George Blake the testator is the son of Humphrey Blake and Sara Williams who lived at Bridgwater, Somerset. George is a brother to Admiral Robert Blake. This line continues back to Robert Blake and Margaret Symonds also of Bridgwater and thence back to Humphrey Blake and Ann (unknown) who lived at Overstowey. The father of Humphrey is not known reliably but is suspected to be John Blake who is shown on the Blake Pedigree Chart held by the Swindon and Wiltshire Record Office. John was a son of William Blake and Margaret Browne. This William was then the son of David Blake and Joane Mallet. This David then being a son of John Blake/Blague and Margaret Dyncham (first wife). This John does not mention having a son by his first wife in his will of 1504.
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2012/10/will-of-john-blake-national-archives.html
If this can ever be proven to be correct (the lineage back) then the Somerset Blake family of Overstowey/Bridgwater would be descendant of the Blake family of Calne/Quemberford Wiltshire.
Always nice to be able to link a will to a known family line and George mentions his children George and Robert, and daughters Sarah, Elizabeth, Bridget and Jane (married to William Bickton) as well as his wife Jane.
To help link this George with the family at Bridgwater his brother William mentions “the children of my brother George Blake of Plymouth George, Robert, Sarah, Elisabeth and Bridget, deceased” in his will of 24th Oct 1667 so George has died by 24th October 1667 although his will is not probated until 19 Feb 1667/68. George the testator is mentioned in his brother Admiral Robert Blake’s will of 1655 (proved 1657).
There are a number of marriages in the right timeframe in the LDS but none to a Jane.

Will of George Blake, Gentleman, Plymstock - The National Archives PROB 11/244/607, probated 16 Aug 1655
Will of George Blake and this is the third of 25 Devon wills that I will be transcribing over the next month or so. I know of three Blake lines in Devon; I do not know if they are related although it is possible that one is descendant of the Somerset Blake family and one of the Hampshire Blake family. Were they related? That is one of the many reasons for the yDNA study of the Blake family and as it slowly grows we are on a voyage of discovery trying to learn more about the deep ancestry of this very interesting British Isles family.
As mentioned in the will of Ferdinando Blake, George is the first cousin once removed of the testator Ferdinand Blake whose will was probated last:
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/06/will-of-ferdinando-blake-elder.html
From the Visitation of Devon 1620 and signed by John Blake the father of this George the testator, John Blake father of George married Dorithie Wood and they had four sons and three daughters namely: John (bc 1608), George, Nicholas and Edward and Suzan, Elizabeth and Jane. George is born before 1620 and probably closer to 1608 so is probably in his 40s when he died. George’s father and Ferdinand were half brothers in that Ferdinand was the son of John Blake and Mary Fortescue and John was the son of John Blake and Elizabeth Slannig (John was actually married a third time to Grace Cock). John the father of John (eldest) and Ferdinand 2nd son was himself the son of John Blake and Stivolla Weeke and in turn this John was the son of John Blake also of Comb and Elizabeth Lugar. Using a somewhat arbitrary scale of 25 years to a generation and knowing that George’s brother was 12 at the taking of the Visitation then his father John was born circa 1583, his father John was born circa 1558 and his father John would be born circa 1533. Investigating the Parish Registers for Combe may be a good next step to look at this particular Blake family. They married primarily into Devon families.
Always nice to link families together and indeed as mentioned in the will of Ferdinand his son Ferdinand sold the property at Combe in 1663/64. The Blake family in Devon can be found at Combe and at North Molton but also in the Plymouth area as likely founding families (although they could have migrated to Devon from elsewhere).
The marriage of William Coram and Jana Blake was celebrated 28 Oct 1639 at Buckland Monachorum, Devon. There was a William Coram son of William baptized 7 Mar 1644 at Ottery St Mary. This Jana Blake is a sister to George the testator and is presumably Jane.
There are references at the beginning and the end of the will in the margin possibly referring to land dealings with respect to Combe in 1666 noting that the eventual inheritor of the land was to be the son of Ferdinand - Ferdinand and that in 1663/64 Ferdinand and his wife Ruth sold the property. There were apparently court cases involving this particular piece of property for a number of years following the sale of the property to the Fortescue family (noting that the grandmother of the seller (mother of Ferdinand the testator in the will published earlier) was Mary Fortescue.

Will of Ferdinando Blake the elder, Gentleman of Yealmpton, Devon - The National Archives PROB 11/196/196, probated 21 May 1646
Ferdinando Blake is the testator and his marriage to Martha Berrie is recorded 21 Feb 1613 at Plympton Saint Mary in Devon (Family Search M05197-1). The marriage of his son Ferdinando to Ruth Bartlett 28 Dec 1648 at Yealmpton in Devon (Family Search M05197-1).
This Ferdinand is descendant of the Blake family at Coombe as I discovered glancing at the next will and at the Visitation for Devon 1620 where Ferdinand was the second son of John Blake of Coombe married to Grace Cock. He is listed as married to Martha Berry but no children are listed for this couple. More with the next will which is George Blake of Coombe.
Children baptized at Yealmpton with parents Ferdinando and Martha Blake (Family Search C05222-1 and there are some missing since he mentions daughters Grace and Ann and son Ferdinando in his will however Honor and John must have died:
Samuel baptized 24 Jul 1619
Honor baptized 3 Feb 1622
John baptized 24 Jul 1640
Martha baptized 21 Feb 1642
Mentioned in the will the children of Ferdinando: Samuel, Grace, Ann, Martha and Ferdinando. The gap between the baptisms is rather large and could it be that he had a second wife Martha?

Ferdinando Blake and Ruth, his wife: Combe and Lower Combe, Plymstock. 1663/4 (National Archives 74/96/9).
According to an Archaeological Dig in this area of Combe, Coombe Farm was held by the Augustinian Priory at Plympton since the 13th century. From before the Dissolution it was the home of the Blake family, who lived there from 1511 to circa 1724. The Blakes sold the farm in 1663 to Edmund Pollexfen of Kitley House in Yealmpton. Further in the document “When John Blake went from leaseholder to landowner in 1544, he assumed the responsibility for running and maintaining a house and buildings that were never intended to be supported on the profits of a single farm.” The house was enormous as judged by the Hearth Tax of 1674.
An interesting entry in the Alumni Oxoniensis for Ferdinando son of Ferdinando of Brixton, Devon, pleb. New Inn Hall, matriculation 21 May 1669 aged 18 years. This would give him a date of birth of 1641 and lead one to think that perhaps the testator Ferdinando did marry twice.
Perhaps one of the other Devon wills will shed more light on this Blake line.

Research and Gardening
Gardening and housework are winning out over research as they have for the last two summers along with enjoying biking, walking and all the other attributes of the now summer time.
I find this time of year that my transcription falls off as I find it difficult to transcribe with the long days of the spring/summer time.
I have begun the Devon wills for the Blake family and there are 27 Blake wills in Devon including the will of the husband of Elizabeth Blake (will blogged today) as I discovered looking through them quickly. I am hoping that some of them do link together. However the Blake family in Devon is large and appears in several distinct areas with quite a long history in the area.
I had always thought that they were descendant of the Somerset family but another researcher has mentioned to me their thoughts on the lines in the north being descendant of the Hampshire (Knights Enham) Blake family. It will be interesting if the latest testers for the Blake yDNA study show matches to the Hampshire lines.
Just to keep any readers for Blake material up to date on where I am at.
With regard to the Pincombe Study I have not done a great deal on Pincombe the past six months but do plan to return. I was finding it a mite disturbing having such diverse yDNA results for the Pincombe family in the United States as opposed to the Pincombe family in Devon, England. The Pincombe family in the US tends to belong to the spelling Pinkham although not entirely as descendants of my 2x great grandfather's brother also live in the United States and use the spelling Pincombe. It is always very disturbing to people who have done research for 30 years to discover they do not match the line that they believe themselves to be in.
With no close matches on my paternal yDNA I am not much disturbed by that happening because lines do go extinct as ours will with this generation (my four brothers do not have any sons) and the acquisition of surnames was a rather random process at times.
My other lines which I was working on day by day have gone somewhat by the board as I get used to my Windows 8 computer which I really do like. I need to set up my calendar once again and will do that in the Fall. I was to begin our son in law\s French Canadian lines as well but that too will wait for the Fall. I want to continue extracting the records from Drouin for his lines.

Will of Elizabeth Blake, widow, Saint David in Exeter, Devon - The National Archives PROB 11/1176/207, probated 12 Mar 1789
This next set of wills is for the Blake family of Devon and begins with Elizabeth Blake who lived at Exeter. In trying to locate her maiden name I consider the possibility she was Elizabeth Hatherly given the bequests in her will. Elizabeth in her will asks to be buried by the side of her husband who is buried at Saint Martin Church in Exeter, Devon.
World Connect does have a tree for a Hatherly family going back to a Narcissus Hatherly married to Elizabeth Galsworthy who were married 24 Apr 1668 in Parkham, Devon and four children are listed: Grace baptized 21 Mar 1669, Arthur baptized 2 Jan 1672, Narcissus baptized 9 Jul 1674 and Elizabeth baptized 12 Jul 1677 all at Parkham, Devon. Narcissus is further traced down with his marriage to Elizabeth Bruton 29 Sep 1708 in Alwington, Devon. The children of this marriage are listed below and Elizabeth baptized 3 May 1722 is listed as being married to a Thomas Blake (no further details other than 26 Oct 1752 at Kenton, Devon). No children listed for Thomas Blake and Elizabeth Hatherley. I have not verified the data at World Connect but certainly the will does bear out the relationships mentioned for the siblings of Elizabeth the Testatrix of this will.
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=hatters&id=I3
An online tree on The Blakes of Somerset that I have mentioned before
http://www.portbury-hundred.co.uk/admiralreport.htm
traces back a marriage of Thomas Blake (born circa 1697) and Elizabeth Hatherley which was celebrated in 1749 at Kenton, Devon (according to this website). Is this Elizabeth the testator? Elizabeth doesn’t mention any children and this site mentions there are five children for this couple. Thomas was 52 when he married Elizabeth Hatherley with children named: John, Martha, Mary, Kath., and Jane. The website further listst the three children of the Reverend Thomas Blake (born circa 1652 and died in Alwington 23 Nov 1713 at the age of 61) named George (bc 1682), Nicholas (bc 1686) and Thomas (bc 1697). The website then has Thomas the son marrying Elizabeth Hatherley and they have five children as mentioned but the numbering begins at iv instead of i. There is nothing further on the children of Thomas and Elizabeth. I can not find any children by these names baptized to Thomas and Elizabeth Blake. However, at this point I am not discounting the possibility that this Elizabeth Blake’s husband is perhaps descendant of the Somerset Blake family. This family is known to be in the Plymouth/Exeter area of Devon from the 1600s on. Did all five children of this couple die? Not impossible given the times but unusual for a family that had sufficient funds to provide the best but again it is not impossible so will not at this point discount the possible connection.
However, as with much of the Blake material online this website has some interesting features but tends to try to group together as many Blake families as possible. Using the unsourced early material perpetuates the errors that were created by Horatio Gates Somersby without adding any new material. I have already shown that some of these relationships as stated are not possible given the historical evidence in the Calendar of Patent Rolls.
The Hatherley family mentioned in the will and found on World Connect appear to be the descendants of Narcissus Hatherly married to Elizabeth Bruton 29 Sep 1708 at Alwington Devon) and their children were all baptized at Bideford Devon (Family Search website):
Narcissus baptized 16 Sep 1709 (from World Connect)
Elizabeth baptized 6 Mar 1711 (from World Connect) and probably died young
John baptized 17 Apr 1713
Arthur baptized 17 Aug 1715; buried 24 Dec 1715
Arthur baptized 17 May 1717 (from World Connect)
William baptized 12 Feb 1719
Elizabeth baptized 3 May 1722
Jane baptized 3 May 1722; buried 2 Jun 1722
Thomas baptized 6 Jan 1725
First mentioned in the will were the three nephews: Narcissus, John and William Henry. They would appear to be the children of Elizabeth’s brother Narcissus who was married to Honor Chope 18 May 1741 in Northam, Devon. Honor is mentioned in the will as a widow. They had seven children all baptized at Bideford namely(* marks nephews mentioned in the will):
*Narcissus baptized 18 Jul 1746
Grace baptized 11 Jul 1748
*John baptized 23 Aug 1750
Elizabeth baptized 6 Apr 1753
Henry baptized 8 Nov 1754
*William Henry baptized 24 Jun 1756
Thomas baptized 11 Aug 1758
*John is married to Elizabeth (mentioned in the will as the wife of John her nephew) and they had ten children between 1781 and 1807 but none mentioned in the will).
*William Henry is married to Elizabeth Fortescue Wells 13 Mar 1781 at Kingsbridge, Devon and they have 11 children between 1781 and 1800 (none of these children are mentioned in the will but Elizabeth wife of William Henry is mentioned).
Both of Elizabeth the Testatrix brothers Narcissus married to Honor and Thomas married to Grace are deceased as both women are mentioned as widows. The second wife of William is not mentioned.
Next to be mentioned is Elizabeth Hatherley (she is likely the sister of Narcissus, John and William Henry) married to Samuel Pyke and they were married 22 Apr 1776 at Abbotsham, Devon (Family Search M05015-1). Hence Elizabeth is also a child of Narcissus Hatherly and Honor Chowe shown above baptized 6 Apr 1753. The World Connect chart does not list her marriage to Samuel Pike.
Looking at the Herman Drewe family next mentioned in the will: Married in Colyton Church 1 May 1775 Herman Drew, clerk, of the parish of Wootton Fitzpaine in the county of Dorset and Sarah Mary Hatherley of this parish married by licence in the presence of Elizabeth Hatherly, Jno. Rolle. Sarah Mary Hatherley is said to be the daughter of William Hatherley and Sarah Baker who were married 27 Sep 1753 at Modbury Devon and she was baptized 3 Dec 1755 at Kenton. According to the chart at World Connect William married a second time to Elizabeth Matthews 12 Sep 1758 at Bideford and they had one child Mary Ann Hatherly (not mentioned in the will) baptized 15 Feb 1762.
The children of Herman Drewe and Sarah Mary Hatherley (Sarah Elizabeth and Mary are mentioned in the will and if either of them die then the funds are to be shared by the rest of their children) are found on Family Search:
Sarah Elizabeth baptized 15 Jun 1776 at Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset
Herman baptized 2 Jan 1778 at Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset
Mary baptized 9 Feb 1780 at Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset
Elizabeth Judith Hatherly also mentioned in the will lastly was the daughter of Thomas Hatherly and Grace and was baptized 18 Sep 1749 at Bideford (Family Search C05032-1). There are two possible marriages for Thomas Hatherly and both appear to be patron entries: Thomas Hatherly and Grace Smith 1748 and Thomas Hatherly and Grace Voisey 1751. Given the birth date of 1749 for Elizabeth Judith it is possible that Thomas married twice with the first Grace having died.

Will of Richard Blake, Gentleman, St Earney, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/982/21 Nov 1772
Richard Blake of St Earney Cornwall Gentleman is the testator of this will. He is the Mr Richard Blake who married Mrs Elizabeth Blake 28 Sep 1732 which is mentioned in the book which I refer to in the next paragraph. I blogged the will of Philip Blake, gentleman of Landrake and wondered if he was a son of this couple but he does not appear to be although he is named in the will as Executor. That leaves John Blake and Thomazin as possible parents although in the will Richard does not say what relationship Philip Blake is to him. He is older than both Elizabeth and Grace. I must admit I am still prone to thinking that Philip is the son of this testator and has already received land and property. It is surprising though not to see him mentioned as a relative to Richard.
Interesting information from Miscellanea Genealogica Et Heraldica, edited by Joseph Jackson Howard, LLD, FSA, Volume II, second series and published at London: 1888 by Mitchell and Hughes, 140 Wardour Street W. The following from page 240:
"On the 5th May 1764 “Rokeby Scott of parish of St. Andrew’s, Plymouth, Lieutenant in ye 68th Company of Marines,” was married at Landrake, co. Cornwall, by licence, to “Grace Dade, widow.” She was widow of John Dade, Esq., and daughter of Richard Blake of Trelogan alias Treluggan, Co. Cornwall, Esq., to whom she is also stated to have been coheir. In the Registers of St. Erney’s, which adjoins Landrake, the baptism of “Grace da. Of Mr Richard Blake and Elizabeth his wife privately May 22, Received publick baptism July 15, 1739,” and the same Registers record the marriage of “Mr Richard Blake and Mrs Elizabeth Blake,” 28 Sept 1732 and the burials of “Richard Blake of Trelogan, Esquire,” 3 Jan 1770, “Elizabeth Blake, widow,” 2 June 1772, and “Mary Dade daughter of Grace Scott,” 25 Apr 1767; also the baptisms of “Philip,” “Elizabeth,” and “Richard,” children of “Mr Richard Blake and Elizabeth his wife.”
Trelogan, or Treluggan, is in the parish of Landrake, but near the church of St. Erney’s parish. In the latter church is a hatchment on which is the date 1770 and the arms of Blake, viz.: Argent, a chevron between three garbs Sable, impaling “Azure, a saltire Argent between four martlets (or birds of some sort) Or:” Crest, “On a chapeau Or a martlet Argent.” Local tradition assigns this hatchment to the memory of Mr. Richard Blake of Trelogan, and as the date on it is that of the year of his burial there seems no reason to doubt it. Can any correspondent identify the arms impaled with Blake? If Elizabeth Blake, whom Mr. Richard Blake married, as above, in 1732, was his only wife, this coat must be intended for hers, and in that case she must, though his namesake, have been of a totally different family of Blake. Burke’s ‘Armory’ gives no coat like it to Blake.
To anyone who can give me any information about the family of Blake of Trelogan, or identify the “John Dade, Esq.,” who married Miss Grace Blake, as her first husband, I shall be very grateful. I may add that Lysons, in his “History of Cornwall,” states that “Dogherty inherits Trelogan from Blake, his wife having been Blake heiress.” Family tradition in her descendants makes Grace Blake a coheir to her father. "
This will bears out the information that Grace (and her sister Elizabeth) were coheirs of their father Richard Blake. Interesting that this Blake family carries the ancient arms of the Blake family namely Argent, a chevron between three garbs Sable.
If Philip who left his will in 1808 isn’t the son of this Richard and Elizabeth what happened to their son Philip? Is my one thought. Plus there was also a son Richard who is not mentioned either.
Another interesting tidbit from Notes and Queries: A medium of intercommunication for Literary Men, General Readers, Etc. Sixth Series, Volume Third, January-June 1881. London (by William White and query from Reginald Stewart Boddington) and found on Google Books on page 89 of this text:
"… Rev Rokeby Scott, Rector of Arthingworth, Northants (he was there buried 3 Oct 1767) and had issue, Rokeby Scott, Lieut. Of Marines (died 28 Oct 1773) having married at St Erney, co Cornwall), May, 1674, Grace daughter of Richard Blake of Trelogan, co Cornwall (relict of John Dade), and had a daughter Emma Anne who married at Holy Trinity, Chester, the Rev. Thomas Maddock, M.A., Prebendary of Chester and who was buried in Chester Cathedral, 19 Feb 1825, leaving issue."
Still the Blake families in Cornwall remain a nystery. Are they all related and do they descend from the Blake family at Comb, Devon?

Will of Reignald Blake, yeoman, Padstow, Cornwall - The National Archives 11/222/68, probated 14 May 1652
The will of Reignald Blake and he names his wife Jane and sons Renald, William, Thomas and Christopher and daughters Catterne Comely and Anstie Smith. The granddaughter has probated the will and she is named Jane Smith. Jane Blake (wife of Reignald the testator) wrote a will which was probated 5 Jul 1652 and she names her sons Reynold and William. Sons in law named by her were Richard Smith (with daughter Jane married to Anstice and Jane brought to probate her grandfather’s will) and William Comely (married to Catterne). Jane Smith was also one of her executors. Perhaps in going through papers they found the grandfather’s will which had not been probated.

He also names a John Blake of Luxilian. John’s will was blogged 29 May 2013:
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/05/will-of-john-blake-of-luxulyan-cornwall.html
Just of interest Luxulyan is 14 miles SE of Padstow.
Also at Padstow there was the will of Oliver Blake probated 26 May 1608 but he does not mention a son Reginald so do not know if there is a relationship between these families.
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/06/will-of-oliver-blake-of-padstow.html
There is mention on the National Archives website of property held by the Arundell family of Lanherne where Thomas Blake son of Reginald Blake, yeoman deceased has surrendered the property:
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=021-ar_4-2&cid=1-1-4-3-2#1-1-4-3-2
This is also mentioned in the will of Andrew Blake Cooper at St Breock Cornwall also blogged:
http://kippeeb.blogspot.ca/2013/05/will-of-andrew-blake-cooper-st-breock.html
How and if these Blake families fit together is still to be determined but having the wills at least gives in many cases a number of generations to study.

Will of Philip Blake, Gentleman of Landrake, Cornwall - The National Archives PROB 11/1477/16, probated 2 Apr 1808
Philip Blake is the testator and he lived at Penquite in Landrake. He names his sons John, Henry, Philip, Richard and Thomas and his daughters Grace (unmarried), Catherine (unmarried) and Elizabeth Denham. Philip’s daughter Thomasine was married to Nicholas Littleton and perhaps deceased at the time of writing the will as not mentioned. Another daughter Mary (baptism not found) was married to Samson Rendle; Mary died in 1795. Ursula the only other daughter not mentioned in the will was married to Jonathan Palmer and grandchildren Elizabeth and Ursula Palmer are mentioned (and Ursula is perhaps deceased).
Looking at the marriage records for Landrake
Philip Blake married Joan Palmer 14 Jul 1791 with witnesses C (senior) Blake and Jonathan Palmer. This Philip is the son of the testator. Philip is listed as a farmer. And his condition has not been inserted (the bride was a spinster).
Philip Blake married Mary Raw 5 May 1712
Mr Richard Blake married Mrs Elizabeth Blake 28 Sep 1732
Walter Blake married Mary Parsons 25 Jul 1743
Nicholas Littleton married Thomasin Blake 30 May 1782
Jonathan Palmer married Ursula Blake 1 Mar 1786
Samson Rundle married Mary Blake 2 Aug 1791
Thomas Blake married Maria Elizabeth Palmer 7 Aug 1800
Henry Blake married Emma Palmer 8 Jun 1831
There are 67 baptisms at Landrake between 1606 and 1872
Henry Blake and his wife Margery baptized seven children between 1606 and 1625 namely: Mary, Nicholas, Anne Urcilla, Dorathy, Bridgett, and Phillipp.
Then a Henry, John, Richard, Walter and John are shown with baptisms for one child each between 1689 and 1743 with two Philip Blake baptisms one the son of John and Thomazin and the second the son of Mr Richard and Mrs. Elizabeth (8 Jul 1733 and 1 Jan 1734 respectively).
Followed by eight baptisms for the children of Philip and Elizabeth Blake at Landrake with St Erney namely:
Ursula 29 Feb 1760
Elizabeth 16 Apr 1762
Henry 20 Jul 1767
Grace 7 Aug1769 (buried 17 Mar 1826 at the age of 56 living at Cutivet, spinster)
Richard 26 Jul 1771
Catharine 6 Aug 1773 (buried 24 Sep 1827 at the age of 54 living at Cutivet, spinster)
George 19 Nov 1775 (buried as an infant in 1776)
Thomas 1 Mar 1778
This accounts for all the sons mentioned in the will except for John and Philip.
This is then followed by the baptisms for the grandchildren of Philip and Elizabeth likely and they number nine for Philip and Joan/Jane, nine for Thomas and Maria, nine for Richard and Philadelphia.
The testator Mr Philip Blake was buried at Landrake (living at Penquite) 25 Feb 1808 at the age of 74 giving him a likely year of birth of 1734 but having two baptisms one in 1733 and one in 1734 that doesn’t help to decide his parents although he is perhaps the son of Mr. Richard and Elizabeth Blake given his subsequent status. The testator Philip’s wife Elizabeth was buried 30 Jan 1794 at the age of 59 giving her a year of birth of 1735.
Looking at the LDS I found a couple more baptisms for children of Philip and Elizabeth Blake:
Thomazin 10 Jan 1755 at St Erney
John 4 Dec 1757 at Landrake
On Find My Past there was a marriage celebrated at Plymouth, Devon 21 Mar 1754 between Philip Blake and Elizabeth Denstowe.
World Connect has a partial family tree with Philip Blake having a year of birth circa 1768. I suspect this is fairly accurate as he was likely born after Henry (born 1767) as he is named after him in the will. Grace was born in 1769.

From “A Complete Parochial History of the County of Cornwall: Compiled Volume 2 by Joseph Poisue (on Google Books: http://books.google.ca/books?id=MRsiAQAAIAAJ&pg=PA400&lpg=PA400&dq=%22philip+blake%22+%2B+landrake&source=bl&ots=xJ--ab7aXF&sig=HziwzoJUL8l5KSqwIKMDW9XSOP8&hl=en&sa=X&ei=706vUeeCO4i5rgHjtIDADg&ved=0CCkQ6AEwADgK#v=onepage&q=%22philip%20blake%22%20%2B%20landrake&f=false)\ and on page 400
The tombstone for Philip Blake: Near this place lie deposited the remains of Philip Blake, late of Penquite, in this parish, gent., who departed this life the 20th day of February, A.D., 1808; aged 74 years. Also the remains of Elizabeth his wife, who departed this life the 27th day of January, A.D. 1794; aged 60 years. And also the remains of George their son who departed this life the 4th day of November, 1776; aged 12 months.
Sacred to the memory of Samson Rundle (late of this village (landrake) who departed this life March the 27 1821, aged 53 years. Also of Mary, his former wife, and daughter of Philip Blake, late of Penquite, in this parish. She departed this life in April, 1795; aged 30 years.
Sacred to the memory of Catherine Blake, late of Cutivett, who departed this life September the 20th, 1827; aged 54 years.
I did not find a baptism for Mary (daughter of Philip and Elizabeth) who was married to Samson Rundle/Rendle. They were married 2 Aug 1791 at Landrake and he was of St Mellion (witnesses C (Senior) Blake and Philip (junior) Blake and perhaps this is P (Senior)).
The Visitation of Cornwall provides some information on Thomazine in that her daughter Eleanor Littleton (grand daughter mentioned in the will below) was born 6 July 1791 and married 29 May 1816 to Philip Porter.
But the ancestry of this Blake line eludes me for the moment.
