9 degrees celsius

A cold  morning to begin the day although it is predicted to go up to 27 degrees celsius. But the weather for Friday suggests that we will have frost on Friday night/Saturday morning with 1 degree celsius predicted. Finally I have waited a while as I do want to work on the grounds outside and clear away for the winter. This year I shall cut everything back once it is frost struck and let it rot on the ground to enrich the earth.

Cleaning accomplished yesterday and just one more set of things to do to complete my Fall housecleaning. That I will complete today.

No work on the matches at all actually although I did think about the other databases that I now need to search for the latest entries. I have extracted Ancestry thus far and will do a quick followup as that was a week ago now.

Already Wednesday the week is flowing by rapidly as we watch the colours come in the maple tree at the back - some nice colour at the apex of the tree. The view completely blocked now out of the right side of the window in my work room and perhaps half blocked or more on the left side of the window (primarily the black walnut tree which grew from a squirrel burying a seed and now it is enormous sucking up all the moisture and filling the yard with roots so much so that a shovel can barely break in. But trees we need as they are carbon catchers.

Another dreadful fire season in Canada as summer has turned into that. Being a polar nation we will suffer a good deal from wildfire and extreme heat unusual in this part of the world. This summer was no exception in that regard for sure and some fires still burn or smoulder but less apparent now that the cooler rainier weather is coming. We will soon be into the wet season culminating with snowfall which covers the fires and helps to put them out or control them.

Perhaps some work on the matches today as there are only  nine left. It has been a long trek through them but the setup at Living DNA is absolutely excellent letting you flip from one sibling to another that shares a common match.

Drinking tea and solitaire puzzles to do.
