A lot of wise decisions were made last evening in Parliament

If a party is in opposition to the government there was a lot they would not like in the budget purely on purpose because the climate right now is difficult - people are worried about so many items but first and foremost we need to tariff proof our economy so that we can ride the waves of commerce as it flows and not be thrown off track. Our association with our good friend and neighbour worked for years and we got used to it but we weren't growing and we need to. We were dependent on foreign companies and we need to have a bigger say so that it is foreign investment rather than foreign control. This budget will do that for us but it will not be easy. But the people prevailed and we did not want an election and the appropriate response followed that. Now it is time to roll up our sleeves and do everything we can do to bring these projects to fruition because they all work for Canada - they are spread out across the provinces and they exist already but they need support of one kind or another. So I was happy to see the reality of what a lot of people thought would happen.

But our Prime Minister proved once again why he is the leader; not waiting to take a bow he will be off to the G20 to represent Canada in a way we have never been represented before. He isn't there for the curtain calls; he is there for Canada in the future and he has shown the way. I am tired of the bickering that belongs somewhere else; not in parliament.  Get the job done and quickly; Canada awaits. The plan unfolds in front of us; we just need to put our shoulders to the yoke and make it work.

Off to the dentist yesterday finally, I had to cancel at the last minute a couple of weeks ago which was a first for me in my life when I came down suddenly with flu but it was a nasty flu and has taken time for me to really be myself again. Plus I did have my flu shot very soon after which probably showed up a little during my recovery although I have no regrets; I already had the appointment and simply did not want to miss it and I did not. I even drove myself there in a snowstorm; masked and ready. So teeth cleaned and descaled for another nine months. For years I went to the dentist and never had a filling but I like to have them checked over regularly by professionals. At 80 I still have most of my teeth but six of them are capped and it is good to have their extra extensive cleaning around those caps. I had a nice walk over and actually doubled it because I was a bit early and walked back and forth twice.

I also completed my cleaning of the top floor and the stairs going down to the first floor. So today the main floor will be my cleaning aim and I am feeling better. At 80 it is a slower process from illness to well again.  The matches also got worked on as I repair my errors of a few years ago although at the time I recognized the problem as it shows up as question marks on these files. The two Buller cousins are to be thanked for testing for sure and making this chromosome so much easier to look at. They live in far off New Zealand and are descendant of my great grandfather Edwin Denner Buller's younger brother Clement who replaced his elder brother in the jewellery business in South Africa after Edwin was drafted/volunteered to be a medic in the war effort of the First Boer War. Moving forward with Chromosome 3 but a trifle slower than the other chromosomes. All but three of the crossover points are proven at this point and the two possible crossover points still have not proven to exist; time will tell. The other three simply haven't shown up yet although I can see them on the DNA Painter charts with each sibling. The two phantom ones are not apparent on the chart of the sibling to whom they supposedly belong.

Full speed ahead Canada; lets get this job done - shovels in the ground or whatever. Also good news is more funding for Port Churchill announced by the Prime Minister and the Premier of Manitoba on the day of the Grey Cup win for Saskatchewan. The funding also includes upgrades to the current railway line which is owned by the First Nations. There will also be a storage area for rare minerals which goes along with the railway line needed in Northern Ontario to get the produce to market. Ontario needs to put money into the north and is hopefully planning all of that work this winter that needs to be done in the north. Surely we can do better than ten years to go from Arnprior to Renfrew widening the road to four lanes. I think so; our youth is strong and eager to work; lets get this done.

We need to think of it as a new country just like a new house has a huge mortgage and we will pay it off over time (the country is old but it has new owners coming up bright and eager to do well) and it is our youth who will carry a lot of that but we, the old, also need to direct our thoughts and our contributions towards this growth of Canada.

Time to make tea and first breakfast of the day. Up two pounds now and will slow down on the food intake as I only want to gain two more.
