That is what I have been waiting to hear for a while now. A new military base in Nunavut is perfect and exactly what we need. It will take a couple of years to construct and I am waiting to hear more details on how soon this can begin. It will be an enormous effort and costly for sure and bring us up to our needed level of commitment in NATO and perhaps beyond which I would like to see - 2% is not really enough - 4% is better. If we start to sell our oil and gas to others buyers at full price we can easily afford to do this I think. A great step forward; thankyou to Pierre Poilievre for that news. An excellent lifting announcement during a rather difficult winter and being state of the art I am sure will help to entice more young people into the military to be part of such a venture. I would love to hear if the Conservatives would support free education for our military when they retire as they are still young and productive after ten years in the military. The actual timing I really have no idea but the GI Bill in the United States has been very well used by retiring servicemen/women. Great idea.
The new ice breakers are also a perfect addition to our fleet. Two years he says to build it and we will cut down on Foreign Aid which is a really good idea. With all that we are going through this past couple of weeks not one country in the world has stood up for us particularly. We have to think of ourselves for a bit and get ourselves up to scratch especially in the military. I can think of a few more cuts that should be made as well.
