation 1. Checking to see if this is correct in the marriage registration but I can only find the Guillaume Label to Marie Garnier marriage in the Index (lists only the name of Groom and Bride) 23 Sep 1761. I note that the mother of Anne Charbonneau according to others is Marie Marguerite Garnier - perhaps the indexer made an error. This discrepancy must be worked out somehow. Checking the registers for Notre Dame in Montréal does not answer that question as they do not include marriages for 1671.
What we do know for sure is that Guillaume Labelle is likely the emigrant and so he is Generation 1. Jean François is Generation 2 and he married twice with two lines of descent (one from each marriage) but also the present generation is descended from four children of Guillaume Labelle and Anne Charbonneau. Secondly, Magdeleine Labelle married Louis Filiatreau 9 Jan 1700 at Repentigny and is in Generation 2. Thirdly, Catherine Labelle married Pierre Nadon 26 Apr 1711 (date of contract) at Ile de Jesus and is in Generation 2. Fourthly, Angélique Labelle married Joseph Ethier 28 Nov 1713 at St François de Sales and is in Generation 2.
Jean François married first Denise Major 9 Sep 1711 at Point aux Trembles and is in Generation 2. He married second Catherine Berloin dite Nantel 24 Apr 1718 at St François de Sales (Laval) and this marriage is also in Generation 2. Their daughter Marie Marguerite Labelle married Ignace Paquet and is in Generation 3. Jean François Labelle and Denise Major's son Jean François Labelle married Marie Madeleine Vandendaigue and he is in Generation 3 as well.
Generation 4 is Jean Baptiste Labelle married to Marie Josephte Valiquette.
Generation 5 is Jean Baptiste Labelle married to Louise Legault.
Generation 6 is Antoine Labelle married to Clémence Potvin.

Third Etienne Tremblay married to Marie Fortin 12 Nov 1715 at Baie St Paul. Etienne is in Generation 3. Their daughter Cecile Tremblay married Joseph Simard 16 Jan 1742 at Les Eboulements. Cecile is in Generation 4. I prepared the folders for the Tremblay family and the next research day for the Tremblay family will be spent collecting any missing registrations for them.
Returning now to the marriage of Joseph Delphis Tremblay and Lucie Labelle and looking at the parents of Lucie Labelle I found a marriage for François Labelle and Marcélline Lacroix 19 Feb 1855 at Notre Dame de Sept Doleurs, Grenville, Québec. Collecting this marriage I found the parents of François Labelle to be Antoine Labelle and Clémence Potvin who married 3 Jun 1834 at St Martin (Laval). From their marriage registration the parents of Antoine Labelle were Jean Baptiste Labelle and Louise Legault who in turn married 11 Jan 1808 at Ste Rose de Lima (Laval). This marriage is not listed in Tanguay and finding their marriage the parents of Jean Baptiste Labelle were Jean Baptiste Labelle and Marie Josephte Valiquette who married 30 Sep 1771 at St Vincent de Paul. Nor is this marriage in Tanguay and searching through the parents of Jean Baptiste Labelle were Jean François Labelle and Marie Madeleine Vandendaigue who married 24 Nov 1738 at St François de Sales. This marriage is listed in Tanguay and Madeleine was the first wife of Jean François Labelle. The parents of Jean François were Jean François Labelle and Denise Major who married 9 Sep 1711 and Pointe aux Trembles. The parents of Jean François Labelle were Guillaume Labelle and Anne Charbonneau who married 23 Nov 1671 at Notre Dame in Montréal. Guillaume Labelle is the emigrant as far as I can tell thus far so he is Generation 1. Checking to see if this is correct in the marriage registration but I can only find the Guillaume Label to Marie Garnier marriage in the Index (lists only the name of Groom and Bride) 23 Sep 1761. I note that the mother of Anne Charbonneau according to others is Marie Marguerite Garnier - perhaps the indexer made an error. This discrepancy must be worked out somehow. Checking the registers for Notre Dame in Montréal does not answer that question as they do not include marriages for 1671.
What we do know for sure is that Guillaume Labelle is likely the emigrant and so he is Generation 1. Jean François is Generation 2 and he married twice with two lines of descent (one from each marriage) but also the present generation is descended from four children of Guillaume Labelle and Anne Charbonneau. Secondly, Magdeleine Labelle married Louis Filiatreau 9 Jan 1700 at Repentigny and is in Generation 2. Thirdly, Catherine Labelle married Pierre Nadon 26 Apr 1711 (date of contract) at Ile de Jesus and is in Generation 2. Fourthly, Angélique Labelle married Joseph Ethier 28 Nov 1713 at St François de Sales and is in Generation 2.
Jean François married first Denise Major 9 Sep 1711 at Point aux Trembles and is in Generation 2. He married second Catherine Berloin dite Nantel 24 Apr 1718 at St François de Sales (Laval) and this marriage is also in Generation 2. Their daughter Marie Marguerite Labelle married Ignace Paquet and is in Generation 3. Jean François Labelle and Denise Major's son Jean François Labelle married Marie Madeleine Vandendaigue and he is in Generation 3 as well.
Generation 4 is Jean Baptiste Labelle married to Marie Josephte Valiquette.
Generation 5 is Jean Baptiste Labelle married to Louise Legault.
Generation 6 is Antoine Labelle married to Clémence Potvin.
Generation 7 is François Labelle married to Marcélline Lacroix.
Generation 8 is Lucie Labelle and she married Joseph Delphis Tremblay.
The next session on Tremblay and Labelle I will continue to pull out the scans for the baptisms, marriages and burials.

Bédard and Whélan families
Sorting the Bédard family into generational folders should enable me to now pull the other pertinent registrations from Ancestry or FamilySearch. I have accumulated a lot of the records but probably have as much again to download and save to files. The Bédard family lines include both sons of the emigrant Isaac Bédard and Marie Girard. Isaac and Marie were married 20 Mar 1644 in Chapelle Sainte-Marguerite, LaRochelle, Charente-Maritime, France. I do not have a baptism for Isaac (circa 1616 at St Sulpice de Paris, France) or Marie Girard said to have been baptized 16 Feb 1623 at Chapelle Sainte Marguerite, LaRochelle and the daughter of Simon Girard and Françoise Giraudet. This family is recorded as Generation I although they did emigrate to New France it is their son Isaac that I have placed in Generation 1although Isaac and Marie do not quite fit the criteria (were not married in New France), but they arrived in 1660 (father and son) where Jacques and Isaac were master carpenters with their wives and children arriving by 1663. Generation 2 of this family was also born in France Jacques was baptized 18 Dec 1644 at Chapelle Sainte Marguerite, LaRochelle and Louis 25 Feb 1655 as well. I would like to acquire the records for LaRochelle (these records I have from King's Daughters and Founding Mothers: The Filles du Roi 1663-1673 and written by Peter J Gagné) and will work away at that but moving forward Jacques married Elizabeth (Isabelle) Doucinet 4 Oct 1666 in Notre-Dame, Ville du Québec and Louis married Marie Madeleine Huppé. Elizabeth Doucinet was a Fille du Roi. I need to learn more about Marie Madeleine Huppé. I have not yet found the marriage registration for this couple. These two sons are both in Generation 2. Generation 3 has two sets of Bédard records for the two sons Charles François (son of Jacques) and Bernard (son of Louis). Generation 4 has the daughter of Bernard - Madeleine Marie who married Jean Pierre Villeneuve 23 Nov 1744 at Charlesbourg and this line then moves to the Villeneuve folder but Charles Joseph (son of Charles François) continues the Bédard line down. I shall have to see how well this works out but it appears to be a good way to look at the ancestral lines. The Legacy file will maintain the links between the families when I produce an ahnantafel chart showing the generations back for each level. The next time that I work on the Bédard family I shall start with Generation 12 and insert the relevant documentation which is the marriage of our son in law and daughter. Then I can ensure that the line back is correct although it also matches the published information on this family. It is more a matter of collecting the relevant documents - this family is readily traced back to the founding Bédard family.
I also sorted out the folders for the Whélan family and this is one of my brick walls. I know that Charles Alexandre Bédard married Marie Emélie Whélan 29 Jul 1863 at Eglise St Jean Baptiste, Québec. Her parents were listed as Jean Thomas Whelan and Emilie Fournier dite Larose. Both Charles, his father Pierre and Jean Thomas were all carpenters (all three men signed the marriage register). The marriage of Jean Thomas Whelan and Emilie Fournier dite Larose took place 13 Jan 1835 at Notre-Dame, Québec with the priest recording the names as Thomas Welland and Emilie Fournier dite Larose. Thomas Welland (painter) was the son of Thomas Welland and Elizabeth Pépin dite Lachance and Emilie Fournier dite Larose daughter of Jean Baptiste Fournier dit Larose and Elizabeth Labbé. Linking these families apears to be quite straightforward. On the 1871 census Thomas Whélan and Emilie Whélan are still at Quebec city and he is a carpenter (they have seven children listed (Emélie married in 1863) and lists his Origin as Français. My next research day I will concentrate on Thomas and see what I can discover about him. Tanguay lists only one entry for an alternative spelling of this name - Edouard Wehenlan and very scant information which appears to be a second wife Suzanne Power born at Ballobrican, Ireland. World Connect offers four trees for this family none of which provide any further information. The website Généalogie du Québec et de l'Acadie does not have this particular set of information and once I am convinced that I have sufficient proof I will add the information. Ancestry offers four trees for this line but none go back before Thomas Welland (Whelan) and Elizabeth Pépin dite Lachance.

Girard family of Lauzon, Bellechasse and Beaumont
I tackled the Girard family of Lauzon Lévis Québec yesterday and was quite successful. Marie Girard was the mother of Marie Josephte Patri and I managed to find her baptism at St Etienne Beaumont 2 May 1797. The index listed her as the daughter of Pierre Patry and Marie Girard. I then found the actual baptismal lines but found that the priest did not specify "fils" or "fille" but there had been a son Joseph born to this couple one year earlier and a check of the register revealed that he did not die before the birth of this child. I could not, however, find her burial. Although Marie Girard was born/baptized at Lauzon she married Pierre Patry 18 Nov 1782 at St Michel Bellechasse. Pierre was buried there 8 Sep 1821 but I haven't found a burial for Marie yet. Marie's parents were: Joseph Girard and Marie Marguerite Labrecque. They were married at St Etienne but Joseph was born at Lauzon with Marie Labrecque being born at Bellechasse. Joseph and Marie married 27 Feb 1763 at St Etienne Beaumont. I found Joseph's baptism at St Joseph de la Pointe de Lévis, Lauzon 1 May 1740. His parents were Claude Girard (baptized 28 Feb 1704 St Etienne Beaumont) and Suzanne Guay. They were married 27 Nov 1736 at St Joseph de la Pointe de Levis, Lauzon. Claude's parents were Jacques Girard (baptized 29 Sep 1662 at Québec City and Mathurine Poiré baptized 20 Dec 1672 at Québec City and they married 24 Apr 1687 at Québec (I think, still finding that marriage).
The parish registers for St Etienne, Beaumont are quite well done with an index which is fairly legible. I was easily able to find all the children born to Pierre Patry and Marie Girard.
I again looked at my Siderfin family for a short time. I need to take a couple of hours to work through all the material again before my correspondent gets back to me in a couple of weeks time.
