Regular week of work begins again and it is cleaning day on the top floor. I will begin shortly and a bit topsy turvy this week as I will do the bathroom first and then the vacuuming of the rest and dusting. Heavy snow and then it was a lovely white and then it melted so we are back to the usual look of late Fall once again although there is snow in the forecast. It will be nice when it comes as skiing comes to mind and the skis are all ready to do their winter chore of carrying me over the snow.
Like everyone else I await the vote on the Budget but also at 8:30 a.m. there is a review coming down on inflation and where we are at. Shopping for groceries I haven't noticed any increase - it still costs me about $85 a week which is up $10 over last year at this time but I am also buying slightly differently so can not say if there is an increase of $10 in actual fact. I only buy basic food for the most part although last week I did buy a box of granola bars coated in chocolate (that seemed like a good plan although I am not really into eating that sort of thing on a regular basis). But the need to regain four pounds (up two pounds now) seemed to call for reinforcements. I try to stay steady at my weight although I expect to lose perhaps a pound a year for the rest of my days as I shrink slowly down from my original height of 5 feet 5.5 inches or 164 centimetres. I am now just under 5 feet 5 inches but not quite 5 feet 4.5 inches. I think my exercises keep me from shrinking faster than that. I can remember my grandmother shrinking slowly and she kept doing stretching exercises to slow it down but then she was only 5 feet tall and she did shrink although passed away just under 81 years of age and I would say she had not lost more than 2 inches at that time so it must come as you head into your 80s. I haven't read up on that and probably will not my schedule of reading is lengthy and it probably will not reach to that subject matter.
Not a great deal being said about Enbridge and the increase in crude oil to the south on their pipelines. It is good news to have an increase in the oil being exported to the United States although it does cripple our trade level between us increasing our exports but they do sell back to us at 3x what they pay for it. One hopes that a business plan can be found for us to refine our oil in Ontario (with an eastern pipeline) and then sell it here in Ontario and Quebec since it is very reachable by road (which could be improved vastly by expanding the Trans Canada in Northern Ontario to four lanes quickly). We are already used to paying the price that we do so the profit margin would be still there and perhaps larger if one takes it into account that the population of youth coming up in Canada will all be car drivers; it is the only way to get around. It would help to make up for lost employment although I see an American company has decided to relocate to Canada to sell their liqueur as we appear to be their largest customer and that was good news. Smart move on their part for sure. I am not really sure that there is a margin of profit to be lost (other than initially because of reorganizing their premises) but rather if your market is already lucrative the odds are greatly in favour of it increasing. Since likely Enbridge could afford to do an eastern pipeline they are the best hope for that I suspect. But we need to get all the tools in order for that to happen and that includes the road for sure (four lane from the Quebec border into Ontario to the Manitoba border. Wasting money on idle things like camera removal since they were already there making money is a waste. People shouldn't be driving fast in school areas and the fines should be large and the cameras made sure of it. Whatever happened to fiscal conservative I would like to know. Why remove or sell things to someone else that make money for us! As for the money every bit helps and balancing the budget is something we will do once we are a much larger producing country. Then we worry about the budget once again. I do like the way that the Prime Minister dots all the i's and crosses all the t's.
Continued with Chromosome 3 matches into the day and I am about one quarter through as I correct some of the matches that should have been Buller. Thirteen crossover points are proven with six to go. There are still a couple of confusing spots which look like crossover points but not yet proven to exist although it shows up on the visuals but not consistently so I suspect it is just a shadow created by the different areas being selected as testing areas by the companies. This is the first time that I have really had one set of numbers (two for one sibling) that was questionable. So not too bad as there are just two chromosomes to complete this task and I will redo Chromosome 23 before I move on but Living DNA does not report on Chromosome 23 - just FT DNA, 23 and Me and Ancestry do or did and My Heritage also does not report on Chromosome 23. I still think the attack on 23 and Me was terrorism personally.
Chromosomes 1 and 2 are really long so that will be a big job when I finally begin these last two (except I still need to do chromosome 23). There are 281 matches on Chromosome 1 and 120 on Chromosome 2 so a huge task ahead and I am half way through November. I have been a long time at this process and still need to go back and check for new matches just in case in all these databases. I could do it every day and was to a certain extent but the flu did slow my process just a little and I really do not recommend having it. Get your flu shot and wear a mask. I have had the flu shot now and I am wearing a mask when I go out. But then I hardly ever go anywhere; my life here is incredibly busy day after day whether it is cleaning or working the time goes very fast. I am way behind on the photo albums but perhaps will get back to that this week. I have this plan in my mind but I do get conflicted at altering what my husband did but to have it survive I need to downsize it. Fourty albums is too many for any family to manage but it does tear a bit at the heartstrings for sure. But I am the one who should do it for sure.
First breakfast eaten and tea drank just the solitaire puzzles to do before starting to clean.
