Continuing research days

Thinking back again on where I was with the Blake family of Andover; it seems like ages ago that I was working on the Blake family. I think my first step is to look at the UK Archives and see if there is anything that I can purchase to help me with this supposition I have suggested that Robert Blake who left his will in 1521 at Enham had a third son - he mentions Richard and Thomas but I am suggesting he had a third son possibly Robert who was married to Jone Blake who left her will in 1527 naming her children Robert, Nicholas and Elizabeth.

Cold weather moving in and I can hibernate  now for the winter (just going out for food once a week or every two weeks or so) although must clear away the leaves from that walnut tree as they poison the grass and garden area. The only task I have to do is my blood work when my daughter is here at Christmas. It is nice having so few commitments for sure; I do not have to go anywhere or do anything outside of the house all winter long except shovel the porch and patio area - lovely. I could pay them to do that but the fresh air and exercise is good for me.

A review of the Hampshire Archives does not appear to bring up anything useful with regard to Robert Blake (Blayke) who left his will in 1521. His son Richard left his will in 1522 and probated in 1522. Some researchers have suggested that this Robert had a brother  but I do not get the sense of that from Robert's will. That idea put forward to account for family lines perhaps no ideas on that.

I am still thinking that the generational tree will begin with Robert Blake (will dated 1521). Going back further may have to wait for another researcher tracing this family back in time.  So I am committed to proceeding further starting with Robert as Generation one. Not much is known about him including the name of his wife (there used to be a reference to a will for Maude Blake but it has disappeared so will not include that thought in this tree). I do think I will put in my postulation of a son possibly called Robert as the husband of Jone Blake. She does not identify her husband in the will.

Using Robert's, Richard's and Jone's will I will create the second generation and third and all of their wills as available. The wills really are very handy to have and you feel that with the Pincombe study. It is good to be back with the Blake family for a bit as I wait for the Inheritance Dispute document to be copied.

The Blake Newsletter I did publish the other day and it is now time for the H11 Newsletter which I will work on early in the week. It is only a two page at most because I only report on any new research I find. The new mitochondrial tree is  much better at giving earlier details to people as I did not wish to intrude on any of my members of the group by too deep recording of facts in a newsletter.

Solitaire puzzles to do.
