The Lauzon family in the latest generation were living at Sturgeon Falls ON. Joseph Télésphore Augustin Lauzon was baptized 11 May 1891 at Notre Dame de la Salette in Papineau and the son of Augustin Lauzon and Hélèna Brunet who were married 17 Sep 1889 at Notre Dame de la Salette. Télésphore married Mary Dora Lanoie 23 May 1910 at Sturgeon Falls.
Augustin Lauzon was baptized 21 Oct 1865 at St Grégoire de Nazianze in Buckingham and the son of Joseph Lauzon and Rosalie Thibaut. Joseph and Rosalie were married 26 Nov 1860 at St Grégoire de Nazianze.
Joseph was the son of Joseph Augustin Lauzon and Clémence Chaumont who were themselves married 24 Feb 1829 at Ste Anne des Plaines, Terrebonne. Joseph died 18 Mar 1893 at Ottawa ON.
Joseph Augustin Lauzon was born at Terrebonne (baptism to be found) and the son of Joseph Lauzon and Marie Catherine Fontigney dite St Jean. Joseph and Marie Catherine were married 30 Jul 1781 at Terrebonne. Joseph was baptized 3 Dec 1754 at Ste Rose and the son of Gilles Lauzon and Marie Anne Viau dit Lesperance who were themselves married 7 Feb 1752 at Rivière des Prairies near Montréal. Gilles was baptized 29 Jan 1723 at Rivière des Prairies.
Tanguay also verifies the marriage of Joseph Augustin and Marie Catherine in 1781 and then the father of Joseph Augustin as Gilles Lauzon married to Marie Anne Viau dit Lesperance. Gilles parents were Gilles Lauzon and Marie-Anne Groulx who married 25 Nov 1709 at Rivière des Prairies. This Gilles' parents were Gilles Lauzon and Marie Archambault who married 27 Nov 1656 at Montréal. Gilles was born in France and so he is Generation 1 in New France.
The present generation is descended from three sons of Gilles Lauzon and Marie Archambault.
Gilles married Marie-Anne Groulx (as above). Their son Gilles as above is Generation 2. Their daughter Catherine Lauzon married François Guerin dit Laneuville 29 Jan 1748 at Rivière des Prairies and is in Generation 2.
Michel Lauzon married Marie Anne Coiteux dit St Jean 15 Mar 1702 at Pointe aux Trembles and is Generation 2. Three of their children are ancestors of the present generation. Marie Anne Lauzon married Joseph Rouleau 21 Jan 1737 at Rivière des Prairies and is Generation 2. Marie Josephte Lauzon married Joseph Biroleau dit Lafleur 22 Jan 1731 at Riviére des Prairies and is Generation 2. Pierre Lauzon married Marie Jeanne Roy 12 Oct 1732 at Pointe Claire and is Generation 2 and their daughter Marie Jeanne Lauzon married Louis Daragon 8 Feb 1779 at Ste Geneviève (Pierrefonds) and is Generation 3.
Paul Lauzon married Marie Anne Quenneville 4 Nov 1697 at Basilique de Notre Dame, Montréal and is Generation 2. Two of their daughters are ancestors of the present generation. Madeleine Marie Lauzon married Pierre Brien dit Desrochers 12 Jan 1739 at Rivière des Prairies and is Generation 3. Marie Catherine Lauzon married François Chartran 20 Oct 1732 at Rivière des Prairies and is Generation 3.
Gilles Lauzon married to Marie Anne Viau dit Lesperance is Generation 3.
Joseph Lauzon married to Marie Catherine Fontigney dite St Jean is Generation 4.
Joseph Augustin Lauzon married to Clémence Chaumont is Generation 5.
Joseph Lauzon married to Rosalie Thibaut is Generation 6.
Augustin Lauzin married to Hélèna Brunet is Generation 7.
Joseph Telesphore Augustin Lauzon married to Mary Dora Lanoie is Generation 8. Their daughter is Generation 9.
Work to be done on the Lauzon family includes collecting all the baptism, marriage and burial records plus the census returns.

French Canadian ancestry - Lauzon
I had a very successful day looking at the Lauzon family and discovered a tree online which I shall pursue with the actual records. I tend to do genealogy from the respect of what others have done before me. The Lauzon family has been quite researched I have discovered with at least five distinct trees online tracing back to the founding couple Pierre Lauzon and Anne Boivin. The line I am looking at descends through their son Gilles and Marie Archambault, their son Gilles and Marie-Anne Grolx, their son Gilles and Marie Anne Viau dit Lesperance, their son Joseph and Marie Catherine Fontigney dite St Jean. This marriage I have found on Drouin and was the point that I was at in my research yesterday when I found the earlier information where I now need to locate the records. I have the marriage for Augustin (son of Joseph and Marie Catherine) who married Clemence Chaumont to their son Joseph married to Rosalie Thibaut. Their son Augustin married Hélèna Brunet at Notre Dame de la Salette, Papineau and their eldest son Joseph Telesphore Augustin Lauzon married Dora Lanoie at Sturgeon Falls in 1910. I wondered if this was correct but my good fortune yesterday was to find Augustin and Hélèna at Sturgeon Falls on the 1901 census so this marriage is now working for the tree.
I now have all the information for the tree for the Lauzon family back nine generations (chart is nine generations) once I find all the records before the marriage of Joseph Lauzon and Marie Catherine Fontigney dite St Jean. I would also like to find all the baptisms and burials before I actually give the chart away. I am still lacking information on some of the feeder lines into this family Brunet, Constantineau, Deguire dit LaRose, Brunet dit Lalang, Lanoie, Boileau, Rhéaume, and St Armour. For the first four I need two generations and for the next four I need three generations. So still quite a bit of work.
That still leaves me with three other main lines (Grégoire, Bédard and Mourier). I already know the Mourier line will be more difficult because the furtherest back member that I have traced thus far was born in France in 1845 (although still four generations have been born in Canada!). Amazingly in this entire family that I have researched thus far this is the only individual not born in Canada until we get back into the 1600s (earliest baptism thus far is 1639). An amazing number of French Canadian families (no duplicates thus far) is part of this entire tree. I am putting the emphasis on this research now because of the new baby coming in the spring (our daughter's first niece or nephew, her husband's brother's child). It would be so nice to have a chart all ready for the baby.
Today I shall find the proofs for the Lauzon family and then continue working on the other feeder families for this particular main line.
