Hémard dit Pot[e]vin family

Marguerite Hémard married Nicolas Joseph Grégoire 6 Feb 1837 and her parents were identified as Jean Pierre Hémard and Catherine Payant who were themselves married 14 Oct 1782 at La prairie. Their marriage proved to be quite elusive in that neither of their surnames matches the spellings given to them on their daughter's marriage lines.

A lot of work to do on that transcription but it does identify the parents of Pierre Aimard as Antoine Aimard and Marie Bourgis who were themselves married 29 Oct 1738 at Boucherville. The similarity is so much that Pierre Aimard must be Pierre Hémard.The marriage of Antoine Hémard and Marie Bourget is in Tanguay where the names are spelled Antoine Aymard and Marie-Joseph Bourgery who were married 29 Oct 1738 at Boucherville. The parents of Antoine were Pierre Aymard and Marguerite Bloys although the marriage lines read Pierre Aymard and Marguerite Belois when they married 6 Feb 1702 at Longueuil. The parents of Pierre were married in France and the marriage lines suggest that they still live in France. Hence Pierre Aymard married to Marguerite Belois are Generation 1.

Antoine Aymard married to Marie-Joseph Bourgery is Generation 2.

Pierre Hémard married to Catherine Payette dite St Onge is Generation 3.

Marguerite Hémard married to Nicolas Joseph Grégoire is Generation 4.
