I was clinging a bit to my glasses but when I drove the car yesterday I discovered that I could see the speedometer quite easily and read the numbers so no glasses which really was an amazing thing to this person who has worn glasses since she was one year of age. However, I will still not drive a lot because I simply do not have to go anywhere outside of food gathering. When I was young I noted older people driving slowly on highways and that just doesn't work in this modern age. Sorry to say it but it is a hazard and I do not want to be that kind of hazard if I can avoid it and I can. In this modern electronic age one can keep in touch with anyone just by the stroke of a pen so to speak. In my case I am not really a great talker unless I dominate the conversation which I do consider to be somewhat rude so not being in conversation a lot works for me and doesn't go counter against my thoughts on dominating a conversation. One can always listen to other ideas for sure and that has given us the great advances that we see around us today.
Is that really what is going on in the world; a desire to go backwards to a time when women had few rights and children just fitted in a mold that did not take advantage of their abilities. That was the dark ages when life did not progress for hundreds of years but there was a cause - the plague and we do not have to repeat that. Moving ahead is what humans are meant to do. We have been doing it for thousands of years and it has given us everything we have unfortunately including climate change. But we can defeat that to; we just need to set our minds and hearts to do that. Climate Change is the scourge of our civilization at the moment and it is destroying our earth and we must find a way to manage it. But that doesn't get managed by protests in the streets; it needs money and brains working on it night and day around the globe. It may turn a profit for some but in the long run the entire world would benefit.
Our first solitary attempts to put a rocket into space have fallen a bit short but time is always on the side of youth in that regard. Try try again and success will come because you know it can be done; that is the secret of being second or whatever at anything. Success is in the future; it just takes time.
Enough philosophy; I am not really into that. Just a hard nosed science type of person who has morphed into a history buff although I always loved history as a child.
Nothing done yesterday on the matches but the basement is clean and today it is the main floor. It is also labour day and being the daughter of a business owner I do not see it quite the same way. I am not opposed to unions per se but I do think they need to blend more with the management so that both sides can work well together. My few clashes with unions in my life have taught me that actually. I was non-union when I worked at the Post Office all those years ago now and nine months pregnant as I crossed the picket line almost up to my due date but I will say they stood back and left me to go in and do my work. I was managerial exclusion and unions in those days were less militant marching about here and there. I do not need the signs of union activity day after day; I know you are striking and I can see some of your arguments. But we are in crisis mode here and need all hands on deck to maintain our GDP and get life rolling once again in Canada with a more balanced trade output on our part since a good deal was bought up and closed or simply foreign owned and controlled and we need to get back to where we manage our essential type of industries although having said that I think foreign investment can be great for everybody but it has to be benevolent and not close things down.
I found it mysterious that the strike by Air Canada workers kept mentioning helping people manage when they are getting on a plane - I have never had any assistance (except for food delivery) although I have not traveled now for about seven years I think but still I do not need anyone to help me but I see other duties as being very important and it is something the union and management will have to work through. But stressing that requirement to help just seemed like the wrong point actually. Their duties in other regards like safety are much more important. But can one manage these days without having stewards on a plane - not really because trust has been broken and we have to watch everybody. So too bad about that. As usual the terrorists amongst us are always spoiling everything and what for one wonders? To eliminate everyone but themselves from the world I guess. What a Godless world that would be.
On to the day and it is passing quickly, tea is drank, Yoga next and then breakfast. Life is returning to normal after a long summer. I must get some work done outside as well but cleaning days are inside work and so that leaves me just part of the week to do that. Selling in the near future always seems in my mind these days.
