Decisions, Decisions

Yesterday I worked my way through the second photo book and I probably extracted three times as many photos as from the first photo book that I worked on the day before. I also had a decision on donating the sets of images for the trips (primarily objects of interest, grave stones, plaques (especially interesting actually with their long lists of names)) and did try to see if Edward's partner in the trips would like them (a lot of them are probably online these days though). Once I hear back on that then I will either prepare them for him or start shredding all those pictures simply because they take up a lot of space compared to the small amount of space they occupy as slides or as images. So one decision made and I continue working on the family photos books which I would like to accomplish by Christmas for sure.

How sad I only just discovered that George Anderson, Edward's partner for the trips, passed away last year. I do live in a bubble for sure and sent a note to apologize for my email asking about the pictures. So I will shred them as they exist both with me and with the organization for whom they did the trips in electronic form. I have no idea where his widow is living and I actually forget where they lived as Edward always drove there. Edward did not really like me to drive him but amazingly he absolutely trusted me on the highways as I would drive for miles both here in Canada and in the United States and he would sleep. Mind you these are super highways that we were on and one just needed to keep to one's lane and pass when it was safe. They were good friends George and Edward but when Edward took ill in 2011 we did not really see them again as Edward was a long time recovering and then he started going to visit his many cousins and George did not go to the OGS meetings as far as I can remember. As I write I do recall that we did see them occasionally at UEL meetings when Edward and I went. But that is quite a while ago and before COVID. Life seems to have this definite watershed between before COVID and after COVID.

I also worked on the matches yesterday and am now down to  95 to place into my files. I will continue working on those today and it looks like about a dozen at a time or so - perhaps another couple of weeks will see that accomplished as cleaning days are arriving once again early next week and generally I do not get much done on those days of that nature of work.

Interesting dinner last night with the left over salmon and left over potatoes. I made salmon salad with pickle and potato salad with onions and carrots. Both were delicious along with a slice of toast to spread my salmon salad on. Then a lovely tomato to go with it as more fresh vegetable. I must make a banana bread one of these days. Unless I eat some sweet dessert I do not tend to keep my weight up to the usual weight I keep at my 80 years of age. I think losing a pound a year as one ages is a good step forward and I am already at the best weight for my age.

Good exercise routines all day and I accomplished my usual 15000 steps per day. It is possible to do all those steps without ever going outside although I do like a good walk outside but it takes a lot of time as I can actually do items as I walk about the house. I am starting a new set of yoga routines using "My Fitness Coach" on the Wii. I used to do that but then I designed my calisthenics/yoga routine but I am returning to the Wii once again as the variety that it offers is superior to my designed exercise which is the same every time although I did find it a benefit at the time.

Listened carefully to the Prime Minister yesterday and also listened to Premier Moe of Saskatchewan when he spoke a couple of days ago on his trip to Asia looking for new markets for Saskatchewan products. I continue supportive of the Prime Minister and await the projects to be unveiled when Parliament returns. I hate this pace as I think Parliament should have gone back in in August but I will be patient. There are many consultations and it is good that the National Chief of the First Nations has also spoken and held their Annual meeting of all the Chiefs of the First Nations. Power and Politics was also very interesting yesterday and listened to the two hours of discussion. I am not entirely sure that I agree that Canadians are becoming impatient to have more visible happenings; I think we generally trust the Prime Minister and his Cabinet to keep moving forward as we create more and more industry that was lost during free trade (bought up and closed down, or bought up and in continuance). Rerooting more industry in Canada is really important and benevolent foreign ownership is fine. The most important item that continues to come out of all these discussions is our need to buy Made in Canada if the product exists here and if it doesn't there is a potential market item for consideration by those who have the desire to create industry in Canada.

Today it will be rowing and yoga and running as my exercise routines other than my two early morning exercise routines. Off to make my tea and then solitaire games.
