This marriage is in Tanguay as Pierre Pichet married to Marie-Angélique Jugnac. The parents of Pierre Pichet are named as Pierre Pichet and Scholastique Lesage who were married 24 Jul 1724 at Cap Santé (although Tanguay has only 1724 I did find their marriage lines). The parents of this Pierre are named as Adrien Pichet and Elisabeth Léveillé who were themselves married 22 Nov 1694 at Pointe aux Trembles. The parents of Adrien were identified as Pierre Pichet and Catherine Durand and they were married 25 Nov 1665 at Québec. Pierre's parents were married in France and he was born in France so he is the emigrant ancestor and Generation 1.
Adrien Piché married to Elisabeth Léveillé is Generation 2. The present generation is also descended from a sister of Adrien named Marie Catherine Piché and she married Antoine Bordeleau 5 Mar 1696 at Neuville (Porneuf) and will also be in Generation 2.
Pierre Piché married to Marie Scholastique Lesage is Generation 3.
Pierre Piché married to Marie Angélique Gignac is Generation 4.
Pierre Piché married to Marie Anne Lafrance is Generation 5.
Louis Piche married to Marie Louise Perreault is Generation 6.
Louis Piché married to Josette Bénoit dit Vaillancourt is Generation 7. The present generation may also be descended from Pierre Piché married to Adélaide Pimparé dite Tourangeau 27 Nov 1837 at Ste Scholastique as their daughter Adélaide Piché married Jean Baptiste Nepveu 7 May 1860 at Grenville. I am still finding links between Jean Baptiste Nepveu married to Léa Audet dite Lapointe and the above couple Jean Baptiste Nepveu and Adélaide Piché and Pierre Piché married to Adélaide Pimparé dite Tourangeau is Generation 7.

Audet dit Lapointe Family
Léa Lapointe married to Jean Baptiste Neveu proved to be just as difficult as Jean Baptiste Neveu had been initially. I decided to look at her siblings from the 1871 Census. Olive Lapointe is a widow and living with her are four children: Cordelia 10, Léa 8, Hyacinthe 6 and Elie 3. In 1881 again Olive Lapointe is listed with Hyacinthe and Elie. A stroke of good luck finds Olive Richer (mother in law) living with Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Neveu on the 1901 Census. At St Hermas, Deux Montagnes in the Church of St Jerome, Olive Richer married François Audet. In both cases they were widowed but I managed to find their first marriages:
Olive Richer married Jean Baptiste Brunet 4 Nov 1842 at St Jerome and her parents were Bernard Richer and Adelaide Proulx.
François Audet dit Lapointe married Ursule Richer 19 July 1835 and his parents were Pierre Audet dit Lapointe and Geneviève Plouff.
Léa's parents were then François dit Lapointe and Olive Richer. It was a round about way to get around not having the marriage registration for Léa Lapointe and Jean Baptiste Neveu.
Looking at the Audet family in Tanguay, I did discover that Audet-Lapointe was included in his charting. However the marriage of Pierre and Geneviève was not listed. The marriage of Pierre Audet and Geneviève Plouff was celebrated at St Martin in Laval 29 Jan 1793.
Parents of Pierre Audet were Jean François Audet and Thérèse Létourneau and this marriage is listed in Tanguay 24 Jan 1763. It is at this point that I will start to pull the marriage registration scan. Using Tanguay the father of François was also François and he married Marie Madeleine Baillargeon 19 Nov 1736 at St Laurent, Ile d'Orléans. The father of this François was again François Audet dit Lapointe married to Marguerite Bernard 3 Jun 1709 at St Laurent. The father of François was Nicolas Audet married to Madelaine Després 15 Sep 1670 at Ste Famille, Ile d'Orléans. Nicolas was born in France and is the emigrant ancestor, Madelaine was a Fille du Rois.
I can now separate the images that I have into folders with Léa Lapointe being Generation 7.
As it turns out, there are two lines of descent from Nicolas Audet with the second being from his son Jean Baptiste Audet (Odet) married to Marie Louise Godbout 16 Apr 1708 at St Laurent. Their daughter Marie Magdaleine Audet married Jacques Asselin 12 Nov 1725 at St Jean, Ile d'Orléans. This information is recorded in Tanguay and will eventually be revisited when I look at the Asselin family. Marie Magdaleine Audet is Generation 3.
My task the next day that I look at the Audet dit Lapointe family will be to collect the marriage, baptismal and burial registrations.

I found all the family signatures to be an absolute gem to store away in the family tree. This establishes the parents of Eugenie Neveu as the daughter of Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe. The 1911 Census gives us April 1861 as the month and year for his birth and he was 50 years old. Locating the marriage of Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe proved to be a difficult task.
Nosorigines is not helpful with the parents of Jean Baptiste Neveu. Checking ancestry online trees I do not find any help with Jean Baptiste but Philomène Neveu has several trees with a brother Jean Baptiste and Alexandre. Alexandre is clearly at Pointe Gatineau and Adelaide (mother of Alexandre and Philomène) is on the census in 1901 living with Philomène. I am not happy with my decision to place Jean Baptiste in the Jean Baptiste Neveu and Adelaide Piché family of a year ago. I think that I need more information to make this attachment. On the 1891 census Jean Baptiste Neveu (married to Léa Lapointe) is a Grocer a general. It would be good to find Adelaide on this census. On the 1911 census she appears to be living on her own.
I read the 1891 census for Pointe Gatineau and found John Neveu and Adelaide Neveu with their two youngest children living about four units away from Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe and their family. Alexandre and his family were living about 10 units away from John Neveu and Adelaide Neveu. Can one conclude from such information (and they are the only Neveu families at Pointe Gatineau) that Jean Baptiste is a son of Jean Baptiste and Adelaide? It would be so nice to find the marriage. It does seem odd that Jean Baptiste and Léa would marry in 1882 with their first living child in 1885. The burial of the one child in 1882 would tend to make one think they married in 1881 or early 1882. We do know that Jean Baptiste is still living with his parents on the 1881 census in June. Looking for a marriage in the latter part of 1881 might be a good idea and I will do that on my next research day. I will not begin my generation folders for the Neveu family until I am thoroughly convinced that Jean Baptiste Neveu and Adelaide Piché are indeed the parents of Jean Baptiste Neveu married to Léa Lapointe.

Neveu and Lapointe families
Continuing with the Neveu and Lapointe families, I did find a baptism for Benjamin Nepveu son of Jean Baptiste Nepveu and Adélaide Piché with godparents Pierre Piché and Adélaide Tourangeau which incidentally happen to be the names of Adélaide's parents. The birthdate for Benjamin is 12 April 1861 at Grénville and as I check the census there is only a Jean Baptiste in this family (later on the census 1901) where he records his date of birth as 11 April 1861. I feel comfortable with saying that this is Jean Baptiste and that his name is Jean Baptiste Benjamin Neveu with his baptism 28 Apr 1861 at Grénville.
Finding the marriage at Pointe Gatineau does not prove to be an easy task. The microfilm is very poor first of all and secondly the notation in the margin for Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe is for a burial not a marriage. The date is 27 Mar 1884 I think. It would appear that pages may be missing from this register on the microfilm. Hopefully I will be able to look at another copy of this register at some point.
The tree on ancestry that gave me the marriage date also has a mention of Jean Baptiste's journals being in the archives at the University of Ottawa. I shall try to see them on my next visit to that archives. With his own words linking back, I shall be happier with these connections since I am unable to find their marriage myself at this point in time. Finding the baptism was rather interesting though and no burial for a Benjamin Neveu. It is not unusual to give a different baptismal name than the name that a child eventually uses.
I shall use this material with a mention of location so that eventually I will find the actual marriage lines for Jean Baptiste and Léa in 1882.
Proving Léa still has the difficulty of finding her baptism. I have found the baptisms of her older siblings but hers has evaded me thus far. She records her date of birth as 6 Mar 1862 on the 1901 census. Looking at their death registrations in Ontario will be helpful. The burial registrations do not list their parents names. The name Neveu is frequent enough that assuming the connection without the marriage lines is a little chancy - the journals should prove interesting perhaps in making the links.
I believe I may have located a problem with Léa's baptism. Her date of birth should be 1863 from the census and her burial record. The page that would contain her baptism at St-Hermas has an incomplete image. I have written off to Ancestry to see if they can resolve that problem. I shall await the results of my query for that item. Good find for me actually as I hadn't noticed that all but one census records her as born in 1863 (of course I looked carefully at that one!).

Piché and Tourangeau families
Now proving the 3x great grandparents Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe, I have not yet found the baptism of Jean Baptiste Neveu although he states he is born 11 Apr 1861. I have found the baptisms for both of his parents. However the marriage registration for Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe at Pointe Gatineau 20 Sep 1882 is difficult to read and I am still working on that transcription. The parents I have taken from an online table but I am now trying to verify the information.
I did find the parents of Adélaide Piché from her baptism as Pierre Piché and Adélaide Tourangeau but would still like to verify the marriage of Jean Baptiste Neveu and Léa Lapointe before proceeding further back in time.
Since the biggest problem is finding the marriage of Jean Baptiste and Léa I decided to do some online searching and came across an interesting post to the Audet family message board:
In 1957, the Institut Généalogique Drouin in Montreal did our family tree. Innocent Audet mar.Reine Vincente, Nicolas Audet mar. Madelaine Després (1670), François Audet mar. Marguerite Bernard (1709), François Audet mar. Madeleine Baillargeon (1730), François Audet mar. Thérèse Létourneau (1763), Pierre Audet mar. As always substantiating this online information is always a first priority but as I glanced back through the records that I have looked at already I am realizing that this claims there is a son François from the marriage of François Audet and Madeleine Baillargeon which does not appear on other people's charts. Working my way back from François Audet Lapointe married to Oliver Richer 26 Feb 1852 at St-Hermas is a good start back. I need to prove Léa back at some point and this will give me those details. I am still needing the marriage lines for Léa and Jean-Baptiste and will continue that search. The LDS must be going to put the registers for Point Gatineau online as they have the index set up. Hopefully they will be more legible than the ones on Ancestry at the moment. It is good having so many groups working on this material.

I have been searching for information on the Neveu family for quite a while. I had good luck with searching finding them first on the census 1911, 1901, 1891, 1881 at Pte Gatineau PQ and then into the parish register for St François de la Sales at Pte Gatineau. This let me take them back a couple of generations leading me back to Grenville and St Benoit.
I decided to utilize the search engine of ancestry by breaking up the tree into four sections (each grandparent) and that proved to be highly successful as the search engine then selected records that fitted the data that I have on hand. I found at least 30 new items looking at the first branch of the tree. I make the trees private since my purpose in putting them up is to assist me in finding records. Eventually I will give all the information to our children to set up their own family tree webpage. That is probably a few years off as it will take me quite a bit of time to prove all of these lines.
Now I shall get back to proving the 3x great grandparents. I was getting bogged down trying to find particular marriages but using the Ancestry search engine has proven to be most successful. I also look at World Connect and do a Google search to see what other people have found as that is quite valuable in research as well I have found. Without family stories, researching family lines is quite difficult I noticed with my husband's research. Most of his family stories had been lost by the time that he started researching. Vague family lore about Dutchess County was about all he had to go on. His lines have been here since the 1600s with just one exception his great grandparents who came directly from Germany to New York and then up to Canada in 1846 and 1866 respectively.
