John Blake, yeoman of Prestbury, is the testator. He names his eldest son Thomas executor and Thomas will inherit all of his property and goods with some bequests for his other children John, Mary Halling (her husband and three children), Elinor, William, Elizabeth and Robert.
Prestbury is two miles from Cheltenham, 5 miles from Up Hatherley, 5 miles from Shipton, 6 miles from Cowley, and ten miles from Duntisbourne Abbotts and Gloucester.
On Family Search I did find the baptism of a Robert Blake son of John Blake at Prestbury 1 Mar 1660 ("England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NLJK-CXL : accessed 15 Jul 2014), Robert Blake, 01 Mar 1660; citing PRESTBURY,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND, reference ; FHL microfilm 417146.). This Blog will talk about researching my English ancestors from Canada but also the ancestors of our son in law whose families stretch back far into Colonial French Canada. My one name study of Blake and of Pincombe also dominate my blog these days. I published the update and revision of The Siderfin Family of West Somerset and it can be downloaded using - http://www.kipp-blake-families.ca/The Siderfin Family of West Somerset - Elizabeth Kipp 4600.pdf
