Thomas Leech is identified as being buried at Mapledurwell 13 Dec 1763 (mentioned in the will below).
James Leech was buried 8 Feb 1736 at Mapledurwell.
George Leech was baptized 23 Oct 1758 son of Thomas and Mary Leech at Mapledurwell.

Charles Cotterell is possibly one of my 4x great grandfathers (I decided to do this next set of seven "ancestors" just because it appears to fit into the father's line for my paternal grandmother (her mother is known but the father can only be guessed at). Kimpton is a very small village in Hampshire not far from Upper Clatford and Andover.
Charles married Mary Bartlett 31 Dec 1786 at Woodborough, Wiltshire. Charles was baptized 19 Jul 1767 at Beechingstoke son of William Cotterell and Elizabeth Kempton who were themselves married 3 May 1760 at Wilsford near Pewsey. Elizabeth was baptized 27 Jun 1731 at Wilcot daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Kempton. William father of Charles was buried 5 Jan 1770 at Beechingstoke.
William and Elizabeth baptized three children at Beechingstoke:
William was baptized 24 May 1761
Charles was baptized 19 Jul 1767
Elizabeth was baptized 13 May 1770 and buried 6 Sep 1770 at Beechingstoke
Elizabeth Kempton married a second time to Robert Chandler 12 Jan 1773 at Beechingstoke. Charles would have been just six years old when his mother remarried and this family then appears at Woodborough where Elizabeth's second husband lives).
Charles Coterill married Mary Bartlett 31 Dec 1786 at Woodborough (location for Robert Chandler on the marriage registration). Charles their son was born 1786 at Woodborough according to the 1851 census. Charles, the father, is likely the Charles Cotterell buried at Fittleton 23 Sep 1810. The son Charles married Hannah Alderman 23 Oct 1824 at Kimpton and they baptized two children at Kimpton:
William baptized 12 Jun 1825; married Jane Sherwood 21 Feb 1852 at Kimpton
Mary baptized 2 Jun 1829; married Henry Chandler June quarter 1854 at Kimpton
William Cotterill married Jane Sherwood 21 Feb 1852 at Kimpton and they had four children at Kimpton:
Jane born circa 1854, married Francis Ford mar quarter 1879 at Mere
Ann born circa 1855, married William Henry Fisher dec quarter 1878 Pewsey RD
George baptized 6 Mar 1859; married twice, first Ann Matthews 28 Jun 1879 at Kimpton and Fanny Somner Dec quarter 1887 at Thanet, Kent.
Ellen was born circa 1869
I did try to find a baptism for William Cotterell married to Elizabeth Kempton/Kimpton but will work on that again as well as the baptism for their grandson Charles. Interestingly the Cotterel family appears earlier in the Rawlings family as the eldest daughter of William Rawlins and Mary Ford married Stephen Cotterel 28 Jan 1764 at Enford. Woodford is only ten miles from Enford where the Rawlins family lived. Stephen was perhaps the son of William Cotterel and baptized 8 Jan 1738 at Wilsford near Pewsey (2.5 miles from Woodford and 8 miles from Enford).I did consider that this could have been significant in the naming of my grandmother but I think 100 years later that is unlikely especially given that the Lywood surname of her maternal grandmother would have likely been chosen. More on the Lywood family in a couple of months.

Will of Nicholas Blake, Yeoman, Wootton Rivers, Wiltshire - The National Archives PROB 11/265/708, probated 21 Jul 1657
Nicholas Blake is the testator and he is known to me because he was mentioned in his kinsman’s will which was blogged earlier also of Wotton Rivers:

this was a will which was collected at Kew in 2012 because it was one of the oldest wills in Wiltshire having been probated in 1641.
Sixteen years later and the first will identifies this Nicholas Blake and his son Nicholas Blake so Nicholas Blake junior in the will is at least seventeen years of age since the will was written 31 Oct 1640.
The Nicholas Blake whose will was probated in 1641 is the Uncle of the present testator. So it is also known that the present testator has an Uncle Stephen as identified in the earlier will.
The present testator identifies his wife as Mary and his children as Nicholas, Mary, Elizabeth, Edward, Gertrude, Jane, and Thomas. The Stagg family is mentioned in both wills although not related to the testators.
Wootton Rivers is 4 miles south of Marlborough. In the area is Hungerford, Pewsey, Urchfont and the Collingborne villages. Interesting as it is not that far from Andover.
The Nicholas whose will was probated in 1641 is older as he mentions the son of his brother Stephen Edmond and that Edmond has sons Edmond and Stephen. Noting that the first testator asked to be buried at Milton Lilbourne which is seven miles south of Marlborough or nearly 2 miles from Wotton Rivers and 3 miles from Burbage. Definitely this family grouping needs to be examined with respect to the Blake family at Burbage.

48 thereof to remayne and continue in force And whereas Nicholas Blake

this was a will which was collected at Kew in 2012 because it was one of the oldest wills in Wiltshire having been probated in 1641.
Sixteen years later and the first will identifies this Nicholas Blake and his son Nicholas Blake so Nicholas Blake junior in the will is at least seventeen years of age since the will was written 31 Oct 1640.
The Nicholas Blake whose will was probated in 1641 is the Uncle of the present testator. So it is also known that the present testator has an Uncle Stephen as identified in the earlier will.
The present testator identifies his wife as Mary and his children as Nicholas, Mary, Elizabeth, Edward, Gertrude, Jane, and Thomas. The Stagg family is mentioned in both wills although not related to the testators.
Wootton Rivers is 4 miles south of Marlborough. In the area is Hungerford, Pewsey, Urchfont and the Collingborne villages. Interesting as it is not that far from Andover.
The Nicholas whose will was probated in 1641 is older as he mentions the son of his brother Stephen Edmond and that Edmond has sons Edmond and Stephen. Noting that the first testator asked to be buried at Milton Lilbourne which is seven miles south of Marlborough or nearly 2 miles from Wotton Rivers and 3 miles from Burbage. Definitely this family grouping needs to be examined with respect to the Blake family at Burbage.

1 This is the last Will and Testament

43 shall set apart such a sum of money as shall be necessary to make good and such
44 insufficiency or deficiency such money to be raised free from legacy duty and every
45 other deduction whatsoever and to be paid in preference to any other other legacy be-
46 foret given or bequeathed it being my meaning and desire that the clear sum of
47 Two thousand three hundred pounds at the least should be held on the trusts of
48 the bond Indenture of Settlement and subject as aforesaid upon trust in case my said
49 son Samuel Blake shall at the time of my decease receive under the trusts of the
50 said Indenture of Settlement any less sum than the sum of Five hundred pounds
51 clear that my said trustee or trustees to and shall set apart and pay to my said son
52 such a sum of money as shall together with ____ ___ to unite as my said son
53 shall so receive as aforesaid under the said Indenture of Settlement make up the
54 full amount of Five hundred pounds and in case my said son shall not at the
55 time of my decease receive any monies under the trusts of the said Indenture
56 Settlement then that my said Trustee or Trustees do and shall pay my said Son
57 the clear sum of five hundred pounds and I direct that whatever sum shall be

70 nefit of the said Ann Denny and her children or other issue born or to be born in
71 my lifetime including the power of appointing by will in favor of any husband of
72 the said Ann Denny as are in and by the said hereinbefore mentioned Indenture of
73 Settlement expressed and contained concerning the sum of one thousand pounds there
74 by settled in trust for the said Ann Denny for her separate use and for her children or
75 other issue as therein mentioned and I hereby nominate and appoint the said
76 Samuel Hine and Benjamin Chandler Executors of this my will and do au-
77 thorise and empower the executors or executor for the time being acting in the
78 execution of this my Will to pay and satisfy any debt owing or claimed to be owing
79 by or from me or my estate and any liabilities to which For my estate may be sub-
80 ject or allowed to be subject upon any evidence they or he may think proper and to
81 Accept any composition or any security real or personal for any debt owing to me or
82 my estate and to allow such time for the payment of any such debt of composition
83 for debt wether with or without taking security for the same as to such acting exe-
84 cutor or executors shall deem reasonable and also to compromise and compound or
85 submit to arbitration and adjust and settle all debts accounts transactions matters
86 and things which shall at the time of my decease be owing or claimed to be owing
87 from or to me or my estate or be departing or arise between me or my said execu-
88 tors or executor and any other person and for any of the purposes aforesaid to enter
89 into give to and execute such deeds or instruments of composition bankrupts certificates
90 releases levies or instruments of submission to arbitration and other instruments
91 acts deeds and things as the said executors or executor for the time being acting
92 in the execution of this my will shall think expedient and to abide by observe and
93 perform or contest or dispute any instrument or transaction which may have been
94 made or entered into as aforesaid or any award to be made in pursuance of any
95 such submission to arbitration as aforesaid and generally to act in relation to the premises
96 in such manner as they or he shall think expedient without being liable for any
97 els which may be occasioned thereby provided always and I hereby declare my will
98 to be that if the said Samuel Hine and Benjamin Chandler or either of them or
99 any future trustee or trustees to be appointed as hereinafter mentioned shall die or be
100 desirous of being discharged from or refuse or become incapable to act in the trust
101 hereby in them reposed as aforesaid then and so often as the same shall happen it
102 shall be lawful for the surviving or continuing trustee for the time being (and for
103 this purpose any trustee or trustees retiring from or declining to act in the aforesaid
104 trusts shall if willing to act in the execution of this present power be considered a
105 continuing trustee or continuing trustees or for the executors or administrators of
106 the surviving trustee for the time being by any writing or writings to appoint
107 any person or persons to be a trustee or trustees in the stead of the trustee or trustees
108 so dying or desiring to be discharged or refusing or becoming incapable to act as
109 aforesaid and that upon every such appointment all the trust premises shall be as-
110 signed and transferred in such manner and so as that the same may be effectually
111 vested in the new trustee or trustees solely or jointly with the surviving or continu-
112 ing trustee or trustees as the case may require and that every such now trustee or
113 Trustees shall have such and the same powers and authorities and direction to all
114 intents effects constructions and purposes whatsoever as if he had been originally
115 named by these presents nominated trustee provided always and I do hereby declare
116 that the trustees hereby appointed to be appointed as aforesaid and their respect-
117 tive heirs executors administrators assigns shall be charged and chargeable

127 Trustee of this my Will who shall be of the profession of an attorney at Law or So-
128 licitor shall be entitled to make such and the like professional charges and to retain
129 and receive such and the like fees remunerations and allowances for all professional

A write up on the Benjafield Family has Thomas Blake, hatter of Sherborne, marrying a daughter (2nd) of Nathaniel Benjafield (proprietor of the Blandford Morning Post) and that the daughter was still living in 1773. Is this perhaps the father and mother of Thomas (present testator).

A further proof of the linkage as the will of Samuel Blake of Christchurch is mentioned. Thomas’ brothers John and William are mentioned as well. It would appear that John may be living at Parsons Green, Fulham, Middlesex in 1800 – 1822.

16 have been assigned by me and which trusts are for the benefit of my three children

18 queath all the money securities for money rights credits goods chattels and effects not
19 herebefore specifically disposed of and all my Personal Estate and Effects
20 whatsoever of or to which I now am or at the time of my decease may or shall
21 be possessed or entitled either at law or in equity for any estate or interest of which
22 I have power to dispose by this my Will unto the said Samuel Hine and Benjamin
23 Chandler their executors administrators and assigns upon trust that the said
24 Samuel Hine and Benjamin Chandler and the survivor of them and the execu-
25 tors or administrators of such survivor and their or his assigns do and shall as
26 soon as conveniently may be after my decease call in sell and dispose of and convert
27 into money all such and such part of my said personal estate hereinbefore bequeath-
28 ed to them as shall not consist of ready money and do and shall stand and be
29 possessed of and interested in the monies to arise from such calling in sale and dis-
30 position and conversion of and in the ready money of or to which I shall be pos-
31 sessed or entitled at the time of my decease upon trust that the said trustee or trus-
32 tees for the time being of this my will be and shall by and out of the same in the
33 first place pay and discharge my funeral and testamentary expences and all and singu-
34 lar my just debts of every sort and kind and do and shall in the next place retain and
35 pay all the costs charges and expences inexecuted to or to incurred in and about the
36 execution of the trusts of this my will and in the next place in case from any cause
37 whatever any insufficiency or deficiency should occur in the amount of the monies
38 to be received by the trustees of the said Indenture of Settlement so made by me as
39 aforesaid by reason whereof there shall remain after payment of all the costs and
40 expences professional or otherwise to be incurred by the said trustees of the said Inden
41 ture of Settlement any less sum than the clear sum of two thousand three hundred
42 pounds to be held on the trusts thereof then that my said trustee or trustees do and
43 shall set apart such a sum of money as shall be necessary to make good and such
44 insufficiency or deficiency such money to be raised free from legacy duty and every
45 other deduction whatsoever and to be paid in preference to any other other legacy be-
46 foret given or bequeathed it being my meaning and desire that the clear sum of
47 Two thousand three hundred pounds at the least should be held on the trusts of
48 the bond Indenture of Settlement and subject as aforesaid upon trust in case my said
49 son Samuel Blake shall at the time of my decease receive under the trusts of the
50 said Indenture of Settlement any less sum than the sum of Five hundred pounds
51 clear that my said trustee or trustees to and shall set apart and pay to my said son
52 such a sum of money as shall together with ____ ___ to unite as my said son
53 shall so receive as aforesaid under the said Indenture of Settlement make up the
54 full amount of Five hundred pounds and in case my said son shall not at the
55 time of my decease receive any monies under the trusts of the said Indenture

70 nefit of the said Ann Denny and her children or other issue born or to be born in
71 my lifetime including the power of appointing by will in favor of any husband of

73 Settlement expressed and contained concerning the sum of one thousand pounds there
74 by settled in trust for the said Ann Denny for her separate use and for her children or
75 other issue as therein mentioned and I hereby nominate and appoint the said
76 Samuel Hine and Benjamin Chandler Executors of this my will and do au-
77 thorise and empower the executors or executor for the time being acting in the
78 execution of this my Will to pay and satisfy any debt owing or claimed to be owing
79 by or from me or my estate and any liabilities to which For my estate may be sub-
80 ject or allowed to be subject upon any evidence they or he may think proper and to
81 Accept any composition or any security real or personal for any debt owing to me or
82 my estate and to allow such time for the payment of any such debt of composition
83 for debt wether with or without taking security for the same as to such acting exe-
84 cutor or executors shall deem reasonable and also to compromise and compound or
85 submit to arbitration and adjust and settle all debts accounts transactions matters
86 and things which shall at the time of my decease be owing or claimed to be owing
87 from or to me or my estate or be departing or arise between me or my said execu-
88 tors or executor and any other person and for any of the purposes aforesaid to enter
89 into give to and execute such deeds or instruments of composition bankrupts certificates
90 releases levies or instruments of submission to arbitration and other instruments
91 acts deeds and things as the said executors or executor for the time being acting
92 in the execution of this my will shall think expedient and to abide by observe and
93 perform or contest or dispute any instrument or transaction which may have been
94 made or entered into as aforesaid or any award to be made in pursuance of any
95 such submission to arbitration as aforesaid and generally to act in relation to the premises
96 in such manner as they or he shall think expedient without being liable for any
97 els which may be occasioned thereby provided always and I hereby declare my will
98 to be that if the said Samuel Hine and Benjamin Chandler or either of them or
99 any future trustee or trustees to be appointed as hereinafter mentioned shall die or be
100 desirous of being discharged from or refuse or become incapable to act in the trust
101 hereby in them reposed as aforesaid then and so often as the same shall happen it
102 shall be lawful for the surviving or continuing trustee for the time being (and for
103 this purpose any trustee or trustees retiring from or declining to act in the aforesaid
104 trusts shall if willing to act in the execution of this present power be considered a
105 continuing trustee or continuing trustees or for the executors or administrators of
106 the surviving trustee for the time being by any writing or writings to appoint
107 any person or persons to be a trustee or trustees in the stead of the trustee or trustees
108 so dying or desiring to be discharged or refusing or becoming incapable to act as
109 aforesaid and that upon every such appointment all the trust premises shall be as-
110 signed and transferred in such manner and so as that the same may be effectually
111 vested in the new trustee or trustees solely or jointly with the surviving or continu-
112 ing trustee or trustees as the case may require and that every such now trustee or
113 Trustees shall have such and the same powers and authorities and direction to all
114 intents effects constructions and purposes whatsoever as if he had been originally
115 named by these presents nominated trustee provided always and I do hereby declare
116 that the trustees hereby appointed to be appointed as aforesaid and their respect-

Will of Richard Buller, Merchant, London - The National Archives PROB 11/769/443, probated 9 May 1749
An interesting marriage in Find My Past at least the Vicar General Marriage Licence for Anne Watson and Richard Buller 1670. The present testator Richard Buller is a brother to William Watson Buller (will blogged: http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/02/will-of-william-watson-buller-merchant.html).
Boyd's Inhabitants of London lists this Richard Buller of St Olave Hart Street as having first married Helen Morris 17 Jan 1659 at St Olave Hart Street and he was a merchant and his son John was baptized 6 Nov 1660. He married second Anne Watson 17 Dec 1670 and he was a 33 year old widower at that time. Anne Watson of Maddam Scott Kent was 26 years of age.
The present testator Richard may be the Richard born circa 1666 and married 17 Dec 1691 at St Sepulchure to Bridget Williams also born 1666 and daughter of William Williams. Their son Richard was baptized 14 Dec 1693 at St Dionis and his mother died 3 Jun 1695 and was buried at St Dionis and Stepney. He then married Rebecca Finny at London Wall. A bit confusing on the dates as this second marriages appears to be 1691.
A few more details on William Watson Buller that he had a brother Richard. Finding him in Boyd's Inhabitants possibly gives a bit more detail. Plus I mentioned this Richard Buller in the will of Prudence Buller transcription: http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/03/will-of-prudence-buller-spinster-st.html .
This makes my question in that blog even more interesting: Who was the Richard Buller listed on the Hearth Tax in Saint Andrew Holborne in 1666. Is this the information which has convinced people that the father of William Watson Buller was Richard Buller married to Anne Watson and this will proves that Richard (testator) was a brother to William Watson Buller. However, still no information on the father of these two men.
Was Edward, father of Prudence Buller, a brother to Richard and William Watson?
There is a will for Richard Buller, English Merchant, probated 22 Jun 1691 that could prove to be very interesting. Must purchase it perhaps on the Buller day when it arrives.

Boyd's Inhabitants of London lists this Richard Buller of St Olave Hart Street as having first married Helen Morris 17 Jan 1659 at St Olave Hart Street and he was a merchant and his son John was baptized 6 Nov 1660. He married second Anne Watson 17 Dec 1670 and he was a 33 year old widower at that time. Anne Watson of Maddam Scott Kent was 26 years of age.
The present testator Richard may be the Richard born circa 1666 and married 17 Dec 1691 at St Sepulchure to Bridget Williams also born 1666 and daughter of William Williams. Their son Richard was baptized 14 Dec 1693 at St Dionis and his mother died 3 Jun 1695 and was buried at St Dionis and Stepney. He then married Rebecca Finny at London Wall. A bit confusing on the dates as this second marriages appears to be 1691.
A few more details on William Watson Buller that he had a brother Richard. Finding him in Boyd's Inhabitants possibly gives a bit more detail. Plus I mentioned this Richard Buller in the will of Prudence Buller transcription: http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/03/will-of-prudence-buller-spinster-st.html .
This makes my question in that blog even more interesting: Who was the Richard Buller listed on the Hearth Tax in Saint Andrew Holborne in 1666. Is this the information which has convinced people that the father of William Watson Buller was Richard Buller married to Anne Watson and this will proves that Richard (testator) was a brother to William Watson Buller. However, still no information on the father of these two men.
Was Edward, father of Prudence Buller, a brother to Richard and William Watson?
There is a will for Richard Buller, English Merchant, probated 22 Jun 1691 that could prove to be very interesting. Must purchase it perhaps on the Buller day when it arrives.

Will of Humphrey Blake, gentleman of Saint Giles without Cripplegate - National Archives PROB 11/360/154, probated 9 Jul 1679
Humphrey Blake of St Giles without Cripplegate in Middlesex is a descendant of the Over Stowey Somerset family. His parents were Humphrey Blake and Sarah Williams and his eldest brother was Robert Lord High Admiral during the Commonwealth period of English History. He was the second son of this family and married Sarah Sealy 10 Apr 1632 at Bridgwater Somerset (this from the Portbury Blake website mentioned below). They had five children: Robert, Anne, William, Sarah and Humphrey according to this website. I think there is a problem with this information and perhaps it will ferret itself out later. Watch for the will of Susanna Blake which was published 16 Nov 2013. I have come back to this will to add this new information.
Humphrey Blake and Sarah Williams (the testator's parents) had twelve children of whom two died as infants with their names being reused by the next in line (George and Benjamin). Humphrey was the eldest son of Robert Blake and Margaret Symonds with their other children being Anstice married to Robert Bockinge and William. Robert was the second eldest son of Humphrey Blake and Ann. This Humphrey buried at Overstowey Somerset 28 Dec 1558 and leaving his will which can be found on the following website:

This places the present testator into his ancestral line. But it is at Humphrey that there is no clearly established parentage for him. The Blake Pedigree chart indicates that John Blake son of William Blake of Lacock and Margaret Browne of Wablyn was the ancestor of Robert Blake Lord High Admiral. William Blake was the son of David Blake and Joane Mallet. The line then continues back to John Blake and Margaret Dyncham/Dinham/Denham first wife of John who was a son of Robert Blake and Avis Wallop. This David is not mentioned in the will of his father John and the citation is often made that this John did not have any male heirs of his name with his heirs in his will being his step son Richard Dauntsey and his daughter Jane Wroughtone nee Blake. A confusing item that I hope to work on when next we are in England. Working out the timeline the John (son of William Blake of Lacock and Margaret Browne of Wablyn) would be the father of Humphrey Blake buried at Overstowey in 1558. No will has been discovered at this time for this John Blake.

(fn. 99) A 99-year lease was assigned in 1651 by Thomas Dunstervile, haberdasher, to Edward Trussell and in 1654 by Trussell to Humphrey Blake. (fn. 1) In 1680 Blake's children Robert and Ann, wife of Christopher Todd, sold the lease to James Smithsby, woollen draper of Westminster, who bought the freehold from the Wentworths in 1681. Smithsby was soon succeeded by his daughters Margaret, wife of Sir Francis Head, and Ann, wife of Sir Hans Hamilton, Bt., whose portion, the easternmost, was in 1703 'Hambletons land'. (fn. 2) Ann's daughter Ann (d. 1771), wife of James Campbell, left her moiety to Margaret's descendants. Margaret (d. 1732) was succeeded by her son Sir John Head (d. 1769), whose moiety passed to his widow Jane and then to the daughters of his sister Ann Egerton, Charlotte (d. 1770), wife of William Hammond, and Jemima, wife of Edward Brydges, who inherited Ann Campbell's portion. Some 6½ a. were sold to John Allport in 1789 but most of the estate was still held in fractions by members of the Hammond and Brydges families in 1848, when they gave the site for St. Thomas's church in Nova Scotia Gardens.
