St Stephen's Westminster

The service at Epiphany is one of my favourites as we always called it Old Christmas in my childhood. That was how we saw it as children, the gifts for the Christ Child celebrated at Epiphany. A beautiful Church and a perfect service with all the lovely hymns and prayers. I was really happy to be able to attend this service on You-Tube. The homily I found particularly interesting. It is again reminiscent of Anglican Church services of my youth as my priests were all from the British Isles  - I appreciate their absolute enthusiasm for God and the Church.

Continued reading the Blake book making a few cosmetic changes here and there. Overall I am surprised as I had anticipated a lot of errors but I think in the long run the errors that I found later in the Siderfin book were more of a feature of my rushing at the end. One should never rush or push ones eyes further than necessary. Take time to just complete the book and get it published without any push on yourself.

Lots of exercise; really cold as it is - 17 degrees celsius now and the sky is beautiful. We worked on the telescope a couple of days ago for the meteor shower but decided not to set it up outside last night when it was finally clear. Another day; another meteor shower, we certainly get lots of those.

Tea being drank and the solitaire games are complete. The  Expert Pyramid was a challenge today and greatly enjoyed. Yoga next and then breakfast. Cleaning day one and shall get started at that in a bit.

I have been watching CNN these days as the new year of the Congress in the United States begins. This is certification of the vote for the incoming President day. My memory of last time in 2021 when the vote was certified for the current President Biden is very real I find. We were shocked but the Americans quickly brought it all to order we were happy to see. Our cousins (in my case and they are all second cousins or greater), neighbours and friends in the United States are important to Canadians and we like to see them prosper and be happy. The inauguration of their President is a special moment each four years for all of them whether they voted for the person or not. It is part of their heritage to celebrate this special day every four years. It is what President George Washington wanted for them all those years ago. No more Kings he said we are going to manage our own lives here on this continent. Canada still has their King (I think King Charles III is a marvelous person although the sadness around Diana will always be there) and it suits us but if time and events are such that we do one day become the Greater United States of America (and we will be great all of us Americans and Canadians) then we will move forward together on our quest to make this the best world possible. Where everyone has a good life on God's earth. May God Bless the United States of America on their Special Day and all days. Here in Canada we are working our way along the democratic path and we will see where it takes us this week.
