Roger King, the testator, is widowed and names his children Christopher, MaryWake,  William, Alice Crosse (wife of William Crosse), and Mary Wake. He lives at Alton, Hampshire.

Alton is about 27 miles from Upper Clatford. Unlikely to be related to my King family at Upper Clatford.

Edmund King, the testator, was married to Agnes (unknown).

There was a baptism for William King, Nov 1631, at Alton, Hampshire. (Family Search)

Although the Alton Parish Records do date back to 1615 for baptisms, 1629 for marriages and 1616 for burials, they do not appear to be online. Find my Past has only nine entries between 1590 and 1670.

As far as I can tell just the burial for Edmund King relates to this particular will.

Was this family always at Alton? There are King families in Alton back into the 1500s.

A search on Find My Past did not reveal any King families similar to this in Hampshire other than in the Alton area.

Edmund named his daughters. First, Jane Rout with sons Thomas and John and daughter Dorothy, her husband is likely David Rout who signed the will as a witness. Second
Elizabeth Vanner with son John and husband is John Vanner identified as a son in law. Third, Margery Nash with sons George and John and daughter Rachell. George Nash is identified as a son in law. Fourth, Agnes Manning and her son John Manning and daughter Elizabeth Manning.  He also named his sons, Edmund King the eldest with daughter Anne. Thomas and William are his other sons named in the will and his joint executors.

He identified his brother as Henry King.

Will of Henry Blake, Waggoner of Alton Hampshire, National Archives PROB 11/1991, Image Reference 90/79, probated 31 Jan 1844

Continuing with the Blake wills that I photographed at Kew from Hampshire. They are in numerical order of the *.pdf number assigned to them by the National Archives.

To place Henry Blake the testator in his location in Hampshire, he is living at Alton when he writes his will. Alton lies relatively in the middle of Hampshire, 17 miles north east of Winchester and 10 miles south south east of Basingstoke. The only death I find on FreeBMD for Henry Blake is in Winchester Registration District December quarter 1843. Perhaps he has died in the hospital away from Alton.

He mentions Charles Blake as his principal Legatee with his father as John Blake of Hamms Middlesex which is presumably East or West Ham in Middlesex. On the 1851 Census there is a Charles Blake living at Alton married to Charlotte and with three children Harry 16 years of age, Ann 12 years and James 9 years. All were born in Hampshire with Charles born at Preston Candover.

As I look at all these facts, I am remembering the Charles Blake family of Abbots Ann. Charles Gilbert Blake married Mary Marsh possibly at Preston Candover as I do not find their marriage on the Abbots Ann fiche. Their eldest son was Henry Blake although online I found him dying as a child of two years of age. He had a brother Charles who married Mary Charlotte Goodall and this does appear to be the family above living at Alton on the 1851 census. However Charles is the son of Charles not John as mentioned in the will. Possibly a coincidence only but worth noting in my blog for future reference as I look at the Abbots Ann Charles Blake/Mary Prince family. The family of Charles Gilbert Blake (parents Charles Blake and Jane Gilbert who married 6 Jan 1761 at Abbots Ann) did have a son John baptized 16 May 1777 for whom I have no further information.

I pulled up the marriage of Napoléon Vinette and Valerie Paquette which let me identify the parents of Napoléon as they were not identified on his marriage lines with Rosalie Cadieux and they were Isaac Vinette and Henrietta Demers.

The parents of Isaac thus identified as Guillaume Vinet dit Larente and Marie Isobel Rocbourne. The marriage of Guillaume Vinette and Marie Elisabeth Rocbrune was celebrated 9 Aug 1813 at Ste Geneviève (Pierrefonds).

The parents of Guillaume Vinette are thus identified as François Vinette and Elisabeth Daoust. The marriage of François Vinet and Elisabeth Daoust was celebrated 4 May 1785 at St Joachim de Pointe Claire. I will transcribe this one later as the print is very tiny but the parents of François are identified as Guillaume Vinet dit Larente and Marie Jammé dite Carière.

Their marriage was celebrated the 7 Jan 1760 at Pointe Claire. This one is also quite small print and I will work away at it but the parents of Guillaume Vinet dit Larente are identified as François Vinet dit Larente and Angélique Briseaux/Brisson. Tanguay identifies this surname as Brisson-St Onge. This marriage is recorded by him and he identifies the father of François as François Vinet married to Marguerite-Angélique André 1 Mar 1701 at Montréal.

The father of this François is identified as Barthélmi Vinet dit Larente who married Etiennette Alton 13 Jun 1672 at Montréal. Barthelémi is the emigrant ancestor and will be labelled as Generation 1.

François Vinet dit Larente married to Marguerite-Angélique André is Generation 2. Cunégonde Vinet is also a child of Barthelémi married to Jean François Dubois dit Brisebois 31 Aug 1693 at Montréal so she is also Generation 2.

François Vinet dit Larente married to Angélique Boisson dit St Onge is Generation 3.

Guillaume Larente dit Vinet married to Marie Anne Jammé dit Carière is Generation 4.

François Larente dit Vinet married to Elisabeth Daoust is Generation 5.

Guillaume Vinette dit Larente married to Marie Elisabeth Rocbrune is Generation 6.

Isaac Larente dit Vinet married to Henriette Demers is Generation 7. Adéline Vinette dit Larente is also a child of Guillaume and married to Eustache Clément dit Proulx 16 Oct 1854 at St Eustache and is Generation 7.

Joséph Napoléon Larente dit Vinet married to Rosalie Cadieux is Generation 8.

Rosalie Larente dit Vinet married to Maxime Dumoulin is Generation 9.

Next research session I will work on the transcriptions of the records and pull out more of the records for the Larente dit Vinet family.
