The friendship between Canada and the United States dates back over 200 years. It has been a beautiful happening throughout my life. Mind you as a child we always felt distant from the United States but we all knew we shared a huge border with them; the longest shared demilitarized border in the world. I still think that there is a great friendship between us but sadly eroded this past six months. For instance I never looked particularly at items in the store to see where they were made but tariff has made that a necessity in our lives here. It is so unfortunate because so many of us have cousins on the other side of the border. But I think even as trade erodes our friendship can go on for ever; we just will have to work at it more. Exciting to think of all the projects in mind to improve our GDP and heal the economy; rebuilding what was lost. Buying what is made in other provinces and finding new markets to buy from and sell to around the world. President Trump did say that he did not need anything/nor want anything from Canada so exploring the world to see where there is a need is something that Prime Minister Carney and his Ministers have been doing around the world. I like it. There is still pain in that statement but we will not let it affect our beautiful friendship with our American neighbours.
Really the month of August has passed very quickly. I did not actually expect to accomplish much outside and I did not so that works out. In September I intend to do more work outside. It will likely be cooler and that will work better for sure. I want to clean up all the garden beds and will do maybe an hour a day working my way along the yard. I will also pull the weeds in the grass as I pass by it and then cut the grass. It has not been cut but it also hasn't grown.
More work on the matches yesterday and I continue to work away at the Living DNA material. Some of the matches capture areas where I had very little data so is rather interesting. The big job will be looking at trees on Find My Past, Ancestry, My Heritage and FT DNA. I will just search my two surnames that I am into writing the books on at the moment - Blake and Pincombe - and see what comes out of that. With Ancestry especially but the others as well I can be more exacting working on the Blake/Pincombe couples in my lines and then breaking that down to the 3x great grandparent couples. So that idea is already planned and just needs to be implemented.
The dogs keep me busy most days and rain yesterday complicated their life a little as they love to just go out there and run in the yard. We will see how today flows as I think rain has also been predicted for today.
Prayers continuing for the souls of the two young children murdered in the School shooting in Milwaukee as well as prayers for those injured as some are still in hospital in serious condition. Prayers for the children of Gaza and the children of Israel; that their lives may become much easier in the months and years ahead with Hamas gone from both of their lives. Prayers for the people of Ukraine as the Satanic Russians continue to attack and murder them. God in your mercy love the downtrodden and protect the innocent. But I know that God watches He does not act; He waits for us to do the right thing. Love our neighbour as ourself (with love being respect).
Another Saturday and it will be a clothes washing day likely since the rates are reduced on weekends and holidays. Why not take advantage of that for sure.
Early today and will do a cleaning up of the desktop. Then tea time, dogs will wake up and breakfast. I did a lot of exercise yesterday but probably will again today although the FitBit says I could take it easy.
