Active mind today

Vacuuming away and thoughts do come to me that I must write down. First and foremost I must do the Kipp Newsletter for the 1st which will only look at the yDNA results of the Big-Y that we did on Edward's kit. I will also publish the H11 Newsletter (the yearly version generally published 1st of February each year).

I did finally find a new dentist in walking distance (reasonable that is although I did not mind the walk up to St Joseph's Blvd probably as I continue to age it will be a step too far!). I will miss this dentist as he was very quick but probably the new one will be as well. So that was really good news as I want to be prepared for just in case the decision is made not to let me keep my license. I did not actually pass the eye vision test way back when I was just twenty one years of age. However, after the driving test it was decided that my not being able to see to read the actual street signs was not a big deal and I passed and especially now with the GPS not a real problem (I can see the intersection and everything around it very well). I never go anywhere without the GPS. However, I do not leave my own close  area on my own; always have a person in the car with me. My daughters learned their letters very young (around 2) and would read the letters off to me; not sure what they thought of that but then they didn't know that all mother's didn't ask their children to read the road signs at that young age! We will see how this eye test goes in two years as I will then be 80 and have had the cataract surgery I think. Not sure when that is and must keep it in my mind to ask if I am scheduled yet. The colonoscopy was much easier as I was told they would call me roughly the end of April to schedule and they did exactly almost to the day! So I was not wondering and knew to keep May clear. The method used for the colonoscopy was the same as I used when I was booking surgeries (the patient knew it would be in a certain month). Anyway time will tell on that.

The dentist is organized although I did go to the other dentist's office for 45 years. When we arrived here way back when I went over to the drug store (main floor of the medical centre) and asked if they knew if any dentists and doctors were taking patients and they were most helpful directing me to a French named doctor and the dentist the next floor up from him where they didn't recommend a dentist just said there was a number of them there. When I got to the doctor's office it turned out to be split between two people - one English speaking and one French speaking. It didn't matter to me as I had had a French speaking doctor where we lived before we moved here so was quite comfortable with either. But the two receptionists talked about it (rather strangely I felt since I was actually in the room) and the English-speaking doctor was the one we acquired. He turned out to be Edward's cousin which didn't concern me overly. I tend to have the English attitude somewhat in that regard - only first cousins are really cousins; the rest are distant relatives. I knew he wasn't Edward's first cousin I had met all of them. But I digress.

Certainly Edward and Gordon enjoyed their chats about the Kipp family and the time that they spent at the Ontario Genealogical Society Ottawa Branch although I can not exactly remember how many meetings Edward went to with Gordon (it was Gordon's idea but as I said to Edward back in the early 80s not for me; I wanted to be with the girls plus I was proofreading most days and liked my evenings free). Still like my evenings free to be honest; I am not a meeting person. Online is my style of meeting for sure. I only started going when I took on the Pincombe Profile (after a good deal of arm-twisting!) for my cousin George DeKay's Westminster History Books back in 2003. I was hoping some of that genealogy research might rub off but as it turned out I just took 42 courses at the National Institute for Genealogical Studies; excellent courses in English and Canadian Studies plus Methodology. And I ended up with a Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies (PLCGS). And a Pincombe Profile!

Now what other services do I need to be in walking distance. There is already a drug store; there is a grocery store (I can always get a taxi home or have it delivered), there is a physiotherapist and perhaps he might one day have a physician who does sports medicine as most if not all of my slip ups involve exercise strains. So the only person that requires me to drive/take a taxi is the physician. Good news as it looks like I am moving forward with having people close by.

Well half vacuumed on the main floor and putting all my thoughts (well a few extra grew from my thinking!) on paper is necessary these days as my mind is very busy and I do forget momentarily, generally just at the time I need to remember, but it does come back to me eventually.

Back to cleaning.

Missed the BIFHSGO Conference!

I kept meaning to write the Conference on the Calendar because I have been so very busy writing this last year but did manage to miss it after all; it was last weekend. However I did make great progress on the book which I hope to publish towards the end of the year. Went in and renewed my membership at BIFHSGO early this morning as I had also forgotten to do that. I have been a member since this Society was created and long before I had any interest in one-name studies; my mother was still alive and very much interested in pursuing her Pincombe family. But somehow the idea of a British Society appealed to me way back then although Edward was really keen on being there as he had begun to find his Dissenters by that time and they did turn out to be a fascinating lot. Pretty much every British  ancestor that he had that came to the colonies in the 1620s-1630s was a Dissenter! The membership renewal is usually on the Conference registration but did not see it;  not surprising my attention is riveted to the Siderfin book at the moment. I will be happy to complete the Siderfin book and move on to the Pincombe book for sure. I never contemplated revising James Sanders book nor having it morph into a freestanding book on its own although also revising James Sander's book. But there it is; life is always a surprise for sure. It is nice to support the Conference though even if I didn't actually attend!

Today cleaning the other two floors and I consider that a must so that I do not have to do a whole lot of cleaning all at once at my age of 78 years. It is working well and the cleaning progresses in the same fashion week after week. The days are very organized but that is my nature to have organization if one can. It does keep the mind fit I think. Then there is all the exercise and that hopefully keeps me walking a good straight line.

Yesterday I worked through the Bunt family (Joanna Rew married Petherick Bunt and their five children were difficult to locate and very little information but recorded none the less). Moving on to her siblings today and for this work I have done most of the lines because that is my line - Elizabeth Siderfin married John Rew and are my 3x great grandparents with Elizabeth Rew marrying John Pincombe. So today continuing with Elizabeth Siderfin's oldest and only surviving brother Thomas. Elizabeth must have been the second born of a set of twins as her father mentioned her last in his will.  It is a fascinating family actually with most of them remaining in England still and I have corresponded with every line in that family. They did keep in touch - Elizabeth here and her siblings in England until my great grandfather William Robert Pincombe passed away in 1918 (70 years after Elizabeth came to Canada with her husband and family). But amazingly even with the paperwork that still existed I never did find the surname Siderfin in any of that.

Prayers for Israel and all the Jewish people under threat around the world, Prayers for Ukraine, Prayers for the Palestinian people and that they may soon have their own state.

Ian White's Psalms playing early this  morning. What a lovely day; snow on the ground once again. Winter is finally starting to show itself.

The Clarke family is enormous in the Siderfin Family

Mostly I worked on the Clarke family yesterday and it is an interesting one. John Siderfin son of Robert Siderfin and Grace Kent married Sarah Clarke 4 Jun 1787 at Selworthy and they had three children, Elizabeth their daughter married married William Clarke (both Clarkes were of East Lynch but do not know if they were related, and I am not going to work that out, one name study on the Siderfin family!). William and Elizabeth had fourteen children, they went into farming and a number of professions/trades all over England (at least a few places not quite all over). Locating them on the census was my task of  yesterday. A number of them did not actually have children or only had a couple which was lucky as it is a difficult surname in terms of so many to work through. But I have completed that task in the 11th generation now although I will still have to work on the children of this generation in the twelfth generation but that is for next month! I just have 20 pages left to work on and I have been able to do five pages a day so hopefully done towards the end of the week. It is not predictable how much I can do on cleaning days although the first day is the basement so may be able to pack away a few pages today.

The Church Service I watched after I read and sang the Service from my Church today was in Swindon, Wiltshire and it was Celebration of the Bible Service day; a celebration of the gift of the Bible down through the ages as I do comment on occasion that we have Judaism to thank for the Bible being maintained through many thousands of years. Their academic work on the Old Testament is quite fascinating and so in depth. My only regret in not going to Church in-service is the Sermon (and the organ) as I really do appreciate having a Biblical Scholar in the pulpit although the other sermons are also very interesting. But this service online today at Swindon included everything in British Sign Language (BSL) and a little discussion on a Bible being created using BSL. At first I was thinking well one could read it in English but I do see their point that deaf people do learn a great deal in a different way from people who can hear; they do not have the luxury of all the extra learning that occurs simply because you are in the right place at the right time because there probably isn't BSL there. So I did find that most interesting to learn this morning. It is amazing what you can find on You-Tube.

Snow beautiful snow has fallen overnight. Just a lovely white covering which will melt but the beginning of wondrous winter. Thank you God for the beauty of the earth which we are meant to honour and respect.

Prayers for Israel and all Jewish people under threat, Prayers for the Palestinians. Prayers for Ukraine. Prayers for the trapped miners in Kazakhstan. The wonders of modern news that we would know about such disasters in far off Canada.

Up early and a lot of work to do; this is cleaning day.

Progress is slow but on its way

Continuing with the eleventh generation of the Siderfin family and  working on John Siderfin/Sarah Clarke's children. This couple was not truely assigned in the chart that James Sanders produced and I have placed this John into the family of Robert son of Augustine. Primarily because of the will of Grace Trill, this placement appears to be more likely than John's family son of Augustine.

Robert was John's and Sarah's eldest and Robert married Sarah Parsons and they had five daughters and one son. I have now completed this family. I do find it interesting that this side of the family, some of them, moved to the South Molton area of Devon. Robert's and Sarah's eldest daughter was the mother of James Sanders marrying James Hooper Sanders in 1842 but at St Decumans. Earlier in 1832 Elizabeth Rew (daughter of Elizabeth (Siderfin) Rew and John Rew married John Pincombe but at Bishops Nympton. This shift to Devon for some of the family is rather interesting and I will pursue that when I write the Pincombe book.

Yesterday was principally a working day although I did take good breaks. At 78 one needs to do that I think. I am pretty much playing all of this growing old on the basis of my two grandparents in that my parents lived what was really a long way away from me as they aged (lived to be 94 my father and 85 my mother). My grandparents lived to be 79 and 80 but were both quite strong to the end of their lives. At that time 1950s/1960s life expectancy was considerably less (late 60s) than it is now although COVID has taken the low to middle 80s down a couple of years. My own health is not that strong and I must work at it. The exercise is part of that I rather think.

Today is Sunday and Ian White's Psalms fill the room with the beautiful music. Another week of in-service only so no service on You-Tube. Last week I found a service on You-Tube which I listened to and the music was quite lovely. It was a Church just outside of Coventry, England. It was an accidental find but did remind me of my Grandmother's visit to England in 1939 back to Birmingham where she grew up and she visited with cousins in Coventry.

Prayers for Israel, prayers for the Palestinian people, prayers for Ukraine. I still have hopes that the United Nations will be able to set up an Humanitarian area outside of Gaza for all of these people; it should be already done. The land looks quite empty around there and all the wealthy nations nearby could surely help with that. But I am a dreamer perhaps but do try to follow the commandments given to us first by God and later by Jesus. Love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbour as ourself.

Snow is promised for today; we will see.

Starting Robert's descendants for the 11th Generation

Still moving forward slowly but I am content with the results. Working on Robert Siderfin's descendants (Robert son of Augustine) now and there is a lot of material (except for the daughters children if any) in this section plus it has the work from another researcher on Thomas' line. There are 28 pages of text but a lot of it is census which I am putting into the footnotes. The odds of getting through it by next weekend (would be seven days and four pages a day) so likely which is good news. Then the last generation and a lot of the 13th generation children have been added in but again footnoting to do so perhaps half the work. We will see how quickly it goes. I am hoping to get to the proofreading and indexing sooner rather than a lot later.

A very warm fall day today, up to about 18 degrees celsius. Those days will be few and far between now though as November approaches. Just the leaves really and I will start on them once they are all down.  Although may fill two or three bags a day.

Thinking about the Pincombe book now every now and then. I will update the footnotes directly in the notes of my legacy file in the style that I would want them to be in. I am still debating how to handle 50,000 hits on Find My Past. I really should look at them and they have grown so large since Find My Past was created. I did do some work like that years ago looking at all the hits but the numbers increased very rapidly. Now though if I am going to write a book I need to see what is there.

With the amount of money that is donated to the Palestinians by nations around the world, too bad it wasn't used to rent a huge fleet of cruise ships and put the Palestinians on them and take them out into the Mediterranean away from all of this horror. I am sure Hamas would have tried to stop that (or sneak onto the boats) but as an idea it only just came to me. There have been millions and millions of dollars going to support the Palestinian people and when you look at the city there isn't much industry created there to show for it. Lots of tunnels though. Each of the cabins on cruise ships would hold an entire family. Too bad the notion didn't come to me earlier. I can still hardly believe that a humanitarian area wasn't set up outside of Gaza for them where they could be properly taken care of especially the children. Definitely they will go back to Gaza although I can not think why people would live in their circumstances for generations when there is an entire world around them. But I do realize that poverty and circumstance can dictate a pretty limited future.

The day begins with Ian White's Psalms as usual. There is a lot of knowledge in the Psalms. It is wondrous that they have been passed down to us through all these generations.

Good progress yesterday but still working on John's descendants

I did make good progress yesterday but still working on John's descendants although I am getting towards the end.  There are three children left in the John Siderfin/Joan Adams family to complete and then Thomas died at seventeen years of age. Then on to Robert\s descendants and the youngest son Thomas has been sent to me by a descendant of that line so speeds it up a little. Robert had five daughters which include my own line (Elizabeth (Betty) (Siderfin) Rew). Three of the daughters I do not have any information Mary, Grace and Joanna except for their marriages. I shall spend a little time working on them but for Ann the youngest daughter I have lots of information. Then just the three sons - John with just three children, Robert did not marry  and Thomas with eight children (5 sons, three daughters) but as mentioned my correpsondent has sent me her material which is very helpful.

Yesterday I cleared away the sunflowers as I rather think the squirrels and birds have had their fill now and there is not much left anyway. I think I will follow my daughter's suggestion and leave the plants to rot through the winter and then clear away in the spring. Just take my time with that because the garden thaws out in a rather slow way from the top of the yard down lending the ability to just do a little day by day. She feels that that will help to enrich the soil; sounds good to me and does help to feed into my true lack of interest in gardening.

It is good to see that more trucks are getting through into Gaza. I hope that continues and increases. Since Hamas is still bombing Israel they obviously have lots of fuel which could be given to the hospitals (Hamas is evil). The International Community worry about their citizens with over 145 of them still held hostage by Hamas with no end in sight. In total 229 hostages with no sign of a release date.  It is the absolute height of cruelty to so many nations around the world. The loss of life in Gaza is appalling as well but then too was the sadistic satanic butchery of the Jewish  people from all over the world on the 7th of October this year.

Another Friday already; this week has flown by. I may be surprised at how quickly the Robert line gets completed. That would bring me to the last Generation that I am recording - the Twelfth. I will be somewhat flexible in recording the 13th generation children but in general I will not record any birth after 1920. The next step is the proofreading and indexing. I will only index names I think. But will think about that for a bit. I still need to clean up the appendices and footnote them where necessary. The book is moving along I am happy to say. I am keen to move to the Pincombe book but do want to do a good finish to the Siderfin Book since I took it on as a revision of James Sanders book although it has rather morphed to a free standing book of its own with revisions here and there and a lot of his information is now in the appendices.

Another day in God's world and the Ian White's Psalms is playing as most days. The music is lovely. Rain again today; God weeps for the lost children of the world for sure. They are wrapped tightly in His arms for evermore. We must do better in this world to take care of His creations.

My eyes

Still no word from the Eye Doctor's office. Two months since the tests were done and the secretary did tell me I would hear back before November; I mentioned I would call in November to check on my surgery status. I need to book appointments so do need to call and see what is happening. I am beginning to understand the frustration of people trying to get their surgeries done and their other health needs like flu shots, COVID shots, eye appointments with optometrist, etc. etc. Having worked in a hospital for twelve years at the end of my career I do know it is busy there and do make allowances for that by  not cluttering them up with my presence - I have been lucky with my health although do need to be cautious as it is easy for me to slip back; my health is not strong just very careful attention to it on my part. So early in November I will call the office and see what the status of my surgery is; I do understand that there is a delay in these surgeries but expect they are triaged if urgency is seen. I decided on the simple IOL simply because the optometrist is always changing my lens when I go (that wasn't the case when I was younger but one's eyes do age I realize that). I do not want a fixed lens ($2000 worth) in my eyes if I still need to pay huge amounts for glasses to fix the differences that the more expensive lens produces (I do have insurance but it only pays so much). I have no ideas on that but it just seems logical. I would rather go with a simple lens since I will still need glasses anyways and I do hate bugs in my eyes. So works out well for me. But I am sure that not buying the more expensive lens does not result in my going to the back of the line. That wouldn't make sense. Triage should control when people get lens and I apparently have been waiting now for nearly four years since the optometrist didn't refer me when he referred my husband four years ago because one of us needed to drive and Edward's health was poor at that time and I was selected to wait unknown to me! Learning that two years later though (last January) and that he would refer me the next year I decided to ask for a referral right away. I did prefer to have an ophthalmologist but when Dr Sullivan retired from his practice to do only surgery I elected to go with an optometrist. I did ask what he thought and he said since my eyes were always the same basically that would work for me. One waits a very long time even 27 years ago for an ophthalmologist appointment (I have only ever had two ophthalmologists in my life Dr Dyson and Dr Sullivan until this latest visit to the Eye Institute except for one visit to look at a floater years ago now (may be twenty)) . I had never seen an optometrist in terms of an eye exam before then and I must say they do do a thorough examination of the eyes. The refinement of lenses has come a long way since I first wore glasses at one year of age (they were taped to my face in case one wonders how they stayed on!). Although I can still read looking through those tiny lens so a good fit by Dr Dyson way back when but he knew my Dad well and my eyes were (according to him) precisely like my father's eyes. Good call. This will keep it fresh in my mind for sure.

I need to remember to call as time slips by me very rapidly with my book, the outside work, the cleaning and the cooking. The book is fun but just a little frustrating because I did not plan way back in 2010 and earlier to ever do this so some of the items need a good look up and I am in that process. Plus the databases are so much better since I first subscribed to Ancestry back in 2004 and Find My Past when it went to a yearly subscription (was 1837online.com) and that was great news. I like Ancestry and Find My past equally and would not do without them. I do also subscribe to My Heritage but I do not have any European or American ancestors only English (and two Huguenots whom I know quite well in terms of records!) in the context of written past so the concentration tends to be with Find My Past and Ancestry.

Making limited headway but continuing

The day flew by quickly as there was groceries to do and my exercises. I did keep at the Eleventh Generation though but it is slow slogging at the moment. Hopefully it speeds up  although Robert had even more daughters than John did and that is part of the slowdown. I had never planned to write a book so my notations for the female lines of Siderfin are not quite as good as they could be and I am obviously doing something about that. I may not carry it on very far but anything into the middle of the 18th century works for a lot of people as it is easy to trace back from the 1921 census if you are in England or the 1931 Census in Canada or the 1951 Census in the United States. With three of my grandparents born in England, everything that I look up is pretty much records in England. Anything before 1850 is pretty much English except I have my maternal grandfather's mother being born here in 1839 but I have all of her records so not a problem. Two of her sisters actually died in childbirth as I discovered; I believe my mother knew that actually although I do not remember knowing it before I started down this track in 2003. But having had rather long long deliveries I wonder sometimes if that is what happened to those two women; exhaustion and blood loss - no ideas as their death records death as a result of delivery.

But I digress and it is the 21st century now and far fewer maternal deaths these days.

I am working on one family that was in Minehead, Somerset but the daughter married a farmer who was in Shropshire. After her father died her mother came to live with them and is on the census for three cycles. The father was older than the mother by a number of years (14 actually) and it probably improved the life of that family as they had nine children and all survived. Nothing like an extra pair of hands for sure when babies are small.

Trying to stay out of the world's problems but ultimately so long as I breathe they are also my problems. I must disagree with President Erdogan of Turkey. He has proven to be a thoughtful person the President but Hamas, to the world of Christianity/Judaism, is a terrorist organization because they have dedicated themselves to the eradication of Israel and Christianity in the long run. None of us would have a known beginning without the peoples of Israel who brought forward the word of God from the time of Creation to the present (the very words that we read; the words that were transmitted to the people of God were brought forward by the peoples of Israel to the present, in my case the converts from Judaism to Christianity which was brought to England - although my ancient people would have practised the Celtic Rites which eventually merged with the Christian Church in the British Isles). The history of Israelis on this land where they dwell is ancient. My peoples (and except for three ancestors, my mother, her father and  his mother) are ancient to the British Isles with very few exceptions thus far (I do have two Huguenot ancestors from the late 1400s from France); our DNA carries those markers of ancient times. Yet I am a Canadian and proudly so, born a British Subject in Canada prior to 1st of January 1947 so a Canadian as of the first of January 1947. The world changed at the dawn of the 20th century and especially after the Second World War and people moved about. The Palestinians themselves are colonials and nomads who finally found a place to settle (I had thought they were descendants of the Philistines initially but reading up on that most Philistines were destroyed in several conquests and their territory (modern day Gaza) fell under other rule (Roman at one time so a very long time ago). Although it is thought from what I have been reading that some Philistine lines may have survived and be present as both Jews and Palestinians (DNA testing might help but chosen ethnicity would probably have changed anything significant centuries ago). But I do think having their own state is a great idea; always have since I first heard of the Palestinians. They need to find a way to live in harmony with the people of Israel though and through my lifetime I have watched as peoples of Gaza killed children of Israel in pizza parlours with their friends and so many other incursions that resulted mostly in the murder of children; we all need to do that live in harmony with our neighbours (and that includes attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank; the attacks are wrong and still wrong if they are against the Jewish people living there - stay out of it; there is really enough trouble in the Middle East). (Palestinians from Gaza who come here complain about their living conditions in Gaza but these conditions are created by Hamas and themselves; Israel does have a right to defend themselves - stop giving them a reason to fight back.) The Creator did not give anyone the right to destroy the people of Israel simply because they exist - God told Abraham that his descendants would number more than the stars in the sky. That God came to us in different ways has created Judaism, Christianity and Islam. But we can still work together and make this world the great place that He wanted it to be. We must get rid of the Satanists in our midst (Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihadists and others that see some peoples of the world as Infidels and thus expendable). That is our duty to this world; to the word of God and to God Himself.

Another day in God's world and thank you to the Creator for sparing us to this time and place. Life is precious and I am saddened to see the deaths that result from this war that Hamas started and they continue to bomb Israel daily as does Hezbollah - it is the right of Israel and their God-given duty to defend themselves. It is Satan that drives Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihadists and the others who follow their resolve. We need to rid Satanists from our midst (and that includes the psychopathic nazi Putin and his enablers). How it is done, I have no idea but these groups (Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihadists) are far more dangerous in the Arabic world than in mine. They undermine everything that is good in their countries.

On to the day, more work on the Siderfin book. I shall be glad to have it finished. But then the last part of any task is often the hardest although I do try to do the hardest things first. That is my way so that there is pleasure in the work that follows - words of wisdom from my grandfather.

On to the Siderfin book and the 11th generation

I did get a little done on the Siderfin book yesterday along with cleaning the basement and putting away the summer footwear. Today I should accomplish more as I would like to be close to the end of this generation towards the beginning of November. I do get distracted but must try to stay in focus.

Perhaps remembering I am 78 and no one actually listens to me should help to temper my distractions! There are not quite 500 people in this family tree from John Siderfin in the early 1500s up to the end of the 12th generation which includes the children of the 13th generation. Not a very large family as size goes but not as small as some family names are that can be traced back this far.

Since I have accomplished what I actually set out to do; link Robert Siderfin married to Elizabeth (Question) Siderfin back to their ancestral line (likely John (possibly Robert) brothers and sons of Robert 4 (Robert 3, William 2, John 1) I am satisfied with the results. I do accept though, and that is why I am doing a Creative Commons License to publish this book, that someone may actually revise it sooner rather than later. Definitely I have not followed through on the female Siderfin lines where they have taken on their husband's surname (as one generally did even when I was married 57 years ago) and I do not personally have that strong attachment to the surname as it belonged to my 3x great grandmother which is a rather long way back, Elizabeth (Betty) 7 Siderfin (Robert 6, John 5, Robert 4, Robert 3, William 2, John 1) was born in the 1700s. I did want to publish the connection because it did  not go into the Westminster History Book for which my Pincombe cousins and I with my siblings had written the Pincombe Profile and since I had found it I did want to ensure that the connection was not lost. So two accomplishments in total and that fulfills my planned accomplishments. Anything else is just really extra including the autosomal DNA which I am still considering. I am not sure what I will actually put into that chapter but do spend some time thinking about it on occasion.

I am a person though who is also interested in the world situation and it does enter into my blog post when it is uppermost in my mind. Writing it down does let me look at it more analytically and noting that currently Israel is being bombed from both Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north on a daily basis. It is the principle that a country that is bombed has a right to defend itself. Hamas constantly inflates the number of Palestinian deaths in order to arose the people around the world including in my country. I, of course, fail to understand why these same people in my country get so full of hate for the Jewish people whom they blame when they have done absolutely nothing to help their people achieve the Palestinian State. They have after all found a safe haven and they could be writing to the United Nations daily to encourage the Palestinian statehood of their now shared allegiance as they carry passports for both Canadian citizenship and Palestinian citizenship. Naturally I become quite antagonized when they start marching about with their non-Canadian-flags in my country and hating the Jewish people. It does not make any sense; if you bomb people they are going to bomb you back; if you murder in a psychopathic way infants, children, women and men and take others hostage they are going to fight back. Although Hamas must be eliminated, it must be a united effort I agree with President Macron that first the hostages must be freed immediately and then Hamas must go so that the Palestinians can form their own state and Hamas will  not be robbing them of monies and supplies that are sent for the Palestinians not them. Parading in our streets and threatening Pro-Israel  groups is unacceptable and we need to add amendments to our Charter of Rights and Freedoms to nip that in the bud as soon as possible. Language of hate is illegal in this country. I believe my mind has finally congealed on all of this and I shall watch as the powers in the world come up with the solution that best works for Israel and to produce movement forward for the establishment of the Palestinian State which one notes Israel has been in favour of ever since Israel left Gaza to the Palestinians back in the early 2000s. Hamas is the problem; Palestinians need to realize that and boot them out; with that the coalition could help them. And it does make one very sad to see the devastation in Gaza and the deaths. All this killing needs to stop; are humans not capable of better. Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah do what they do to get the world aroused; they  make it worse to increase the unrest around the world; do not let them destroy our world. God warned us that Satan is forever in the wings attempting a come-back. We must fight against the satanists of this world - Putin and his enablers, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad amongst others..

Prayers for Ukraine, Israel and Gaza and there are more around the world. Unrest is very sad. God's tears flow today as the rain pours down.

The day begins.

Descendancy style

So long as the individual carries the surname Siderfin I have retained the successive generations with their name marking them as to their generation from John 1. When errors occur in the Siderfin surname these people are also included as that is an error and their name is Siderfin. But for female descendants like myself I do not record their descent from the time that a marriage occurs which takes them away from the Siderfin surname. When a marriage occurs between a Siderfin female and a male with a Siderfin mother those children do not have the descent noted. If a female child of that family marries back into the Siderfin family than their children are recorded with the father's descent. That is just the way that I decided to code people. I am sure other people have different ideas. But we live in a male surname styled world although changing in this generation on occasion but I am not bringing my work up to this generation so not a problem for me.

A little work done yesterday but it was cleaning day and that means not much time for anything else. I am now in an interesting set of names, the descendants of Augustine were John and Robert. Each of them had large families but they provide a measuring tool for me to look at my progress. I am still working on John the eldest and will be about half way when John is completed. I am perhaps half way through John's children's children. I do not regret being so insistent of rechecking all the footnoting as my references date back over ten years and so much more is available now. I really did not think about that at the time when I was considering the possible finish date. I must admit I just go with the flow and make changes as necessary.

The full day of cleaning accomplished yesterday but not a great deal more. It does take most of my day. The one-room concept does dominate my thoughts on such a day. I really only need what I have in my room as I seldom touch anything outside of that room except in the kitchen and the living room but all of that can fit into the one room concept. I generally only use one element of the stove to cook. My meals are basic. The TV occupies me in the living room but there is also the stationery bicycle which I use mostly in the winter.  Other than that I do not particularly touch anything in that room. At 78 I have surprisingly good health but I do not have any of the "bad" genes that generally start catching up with people in their mid-70s. I exercise regularly far more than what is suggested. I neither drink nor smoke nor have I ever to any degree (although I did use to enjoy a little good wine occasionally until my husband's illness caught up with him).  One should always push oneself to do more than one actually needs to do for basic exercise.

Today I shall get some work done on the book plus I will do some raking outside. Perhaps I will do five bags a week for the next month and that should get rid of all of the leaves. I can space that raking time out over a couple of days; I am not a young person nor am I that person who used to go out and do ten bags full and still continue. One must smell the roses when you are 78 and take life easier.

I remember my grandfather talking about his cousins who lived in London and spent their days and nights underground during the blitz of 1940. He said it made them realize that they didn't need their houses anymore just a very small place where they could have the things that mean most to them (but they were all older and past retirement then; the young amongst them still wanted all of that but they too hid underground but then their underground was safe and not full of vipers). The bombs thundered overhead but way down in the underground they were safe. That was all that mattered to them; that and giving it back in full score but the British are like that. They have survived as a people all these centuries because they long ago learned to live with the times. To clean out the vipers in their society and move on respectfully forgiving and forgetting. The clash of Pro-Palestinian and Pro-Israeli groups should not be happening in Canada. I understand the Pro-Israeli feelings because they have been wronged; their people have been attacked once again and Hamas went after the babies, the small children, the young women and the old (the woman hostage just released (one of them) was beaten as she was taken to Gaza - an 85 year old woman) and their barbaric war on them deserves an answer but time is with the Israelis. The Israeli huge standing army is just waiting. I am sure the government of Lebanon will be glad to have Hezbollah gone. Hezbollah also bombing Israel like the vipers they are. The Pro-Palestinians are never there for their people except when they are hating Israel just for existing. Disgusting really and I do wish they would keep their flags to themselves; fly them in your backyard I do not care but keep them and your hatred for Israel off the public streets. We have lots of flags that belong to Canada; that represent Canada both the present and our deep past (and I have deep respect for the flag of Israel; they have suffered in this past century more than any people in the world). We respect the past; at least a lot of us do and the First Nations can tell us of the past; of a Canada rich in wild life and plant life and touched by the Creator in so many ways. This is Canada. And we need an amendment to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms - I was never in agreement with the creation of that Charter and I remain of that opinion. Minority attempts at dictatorship is  not my idea of democracy and that is what we often get displayed on our streets - last winter's occupation here in Ottawa is a good reminder of the problems that this Charter presents and it does need amendments. The Charter limits the rights of the majority and we must protect ourselves from satanic minorities that exist in the world. Large countries may look awkward but they protect the rights of the minority when they are a democracy but those rights must not be abused by minority groups. We have to live together on this planet and Global Warming is really the issue that needs to be front and centre. Work together people; stop hating!

Well time for jumping jacks and I do tire of the vipers of the world - Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and numerous others; they are selfish and do not regard the earth as more than a place for them to pillage. They are not human except in look; they are satanic. On to the day; it is early and not yet daylight but soon the hint of sunrise will come in the east.

One sixth of the way through the Eleventh Generation of Siderfin

Working on that completion it looks like it will take me all of next week and perhaps a couple of more days after that to complete this generation. The number of descendants increased rapidly but surprisingly there are a number of families that did not have any children. And there were smaller families with just one, two or three children. But still a lot of families with more than six children to make up for that in terms of numbers.

More information generally available in the 1800s/1900s which is handy. A number of the Siderfin females taught school (including my Elizabeth Rew). Perhaps it was a popular occupation for women in the 1800s in England. No ideas on that.

Still thinking about how to present the autosomal results. I haven't really looked at them very much yet so will try and take a bit of time to do that. I have most of them in DNA Painter which makes it easy to spot common sections of DNA that are passed down through the generations. When these are in high density areas they are likely common to most people who have ancestry in the British Isles that goes back a thousand years.

Cleaning today and I begin with the top floor. I do not have any particular aims this week just the usual cleaning to keep the dust down and make it easier to keep the house clean by doing it every week. The leaves have come down quickly and when they have dried up after the rain will rake them.

Yesterday I took a bit of a break from footnoting and organized my images for the Pincombe book to come. I have quite a few from the 1400s, 1500s and 1600s that I took from the original rolls at the National Archives at Kew when we visited there several times about a decade ago now. I have looked at them a little but they are a huge project and I wanted to check the state of the files. Most of them look doable but will think about ordering a couple of new ones that have appeared.

Another day in God's world and it is 2 degrees celsius here; the tipping point that sends us on into winter. Peace has been slipping away from us but the measured discipline of the Israeli military which wants only to eliminate Hamas and bring the hostages home is the hope of all of us who respect the rule of law. For the Palestinians their own state and they are ready to move forward into that when the chance is given to them it does appear. Eliminate the vipers Hamas, Islamic Jihadists and Hezbollah  and others from our world so that peace can come in the Middle East. They are a danger to all countries there.  They are scum hiding behind babies, children, women and men hostages. Free the Hostages. Glory to Israel. Glory to Ukraine. Support for the Palestinian people to do away with Hamas, Islamic Jihadists and Hezbollah the vipers in their midst.

Solitaire games, a cup of tea after jumping jacks and on to the day.

The Siderfin book continues to move forward

Much of the work that I did on the Siderfin family was before 2011. The databases which I used were still in their infancy and as I work my way through the data I need to look up most of them to see what has been gathered in over the last dozen years. I would have wanted to review anyway but the twelve years away has resulted in so much more material being available. The American Siderfin family of one of the lines daughtered out early in the 20th century. I am not sure if there are others as it would require me to take a different course right now and look up the American census but it is probably easier just to follow the flow as I work my way through the 11th generation of the Siderfin family. The spelling is rather erratic during the census period but does clear up as one approaches the twentieth century to a certain extent. However my stopping point is 1920 or thereabouts. If it makes sense to go into 1920s I will but for the most part lines will end with the birth of children in the late 19th and early twentieth century which includes my mother born in 1916. By then the Siderfin line was her 2x great grandmother so a fair distance back and no Siderfin cousins were known to her as far as I know. She never mentioned that surname in her twenty five years of letters. I am not that inclined to keep a lot of things but the letters from my mother were my link back to my childhood and so I have kept every one of them from the first one received in early May of 1975 which she wrote on the day that we left to come to our new home here. The last one was just after we arrived back from my Pilgrimage to Rome - Vatican City to be exact -  (my oldest daughter and myself) and the Consecration of the new ECUSA Bishop of Europe at St Paul within the wall Basilica. The worldwide Anglican online group had been invited by the soon to be Bishop of Europe a member of our group and a number of us did accept from around the world. We stayed at a Monastery near the Vatican. Of all the trips I ever have taken it is the one that had the most meaning for me deep in my soul. I enjoyed all the others but this one fulfilled my soul. I did try to persuade Edward to come but flying over the ocean was not on his bucket list in those days not from the time I first knew him. He was happy on this side of the Atlantic but that would change and one of his regrets was not going much sooner and much oftener! But as I said to him at least you finally went to see the other half of the world but there was so much still to see in his mind but now it is all there before him I am sure.

But I digress and I continue working my way forward with the Siderfin book. Once I have done all the lines coming down from Robert Siderfin and Elizabeth Question Siderfin except for Thomas I move to the excellent work sent to me by my correspondent of that family line. Thomas was the youngest in that generation and I did gather up the information that I could find and for the most part I did not too badly but the reinforcement of her research has made that an easier task.

Church by myself today, not on You-Tube this week. I actually enjoy reading the entire service myself out loud but do miss the organ and the sermons. They are a good pause for thought during a busy work week. I do remember I am retired but I think I am a workaholic who will never truly give up working until it is time for me to join the ages that have gone before me. There are so many ways I can keep on working through these years. When one door closes another opens has always been my philosophy of life. God is always there in the heavens wanting us to do better; some of us do not listen unfortunately for the rest of us. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to Israel and may the Palestinians find the kind of peace that they should have if only the vipers in their midst would stop hating Israel.

Tea drank, jumping jacks done and breakfast is next.

The Eleventh Generation

Slowly but surely the generations move forward and I am now into the Eleventh Generation. My interest is primarily in the Siderfin surname and unless it was fairly easy to follow down the lines of Siderfin daughters these will now disappear. For one thing I can not be absolutely sure that I have the right line unless the surname of the mother appears on the birth record. The spelling of Siderfin does become a bit erratic as we move into Census time and harder to find. Although I am not on a clock really I would like to reach the end of my work on the book by the end of this year. The freedom of revision is with the book so others can pick up the challenge and carry forward but I will have accomplished what I set out to do. First of all link the line of Robert Siderfin married to Elizabeth Question back to the earlier Siderfin family which James Sanders did not do. He merely hinted at it. Second expand some of the lines that James Sanders had listed to bring them up to the early 1900s where it is generally easier to then work one's way back from the present to the 1800s and hence back to the 1500s when this family appears in the records. Linking them back to the 1200s will be more of a challenge as they do not yet appear in the databases beyond one reference. I am not doing that!

My it is nice to have the front lawn raked. The back yard is a much larger chore but will spread it out over one week once all the leaves are down. That is slowly happening. The Black Walnut just suddenly loses its leaves. One day it just looks like a yellow leaf downfall and they come down more or less in a short six hour period and the tree is empty. The maple tree drops its leaves over a period of about two or three weeks. On to late fall and still the promise of a few warm days here and there but winter will soon arrive and with it skiing season. I shall get out once the snow falls and ski in the backyard just to hone my skills once again. It is interesting being 78 because one loses muscle skill sets very quickly if they are not constantly reinforced. I started noticing that around 70. Hence I walk a minimum of 12,000 steps per day but generally closer to 15,000 (down from my 18,000 in the summer) all year around.

Chicken stew tonight; I do love chicken stew and it will make three dinners. Then an egg dinner of some sort followed by macaroni and cheese. I haven't planned beyond that but still have shrimp and scallops to use up.

Jumping Jacks time and then tea and my solitaire games. The day begins. Listening to Ian White's Psalms and the repetition day after day mind relaxing. My mind has been working overtime for sure the last nearly three weeks. The world is full of turmoil at the moment - why generate turmoil when we do best as an inventive people when the world is vibrant and aware. The human brain is one of the greatest products of human growth. There is a reason that human babies must learn to support their head as babies more than any other being on earth. We were meant to be brain users; to be able to care for the earth and not destroy it. Looking back over 78 years is a fascinating feature of life actually. Thank you God for the world that you made for us and be ever with us as we journey forward in your world. The forces of good must always overpower the forces of evil for that to happen. The trucks have finally made it through to Gaza - only 20 though. The release of two hostages is not adequate; release all of them. You are holding children; keeping them from their parents/relatives that is a sin beyond belief. Let the children go.

Another excellent day on the 10th Generation of the Siderfin family

Another excellent day working on the 10th generation of the Siderfin Family and just one family line to complete this generation. I shall move on to the 11th generation tomorrow. I am fairly pleased with the result ad should have realized that I would be nit picky about the references. I tend to use my own style rather than the approved style. As I like them to be fairly comprehensive and let me take away some of the heavy text so that running through family lines is easier to visualize without so much extra material in the actual text. It does make some of the footnote area quite large though as a result.

Still thinking about the autosomal DNA results and how to express them. I have a lot in my lines because so many of my Pincombe cousins have tested and for some reason a lot of other lines coming down from Robert Siderfin and Grace (Kent) Siderfin have also tested. I have a number of matches in England, Canada and the United States. There may be Australian but I have not taken a long look at all of the matches yet. I may paint them and use those images as it will be helpful to people to see where the pieces of chromosome that are passed down through the generations actually are located.

Do I think any other chapters are necessary? Not really I do not think I will add things like where they lived or properties owned or anything like that. It doesn't interest me as it is too far in the past. Life moves on.

On my proofreading run through I will do the indexing and generate at least a name index. I will contemplate generating a place index. It is better actually that I have decided that I will publish mid-December but I am still contemplating starting to serialize the book beginning in early December.  The chapters look like:

A little longer than I planned but it may shorten as I footnote (but it might not!). The appendices may become shorter as I have simply thrown all the text in that I didn't use and some of it I think it might be interesting but may not repeat it as James Sanders had it in his book.

There are more figures, I just haven't added the citations yet. The 12th generation brings the families to my mother\s level as in Canada we respect the privacy of 100 years on births although that appears to have been reduced to 92 years  as anyone 92 years or older could be on the 1931 census now released, 75 years for marriages and that remains and twenty years for deaths.

My fingers are starting to itch to get into the Pincombe book but I did not plan on starting before January or February sometime so no rush. There are some items I need to get from the Archives of the UK which I may start in motion as they do a check to see if the number referring to the document is the actual document that I want to have.

Another beautiful day in God's World  Would that peace was part of that and perhaps it is just around the corner. Rain today so not likely raking the front lawn after all. Will see how the day goes. Definitely I need to rake the front lawn. I will wait for all the leaves to come down before I rake the back yard. There are now four trees that contribute to the leaf haul that there is in the back yard and last year I think it was about 20 bags off the back yard with just two off the front yard.

I did listen to President Biden's speech to the American nation. I expect a lot of people around the world listened to the President's speech. He is very much in control and ready to lead his nation forward in support of both Israel and Europe. But the Europeans are strong and well armed and ready to deal with Russia trying to break out. They will not attack though but they will support Ukraine until Russia has retreated back to their borders as established at the end of the Soviet Union. An entity that should never have expanded if Churchill's warning had been followed. Churchill was so right; the Russians would have continued to side with Hitler except Hitler invaded them and they had a fight for their life where we helped them; no gratitude there at all! A traitor never changes their stripes for sure.

The British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has also gone to Israel to show support from the peoples of the United Kingdom. Although I do love the United Kingdom I am a Canadian first. My heritage I can love at home because Canada deserves all of my attention and love and loyalty. My father was born in England coming here with his parents as a child of nine in 1913 but his first thoughts were for Canada  through his life because it became his home. Three of my grandparents were born and lived in England to adulthood and beyond (I only knew two of them). My grandfather truly loved England to the end of his life; it was his soul but he was 39 when he came here but he also loved Canada and when his family tried to draw him home he stayed with his ever growing number of grandchildren. He saw all but one of us - seven grandchildren and just one child of his own. My grandmother was 20 (my mother's mother) and she was a proud Canadian; she loved Canada first but she also loved England as she would talk about living there as a child. Not much about her family but about England - the flowers, the birds all remembered with love by her as well as her cousins left behind. All of them talked about their cousins, aunts and uncles but more so my grandfather and father. Heritage demonstrations that are not Canadian in their content (our First Nations people often remind us of the ancient past of this country) can be divisive in a country and should be something practiced at home or in private. Tribal attitudes cause many of the troubles of the world.

Glory to Israel. Glory to Ukraine. We can not lose these battles against Satanists; the evil of the world lies in the psychopathic Nazis Putin and his enablers and the psychopathic terrorists Hamas and anyone who supports them.

Support for the Palestinian people

Throughout all of this I have also supported the Palestinian people as well as Israel. The violence is disgusting but Hamas does anything they can to put the Palestinians in harm's way by moving in amongst them in particular the individuals who executed the satanic attack on the Israel kibbutzs. Hamas is doing it on purpose to try to sway the world against Israel. They know they have a target on their back and will for the remainder of their lives just like the people who ran the Concentration Camps in the Second World War. They sowed the strife and will reap the revenge. If you talk ownership the Israelis have been on that land for thousands of years. Why can they not live on their land in peace?

If the marches had been simply supporting the Palestinian people I can support that idea but object to the only time they do that is when Hamas attacks Israel and they cheer Hamas on; that is hate for Israel it is not support for the Palestinian people. Any other time the Arab world itself and most people simply ignore the Palestinians. The plight of the Palestinian people is dire and they need help but no one helps them other than the United Nations. The rest, they just use them. I am not though a supporter of groups carrying the flags of other countries in Canada unless there is a celebration which has been requested and agreed on. Canada has a flag; a number of flags actually. I only have three Canadian born ancestors, my mother, her father and his mother all the rest are from England but I do not consider it proper to be flying the flag of the United Kingdom except when the King or his representatives come. I am Canadian.

Hopefully when this is all over the Palestinian State will be formed and they will get help setting up their own government. I was heartened listening to a young family that lives here quite a bit in Canada saying that  no they were not leaving this time because they wanted to be there if there was a chance for a Palestinian State as they wanted to be part of that. Wonderful words and one hopes and prays that that happens.

My prayers that this time the crossing will open and food, water and medicines will pass in for the Palestinian people. Hopefully Hamas and its followers are not there demanding a place at the front of the line ahead of the Palestinians who just want to live, raise their children and have a life.

Good progress on the 10th generation

I made good progress on the 10th generation and will hopefully finish this week. The families are in general still close together in West Somerset but my own line is now in Molland, Devon and other members of this family are at Sheepwash near Bishops Nympton. But we find Thomas's descendants (my 3x great grandmother's brother) in Derbyshire now and actually moving out from there just a little. The family has grown quickly through this generation and the last. In the next generation we will see them going to Australia, Canada and the United States. Most will go to the United States.

My mind is starting to move onward towards the Pincombe book these days. The work on the Siderfin Book is principally footnoting and then the proofreading in November and publishing sometime in December probably after the middle of the month but it would be nice if I can get it to people before Christmas. I have inserted a picture of my 2x great grandmother Elizabeth (Rew) |Pincombe into the front of the book as it is the closest that I get to Elizabeth (Siderfin) Rew her mother. James Sanders did not include any pictures in his book of family members so perhaps there weren't any.

Fall is advancing quickly and winter to come. Skis all washed up and ready to go when the snow hits the ground. Now that I do not work full time anymore I can schedule my cleanings on a perfect schedule so that everything is always ready when it needs to be. Being retired is certainly an interesting stage of life when one can just hibernate for as long as one wants.  Perhaps that is what old age is really meant for to do the things that you never had time to do when you were younger and just enjoy the pace. Although I do do a lot of exercise so the pace in that way hasn't particularly changed. I still sit at my desk for about seven to eight hours per day so that hasn't particularly changed. But I no longer help at my children's schools or be involved in their activities giving me a lot of time just for me. When I was a child I did a lot of babysitting of my own younger siblings so did not have that much alone time when I was young. Marrying at twenty to Edward once we had a car he had so many things he wanted to see. He grew up in a small village and his father died when he was two and his mother did not drive so his forays into the world were rather limited. But he definitely made up for that from the early first year of our marriage, a car was one of our first purchases. We visited every plaque that you can imagine in southwestern Ontario. We visited all the repositories of information that might help him with his Kipp family. I was just along for the ride being a somewhat wishy-washy person I didn't have anything that I particularly wanted to do so helped him when he asked me. I was enjoying the freedom perhaps from the busyness of a large family. I had no responsibilities other than working and child rearing and it was great actually. I loved working. I never really liked school that much except for being exposed to learning but I did grow up in a house full of books (many of which I read including the encyclopedias). I love to learn. I am not a people person though and being able to learn on one's own has been a wonderful feature of the 21st century. The world is at one's fingertips and even the blind can learn that way. I did learn braille when I was a child after a student ophthalmologist told my grandmother that I would be blind by the time I was twenty. I just vaguely recall that being said but I did take it as a hint to do something about that. I could learn braille again if I ever have to. Enough reminiscing and on to the day.

Prayers as always for Israel and Ukraine and the Palestinian people who are not part of Hamas. May they be strong fighting the Satanic forces that are against them. Looking at an interesting map of the world showing the educational level and not surprised to see that the Middle East and Russia has a lower number of people that have a well rounded education. When you see thousands of them following one person's lies and hating without ever reading the actual truth you know that their educational level about human rights is low. They only believe the loudest Satanist. China is interesting; with just a piece of white paper the people of China let their government know they were done with COVID restrictions. With their daily lives they let the government know that the one child policy suits them quite well. They may live in a dictatorship but the power of doing nothing can be extremely telling. Democracies do have their problems for sure - too much freedom can be a problem. That is why we have laws against hatred and hate speech. They come first before the right to free speech. But the Chinese people did something that a lot of countries have never done and that is grabbed the future and moved an entire population out of harm's way; their epic journey to the west to set up new factories to produce the goods that they needed and bring their population to safety during the second world war will be forever in the annals of history and is a lesson to all of us. That we do have to grab life with both hands and run with it. As I approach the end of my life and surely I have already lived far more years than I will live in the future, I can appreciate the value of history ever more although I loved learning history and geography as a child. History is always in danger of repeating itself but hopefully these brains that we have will prevent repetitions of dreadful times in our history on this planet.

I think true ignorance is thinking that any one country dominates this planet; some countries are just more willing to be helpful and overall some countries are less engaged in their own dominance but rather that the world will succeed. That doesn't mean all the people in a country will think on those lines but the overall trend is there. The United States has proven to be such a country. Some countries  constantly pretend to be interested in what is best for the world, these countries are only in it for themselves and would enslave the rest of the world if they had the opportunity. The United States is also able to admit to errors in judgement and move on to do better. President Biden has certainly proven himself to be the FDR of the 21st century and he is 80 years of age. Fantastic really. No hiding behind high walls for this man he flew to a war zone to give verbal and presence assistance to the Jewish people. On to the day. Prayers to God that this day will be a forward reaching one instead of being dragged into the past by the Satanic forces that swirl around us in this world.

Israel deserves our support, the Satanic forces gather

I believe Israel and the proof they have provided. They did not bomb the hospital. It is the aim and spoken desire of the Satanic forces of Hamas, Hezbollah, the remnants of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Palestine Islamic Jihadist which descends from the Muslim Brotherhood to destroy Israel along with the help and support of  Iran which provides the money on top of what we in the world send to the UN to support the Palestinian people. Hamas skims off the top from that money and very little trickles down to the Palestinian people.  It is a miracle that Israel has survived considering the evil forces that swirl around them. It is not even a century since the last Satan entity rose and tried to destroy the Jewish people. We must help them, support them as they battle against the desire of these Satanic entities and others that remain hidden to us at the moment. Watching President Biden descend from the plane of the President of the United States was telling. He stood tall and strong like the American people. Like Franklin Delano Roosevelt he has the task of persuading the American people to continue to fight the evil in the post-COVID world created by the psychopathic Nazi Putin and his enablers as they attack Ukraine and now the Satanic forces of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Palestine Islamic Jihadist are after Israel. God made us strong so that we can survive all of this and we will.

The people of Gaza are suffering and the next converts to these violent organizations could come from Gaza unless we are there to help to push for humanitarian corridors to get the food, water and medicines in. Hamas is desperate; they need the protection of the Gazan peoples to stay off Israel and they will do anything to discredit Israel.

My mind is somewhat consumed with this at the moment but slowly I am returning to my book once again. I am just one little person in my corner of the world and I need to work on my book.

President Biden has given his entire adult life to the service of the American people. We need to watch as this eighty year old out walks and out talks those around him. His mind might wander a little but his commitment to the American people never wavers. He does not think of his own profit but the profit of the American people is his first concern. When one hits these older years, one does not generally think of benefiting oneself. You can not take it with you dedicating your life to good causes is a much better way to end your days. President Biden knows the American people from the poorest child to the wealthiest American. He has lived all the sides of the coin perhaps not terribly poor but his father worked hard for his living and taught his son to be a God-fearing God-loving Christian and a good Catholic.

On to the day. I am up early but have a lot to do today. Cleaning all accomplished the research week begins again.

mtDNA H11 study

I have not published the newsletter for the mtDNA H11 study since Russia invaded Ukraine in that a number of my members are in Ukraine and quite a few in Russia. I felt that it was not correct to do that. As time has passed I have been contemplating releasing the 1st issue of the year as it has the most interesting details regarding the naming of the subclades. There is no personal information in that newsletter. I mention countries of origin as given to me by the participants only. Although I do include some of the mutations as I create the different subclades. I will think about this for a couple of weeks and may decide to publish last February's newsletter (already produced) on the 1st of November and that would mean that the newsletter would then be produced again on the 1st of February with the yearly summing up of subclades and new additions.

I am a conservative person in my outlook and I do come from a democratic country so liberal views are expressed in my country which is their right. But I am perhaps not providing a full enough experience as I have been doing with this particular research project. All of my other projects (three of them) are still being published every three months and I have not even noticed if some of the members of those three groups are living in different countries around the world.

It was the shock of one country invading another sovereign country in Europe and I still feel strongly about the rights of sovereign countries. Nothing has changed in that regard.

But the recent events in Israel have made me aware that a very large population of people on their border - the Palestinian people have been lead by a terrorist group whether they liked it or not and I have continued to support both Israel and the Palestine people although rejecting the philosophy and character of Hamas which is a terrorist organization. Perhaps I should have considered that at the time when I stopped publishing the H11 Newsletter. And so I have decided to consider it and will likely publish the February Issue on the 1st of November of the H11 Newsletter. I will also continue to support verbally the people of Ukraine who have been invaded and continue having to defend themselves and push out the invading Russian army.

As I continue to support Israel. I do not trust Hamas; they do not want the people of Gaza to move away from Gaza City and I believe would do just about anything to keep them from doing that. Appearances more than prove that. The Palestinians offer Hamas a protection that would be stripped away if they are gone. Hamas has no other interest in the Palestinian people. They have done nothing for them since they took over the government in 2005 (or thereabouts) except keep them in a rather needy state. None of my business though particularly I am too busy writing my books. I am now hearing 85,000 pregnancies ongoing in a population of couple of a million where half of them are children. Their birthrate is very high. The heavy use of incubators is interesting. I wonder if they have a high level of blood disorders. I haven't thought about that for a long time. Anyway not something that affects all of this particularly. I am sure there will still be a lot of children born in Gaza for quite a while yet. In the pictures they are very attached to their children.

Watching the video and Israel does have a lot of high tech all around the perimeter. Identifying the blast as the responsibility of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad who are dedicated to the establishment of their own Palestine. They likely did it to break up the meeting between President Biden and the other Arab State leaders planned after his arrival tomorrow. They will not scare Biden away; he is made of much sterner stuff than that. Plus they wanted to blame Israel as they are also dedicated to the military destruction of Israel. Israel has a lot of enemies and Hamas is likely preferring to blame Israel rather than the actual group who did it. This organization would eliminate or absorb Hamas and they are also involved in Egypt which has now outlawed them. Israel has done well to survive so long actually. This group assassinated Anwar Sadat president of Egypt about fourty years ago. They are an older group known originally as the Muslim Brotherhood. This does add to the problem and it is one that the Arab world will want to settle quickly. Blaming Israel is perhaps just a way to get them to lighten up on the bombing I am sure Hamas knows who bombed the hospital. The PIJ is a very serious threat to the Palestinian State which the people in Gaza would like to have. They have attacked Israel many times and they are very familiar with their modus operandi.

Day one of cleaning accomplished

I do hope that the people of Gaza continue to flee from Gaza city as Hamas will only use them as human shields (Hamas is trying to stop them as they want to be able to use them as human shields). The Israeli suggestion that they move out of harm's way was just that. They care about the Palestinians - Hamas just uses them as human shields. The Palestinians are going to go back home as soon as they are able. I am sure they do not want to move away from their country especially now that they may well have the Palestinian state once Hamas is gone they were the problem. Really the Arab States should have been helping the Palestinians achieve that all these years since 2005. It is only because Hamas would not follow through on that; Hamas was just always terrorizing the Israeli people. Otherwise the Palestinians would have their own country now. The sooner the Arab states help Israel to get rid of Hamas and keep Hezbollah from shooting them in the back the sooner the Palestinian people can go back home. I do hope that the US-Israeli organized access happens today so that the food trucks can come into the people of Gaza (Hamas controls the access and is preventing passage). At least now they should receive everything that belongs to them. Hamas has been stealing from the Palestinian people all these years the humanitarian aid that has been sent to them. I see Iran is sounding off - too bad that these last nearly 20 years they helped Hamas to ruin the Palestinian's lives. Freedom for Palestine.

Thank you to Turkey for working on facilitating the release of the hostages held by Hamas. The world waits for these barbaric people to release their children back to them (Hamas does fit the definition that we ascribe to barbaric in the English language). They come from all over the world the hostages. Hamas is satanic for taking children hostage (and they are so young). Why aren't more Arab countries working on freeing the hostages. They should already be free. Hamas is a danger to all Arab countries because they represent evil especially in Arab countries. Less so in mine because most of us dislike Hamas for what they have done to the Palestinian people - the ones who support Hamas the door is always open for them to leave and be part of that. Do not take advantage of the freedom in my country, hate language in any form is a crime.

Prayers for the Israeli people and prayers for the Palestinian people.

Free the Hostages Hamas. Hiding behind children, women and men that you hold as hostages to try and kill Israelis is disgusting.

Prayers for the people of Ukraine as they fight the psychopathic Nazis Putin and his enablers.

Well I did end up getting a lot of work done but still on the 10th generation. I believe I have another week to do on the 10th generation of the Siderfin family.

Waiting for the robot

The robot cleans my basement rugs; does a good job and since I have one might as well use it. I do not use it anywhere else as it is actually too slow. That is one of the problems that computers present to the world. They produce huge amounts of data; people are writing more and more and the volume of paper has increased perhaps as much as 100,000 times since I was young. Resulting in an actually slower movement of events.

Just sorting through my fiche (I have probably 2000 to 3000 fiche that I have purchased over the past twenty years. A lot of that material is on databases now but not all of it. The priests were most accommodating in what they added to various items as they recorded the life of the villages, town and cities of England (and I have collections of this material from four of the seven different areas where my families lived).  For some of the areas the time is just too far in the past for the Parish Registers. For other areas I just didn't see the need to have fiche there especially as so much is on the databases and my lines are distant so not quite as interested in what the priest may or may not have written.

But over time I have not retained necessarily every fiche that I own in my up to date mind as I call it. As soon as I see it I can remember when and why I purchased it but in my current mind it doesn't come up unless I have a refresher like this present trek through the sets. I was looking for one fiche that has taken legs. I will find it eventually and it isn't actually all that important as it is on line at Ancestry but the opportunity to look at all that fiche couldn't be missed and I did have some rewards from that industry.

I am still in the midst of the Siderfin Book although have not given it a great deal of thought this past week. My thoughts have been with the Israelis and with the Palestinian people. Hamas is responsible for all of those Israeli and Palestinian deaths as they would not have happened. They just had to not attack Israel. There was a trap there I rather think. Iran set a trap; they have funded Hezbollah and Hamas to build up a huge arsenal and Israel was sitting on that powder keg of their two arch enemies (one above and one below). Had Israel known that Hamas would attack and they attacked first many would have blamed Israel and Hezbollah would have attacked them as soon as they went after Hamas. They would have been annihilated. Instead a break in Israel's surveillance resulted in that horrific massacre we were forced to watch and see on our televisions. Hezbollah still sits on that trigger waiting for the opportunity to bomb Israel. What will the world do? Are we finally at that abyss - Is this what the Arab world wants? They have the power to stop Hamas and Hezbollah. After all they share this huge peninsula of land. Rise up in the United Nations and condemn these criminals; take them out. Put them in places where they can do no more evil. I am sure the Palestinians will be happy to see Hamas gone and the Lebanese people will be glad to part with Hezbollah. Now is the time.  Iran bombed a plane loaded with Canadians; they have never paid for that crime. Does the world continue to let Iran get away with their interfering in the existence of the world? How long does anyone think Iran would wait to then start working on the other people in the Middle East that they do not like.

Let God's world flourish and be enjoyed by people without hatred. The Russians are no different; they have already let the world know what they want.

The Defense Budget

The United States is bringing their people who need to leave in the Middle East on a ship; where are our ships? We have three oceans around us and we need more ships. One billion dollars can not be stripped from the Defense Budget. Although I have supported the Liberal government these past eight years and I will say they did a great job during COVID and the run up time to COVID as we recovered from the mistakes of the previous government - most principal of which was the reduction of the GST to 5% from 7% along with quite a few other mistakes. They should have taken GST up to 10%. There is enough exemption in that tax to make it feasible for the people with lower incomes to manage. Plus it does tax the rich which everyone appears to enjoy. Personally I think everyone should pay their share of taxes and not spend so much time trying to not pay taxes; just pay the taxes it would likely save you money in the long run.

The events in Israel this past week plus have shown us that we are not safe from the Satanic countries of this world (five Canadians are now known dead and others still missing). Even here in Canada there were actually people cheering for Hamas which is unacceptable in this country. That is not free speech; it is hate. I think perhaps those images of the signs rank up there with the pictures of the Concentration Camps in my childhood on the News Reels. Support for Satanic entities is beneath the dignity of any Canadian. It is beneath the dignity of the world. These people have to be gone from our society - they can not play a role in it. In order to help the United Nations to enforce that aim we must do as we did  after the attack on the Twin Towers in New York City. It must be a united effort to take down Hamas. Israel has keep them corralled but now is the moment for the United Nations to act once again to protect the civilians of the world from the Satanic forces that constantly swirl around us. They destroy with no regard for age, sex or limitation. They have no modus operandi other than destruction and death. They are barbarians and have lost their right to freedom. All through my childhood I celebrated as Nazis were found around the world and incarcerated or executed. It gave some relief to those horrible images on the news reels of my childhood. The dream that Satan can be eliminated from our world.

Free the hostages Hamas; Hamas you are the scum of the earth. Continue to flee Gazans away from Hamas that wants to use you only as human shields as they cringe in the darkness of their tunnels like rats awaiting their fate (more than a million Gazans are now away from Gaza City). Hamas are cowards as they cower underground. There is a reason that darkness is associated with Satan it is because it is without human qualities; Hamas are simply leeches denying life to Israel; trying to suck out the life blood of Israel.

Moving forward into a new week in the world. God's world and it is for everyone that follows His commandments. It is even for those who do not believe but still follow the natural commandment to love one's fellow man but it is not for those whose very existence is dedicated to murder and mayhem.

In some ways the world has changed very little from the world I first remember when the forces of evil, although defeated, could still be seen in our world; one face of evil replaces another in much too quick a succession. No wonder the children of the world feel lost. How can mankind make the great advances in our world when we are constantly suffocated by the evil that is fed into the world by the Terrorist nations.

China says it is enough but what is enough? Enough comes when Hamas lays down their arms and releases the hostages and stops defiling our world. Enough is when the children of Israel can go to sleep once again without fear and there are children of Israel all over the world. Enough is when our streets are not full of people supporting Hamas an evil entity in our world. Enough is when Russia gets out of Ukraine. Enough is when the world is at peace and people stop hating.

Until the Michaels were seized in China I felt that as a country they had chosen a path which suited them although I do not know anything about the internal workings of their country nor do I need to particularly. I do not trust them now but I felt they had interesting things to say in the world  and I still do. I still listen when they speak and I hope that they will support Israel as Israel recovers.

I remember from my childhood the stories of the great endurance that China showed in their path to victory in the Second World War. The visual of millions of Chinese people moving west to secure a place to work their industries; to protect their people remains with me. People walking walking, carrying their children as they trekked west to protect themselves and to produce the arsenal that would help them to cast the Nazis from their land remains with me all these years. They know what it is to be invaded; the Rape of Nanjing (Nanking) must still be burnt in their soul. The process of freeing their land was a much larger battle but surely they can see and understand the Israeli desire to remove forever the threat of Hamas to their country. The world needs to help them; the world should do it as we have all been wronged by Hamas murdering our citizens. The United Nations was created for just such a purpose.

Sunday and in the Christian World God's Day

I always found the pattern interesting Friday is the Holy Day for the Muslims, Saturday is the Holy Day for Judaism and Sunday for Christianity (and all of these Holy days start at sundown on the day before). Three days of Adoration for God and He is the same God for all three. I do actually believe that God sent a Prophet to the peoples of the Middle East. I think Christians should realize that God is omnipotent and we can not say what He decides when it is something as wondrous as Prophets for His peoples all over the world. I do probably doubt that there has been a Prophet since then mostly because there isn't a history like there is for the creation of Judaism from the beginning of time, Christianity or Islam. That we have three Holy Days in every week in our world is wondrous actually. When I was confirmed I learned about the other religions since I am Christian but it was a long time ago so I am constantly learning. When I was working in the Hospital I was the Administrative Assistant for the Hematopathology Residency Program at University of Ottawa working in the Ottawa Hospital Hematopathology Division and had the opportunity to meet a number of people of the Muslim faith. It was a wonderful experience and I learned a great deal about their faith just from knowing them. I hope my Christianity was also something that they recognized in me.They are all doctors in their own countries I suspect as they were Foreign students in the program sent by their countries to do their Residency which was four years at that time.

Ian White's Psalms are playing the background as usual and today Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m. on YouTube. I did ponder the sermon through the week with the discussion on prayer types - Help, Adoration and Wow.

I have prayed a lot this week for the people of Afghanistan recovering from earthquakes (another one today), for the people of Ukraine fighting to free their country from the psychopathic Nazis Putin and his enablers and especially for freedom for the hostages taken from Israel during the attack by Hamas and for the recovery of the people of Israel injured that day and for the souls of the people from all over the world who were killed that day over 1300 people in just a couple of hours - babies (and so horribly), young children (equally devastating), women (raped and murdered|), men beheaded. Israel had to close its borders and seal itself off and that meant no electricity, no fuel, no transfers of any kind to Gaza or anywhere and it is totally the fault of Hamas who attacked Israel - the war crimes are all committed by Hamas; the atrocities are all committed by Hamas.

Free the Hostages Hamas and they better be in good shape. Truly a 9/11 moment as they come from all over the world.

Flee Gazans; flee as the Israelis told you to safety in the south - surely the rich countries around Israel and Gaza will provide food, water, tents, bedding, clothing for all of you and schools until your homes can be rebuilt and you can return home. Hamas has wronged you people of Gaza; free yourselves from them. Hamas has wronged all the people of the Middle East as the cost of this Satanic rampage will fall on their shoulders. Destruction of Hamas is the only answer; whether they spend the rest of their days in a penal colony or whatever; they need to be gone from the face of the earth; hidden away where we do not have to see them or deal with them. They must all have trackers in their body where they cannot remove them without harming themselves so that they can be brought back to the penal colony if that is the result. There was a bomb under the flatbed truck which blew up on the highway; Hamas' work as they are trying to stop you from leaving. They need you to be human shields; they have no regard for your safety. Take your people out of the hospitals (they are run by Hamas) if you feel they can stand it and bring them to safety.

The State of Palestine should have been created years ago and perhaps now it will happen finally. It is Hamas that is the problem. They are Evil and have brought down all this destruction upon Gaza. The commandments say love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourself. Hamas has broken the commandments; they are the aggressor; they are totally at fault and responsible for all of the deaths (including Palestinian). Hamas continues to bomb Israel. Israel has a right to defend itself and close itself off from the rest of the world except for trying to retrieve their people whilst they recover in mind, body and soul. They continue to find bodies of their citizens (and perhaps those of other countries who were visiting the Music Festival that evening) in the dust and dirt of Gaza.

Now I shall concentrate on Sunday, God's Day. And I did end up doing it alone as Church was not on YouTube after all. I did not read my Bulletin last Sunday when the change was made. Although I love the service on YouTube today I am thinking a lot about the people of Israel and the people of Gaza. Both have suffered because of Hamas. Israel has turned on the water in South Gaza as the US requested them to do. They are, although visited by many peoples of the world, still in isolation. Their movements outward are to find their citizens in the streets of Gaza where they were dragged after they were murdered. Although that has not been confirmed; I do not know if they could have been alive at the start of the dragging. Hamas is a Satanic group. Iran supports them so we know where Iran sits on that spectrum but Canadians already knew that as they shot down an airplane killing all on board headed to Canada from their own airport.

I see the people of Khan Yunis, Gaza are preparing food for the people coming from northern Gaza. How wonderful of them to help their people.

Today was an interesting day

It would appear that at some point the crossing at Rafah was not able to open after all. Hamas had bombed the Israeli side of the crossing making it unusable. They need to prepare sheets electronically to give to the people to go with their passport so they can be passed through to the Egyptian side but there isn't any power.  Plus the road is full of ruts in the crossing from the bombing by Hamas which has meant that the supplies that Egypt has on their side for Gaza could not be driven through the crossing. Perhaps they could just carry it through. Well I guess Hamas is just a problem for everybody. In the meantime, the people of Gaza who have come to the south do need food and water and there it is  just on the other side of the fence. I do hope they get things fixed quickly plus I also hope that the wealthy countries around Gaza/Israel will soon have sent food and water, tents and bedding to Egypt to be sent through the Rafah Crossing to help to house the people of Gaza. I didn't realize that Hamas was also in the southern part of Gaza. Strange that they would bomb the crossing; very careless of them really with all those people coming as instructed by Israel as they needed to intensify the bombing. Hamas warned Ashkelon, Israel that they would be bombing and people should leave so seemed like the right thing to do. I do understand why the UN would worry; but surely saving all those Palestinians lives is the right thing to do. The wealthy countries around Gaza can surely manage to supply these people until they get their new homes built. Probably there are a lot of trained people in Gaza who could work on them and make some money during the building. Then they can go back to working for the Israelis like they were.

Perhaps the other countries are worried that people will try to go through the fence and come to their countries. No ideas on that but I rather think if there is food, water, medical supplies, tents and bedding available the Palestinians will just wait until they can go back home again. It might be a while though before the wealthy countries around them get new buildings built. They should also set up schools for the children as well and they will need books and supplies.

Hamas has certainly created a great many problems for the other countries in the Middle East. But many of those countries are wealthy so I am sure they can handle all the requirements for housing the people of Gaza until they have homes to return to.

I did like the idea that the nuclear research facilities in Iran could be attacked. They do not actually need them there are already enough nuclear weapons in the world to blow it up several times over. I understand lists of the members of Hamas are being created along with pictures so that they can be easily spotted if they happen to escape; they will have a good price on their head for sure I rather think. They could try to hide but invariably someone will turn them in for money. Quite often it is someone that they trust actually so changing the look of yourself might not help very much.

It is a waiting time for sure. Lots more time for the people of Gaza to continue to move south. By the look of the map there should be enough room (it is twice as wide there) for all of them especially when the donated tents and sleeping mats arrive. They will need clothes likely as well as a lot of them walked and couldn't carry all their clothes and their children. They preferred to bring their children; sounds logical to me. The best way to keep people settled in one place is to provide food and water, tents and bedding, schools and the necessary books supplies etc and of course clothing. Winter is coming. I have no idea how cold it gets there but that is a bit lucky I do think it is not as cold as it gets here so not that double expense of two sets of clothing - summer and winter.

I did manage to get some writing done through the day. But it was move things to the shed day. So that took a bit of time but I am all finished. My hibernation has begun for sure.
