Working through an item on a personal level tugging at my conscience, I continued with moving the new matches into my databases etc yesterday. I am working on the letter C and actually completed most of them to my surprise as there was quite a long list with just eight remaining. An equally long list of D surnames but should get into those today. I have now set aside 18 that did not fit my criteria and in total there are 260 names left to work through so I have done quite well. I will continue to concentrate on these matches today. There are maybe a dozen that I can easily place into a known family line and the others are really just extras along each chromosome. But once this task is completed and I extract the matches from FT DNA and Living DNA (and I must also look at GedMatch) then the task of re-phasing my grandparents can begin.
A busy day yesterday in terms of exercise with my usual waking up exercises which amount to a cardio load of 27, then Yoga at a cardio load of 57, followed by weightlifting at a cardio load of 82, my run at a cardio load of 88, followed by a walk with a cardio load of 11 and finally yoga/calisthenics with a cardio load of 54 giving me a cardio load of 341 which includes any other exercise through the day. My logged workouts amount to 94% and my general activity just 6% (that is 250 steps every hour mostly plus the normal walking about preparing meals). So a good day, above the suggested level of cardio but not much. I find that my bpm running from 42 to 182 to be interesting with a resting bpm of 54. That is pretty much the way most days flow. I wonder about the 42 but I keep waking up!
Minus 1 degree celsius today and it is cloudy. Apparently we might get light rain or snow which is pretty normal for April. The spring flowers finally pushed through the ground with the snowdrops just coming into bloom. The crocuses are trying to break through so perhaps another few days. Usually it is a beautiful purple hue out there in the gardens but it is late this year. Edward kept saying that it thought the seasons were shifting forward slightly. Today I am noticing quite clearly the different orientations of the branches of the trees out back. By the time of cataract surgery last year the leaves were all on the trees and not so noticeable the individual bare branches. Last fall I did notice the change in vision with regard to the orientation of the branches but it is more apparent to me for some reason lately. Perhaps it is an old brain that simply takes a little longer to adjust to all of these changes (I am 79). It is a welcome change for sure not to see a more or less somewhat flat looking world when you know it actually isn't!
Although most of the matches in DNA are My Heritage in this current crop there are a lot of 23 and Me that I collected before the cataract surgery and since 2020. That was lucky actually as there have not been that many new ones in the last year. A few good ones it would be nice to see but I can also tell by their matches where I am probably matching them. I am starting to be curious about the matches on Living DNA but suspect they will be heavy on the Blake side with so many 2x great grandchildren of John Blake and Ann (Farmer) Blake who would be in my age range and all the way to 4x and 5x great grandchildren with the masses of people much younger than me.
Teatime and solitaire puzzles. Whilst I make the tea I will work on my latest Sudoku puzzle and I am into Challenging. Some of them actually are.
