And it is snowing once again after the great melt. Coming down thickly now so perhaps skiing this afternoon - time will tell but I expect the paths will be busy if it continues. Nothing like a lovely ski in Canada in the wintertime especially on New Year's Day.
I did finally make it to the store to look at tablets and did purchase one but need to wait to pick it up shortly (early in January) according to the person who sold it to me. This is another American Store that bought out its Canadian equivalent. It was packed with people buying electronics/perhaps picking them up as that line looked like it might be that. So yet another place where we buy American goods here in Canada (there are a lot of American stores here). I enjoyed the tablet that I used on our travels. I bought the first one to go to England in 2013 and it also went to France in 2014 then in 2016 I bought a new one that took us to the British Isles (all of it including Erie) and then for quite a bit of traveling in Canada. It finally just couldn't handle all the new software perhaps around 2019 or so and I just let that go as I wasn't using it much during COVID - the desktop was always available since we barely left home except for groceries/medicines. But now a tablet sounds like a good item to have once again. This one has a keyboard that serves as a cover as well. I am looking forward to it and I can also add a 1 terabyte memory card to it. I really do not load up on apps as I do not download music or play it even; I practically never watch Youtube (although it might be interesting having Church on Youtube for sure) and the apps I do use are generally on there already. But it is nice to have along on a trip or just going to visit which I do on rare occasions.
I did not complete the Pincombe-Pinkham Newsletter but will do that next and then work on the Blake Newsletter. I have been lazy this Christmas but I suspect it is all the skiing that we did get to do. It is a lot for this old person for sure but greatly enjoyed. I should put the address for the Companion Book into this blog as well:
The book:
http://www.kipp-blake-families.ca/Companion Charting Book with notes for The Siderfin Family of West Somerset - Elizabeth Kipp 4600.pdf
Paste this line into your browser or
Go to my website:
http://www.kipp-blake-families.ca/elizabethmain.htm
and select from the list of 3x great grandparents: SIDERFIN and go to the bottom of that section where the two books are listed.
I will check for comments for a few days on the blog; I generally forget and then discover them perhaps six months later. You can just email me with a comment - kippeeb@rogers.com. That is definitely quicker as I do read (or delete) all of my emails every day. I delete them if they are junk. I generally read everything though just in case it isn't junk as titles can be misleading.
Snow still coming down thickly but it will take a couple of hours at this sort of light to medium snowfall for there to be sufficient accumulation. What we need is a white-out (thick snow fall) to get a good base once again.
Sad news from New Orleans, prayers for the dead and those many people injured and possibly fighting for their lives in the hospital and why do terrorists exist really? They are sort of like rabid foxes that need to be destroyed immediately in order not to harm the rest of their population or ours. If they were human they would not have done what they did in Israel to babies, children, old and young men and women. They are sick dogs or rabid foxes however you want to see them; their human qualities do not exist because they sacrifice anyone for their supposed cause. I do not pray for the death of anyone; but it does mean life for those who have managed to escape the path.
This past year in our country the Palestinians have spoiled every activity that has been held here as they celebrate the terrorists who attacked Israel and continue to hold captive children, men and women (some elderly) underground with insufficient food and clothing. They did nothing to help the children of Gaza when they could have spent their time caring for them here where they would be safe. We did that during the Second World War shielding children from the British Isles from the total war that was against them. Usually an attacking country does not have the luxury of their children being protected when the tide turns but it could have happened; all that was needed for young children was their DNA so that they could be returned to their families when this war is done. World War II lasted six years but small children eat little and need very little space and this is a huge country and houses here are large even a small one like mine. I did not take on such a project since children deserve to be where they are understood and they have a family that makes them feel safe.
Tea time finished, yoga finished, breakfast eaten and now back to work.
