Another item I have suddenly realized a few months back as I was cleaning was the dust. I never really noticed that dust could accumulate so much in one week that it would be little balls in the corner sort of thing and that became very apparent to me sometime in the fall when one is closing up the house to the winter cold. I think perhaps I just didn't remember initially and then the realization that I was seeing balls of dust even though I clean every week - amazing. As I continue to look at this oil painting I have seen for many many years the tiny little things that have appeared over this past winter are quite remarkable. Now I am trying to remember what I used to see compared to what I see now. I always thought people's sight was pretty much there when you were born but actually it probably is not although a baby always recognizes your voice - I noticed that immediately as my newborn immediately turned her head towards me when I spoke. But obviously the sight was developing as the brain took in what it can see - the obvious conclusion in that is that blind people could perhaps learn to see if the brain could be accessed in a way that permitted their vision to develop - very futuristic for sure but interesting. They may already be doing this; eyes is not something I really studied at all in my heavy reading days in medical literature - long long times ago.
I did absolutely no work yesterday. I was thinking about how to plan my days to incorporate the wills into the day. I continue with my Latin and my French (need to work the German in as well) on Duolingo as I really do not think of that as work but rather learning. I would wish they did some old Latin just for interest but can see that most people are probably not into that. I need to look at the readers that I have to work on that. Perhaps I will shift away from Duolingo but probably not as my spoken French appears to be improving. I could just shift away from the Latin. The repetition does not lead me to the old Latin that I really need to work at. Plus I spent the day watching the election returns as they clarified that this is a minority government (only by three seats and normally one would want one spare for the speaker so four actually). But amazing that the Liberal Party turned this around and it is all thanks to Mark Carney who turned up at work yesterday - I think perhaps he is a workaholic and in his retirement wanted something still very meaningful to do and he is doing it. Already a visit planned between our Prime Minister and the President of the United States. Lots to discuss I am sure. We will now shift into high gear I hope that everyone is on board with the plans for Canada to move forward in our productivity mostly internally; trade is a luxury and when it is there we can encourage it but making Canada more productive is very important for our personal existence. The provincial jurisdictions should remain there and if money is needed for health care then the Ontario Health Tax has proven to be effective here in protecting our medical system although money is always needed as the very large group of Baby Boomers (born 1946-1965) reaches retirement and old age. I am not really sure why people always want the taxes reduced; they support us and our system. Perhaps a return of the Participaction Activities of the 1970s/1980s would be an excellent usage of Health Canada promoting this constant attention to physical activity especially in retired people (and retired people could be involved on a volunteer basis in recreating some of these areas (the funding for the purchase of supplies could be getting the local stores to support this initiative and they could put their advertising on the various exercise stations)). A thought for the future and we will have the lumber/steel available likely since housing is also a high priority.
Teatime completed and Solitaire games played. Breakfast but first Yoga.
